Listen to Construction Time Again from Depeche Mode then listen to Pretty Hate Machine. PHM is not Industrial but Synth Rock.
Then He added more guitar in Broken.
TDS is an experiment. What if we use a broken sound to harmonize with our Joy Division-like anguish? Dead Souls is the basis of this argument. TDS tries to sounds broken because it tells a broken story.
