A well made guitar will be well intonated from the first to the last fret and have a warm, full tone even for the highest E. It's only a fraction of the range of a piano after all. Imagine being such a shitty musician you can't think of a use for them. Imagine being such a shitty sound guy you need to put a neck pickup where frets could go to get more bass like that 1/4" matters that much.
As for ibanez and fender shitplanks, well, I don't know, they only sound worse the higher you go.

the highest notes on your instrument are for dramatic accents you don't play the whole song in the highest register you can. they make different instruments for that. if you can't get a good tone out of the high notes your amp is set wrong and you should use active EQ instead of a tone knob stack.

He said it was left on a riverboat for most of his time using it and recently only used it to practice, looks like its maybe 80s. For instance the bass I am being given is pic related, and I keep seeing "Well suited to Jazz" and stuff like that, if I am planning on playing Rock/Industrial stuff eventually would it still be viable on this bass?

Looking up Telecasters you see people say they're great for country, yet you have Jimmy Paige, Joe Strummer, John 5, and Jim Root who all played teles as well, and they play classic, punk, metal, etc with a guitar that's "great for country music"

The higher the action, the more out of tune you'll be when playing.
Sound like the truss rod is too tight, back it off 1/8th of a turn, retune and give it a shot. Another 1/8th if the first still buzzes. I've had this happen on 2 of mine, a Jackson X Sololist and a Schecter. Some dummy over tightened it.

the tele bridge was like $12,50 . it was normal spacing but each saddle's width was larger than the spacing of the two strings of each saddle, causing an uneven spacing.
