If anything was a "phase" to you, then you were never really into it.

wrong, you will see when you grow out of your current phase.

Wait a few more years before nostalgia hits you. It took me more than 10 years to realize that I loved emo all along and there's nothing to be ashamed of.

this desu

If I cringe when I think of my past, it just means I've grown as a person

the only pop punk I've liked is Green Day and the Ramones if you can even call them that, and I'm not even that ashamed of it

My Chemical Romance ripped though

Sum 41 were the best pop punk band

Just like a few months ago got into MCR for the first time in my life after years of breakcore, drone, shoegaze, math rock and other "cool" genres.
Listened to cemetery drive for two days straight on repeat. Fucking loved that shit.
Not even slightly ashamed.
I don't give a fuck anymore. I'll listen to anything nowadays.
Probably lost any semblance of music taste and I'm glad I did

>I don't give a fuck anymore. I'll listen to anything nowadays.
Ha! In the end after all of those phases, I've realized that music is just frequencies and implied emotions.
There's nothing really "good" or "bad" about it. You just love it or not.
No point of denying something that you like just because some dude on animu website said that it's bad.. because of reasons.

>Paramore
>P!ATD
>FOB
>emo
Maybe in retard town, D.C. hardcore is real emo.

sum 41 are better as a softcore metal band

The incredible disappointment of FOBs Save Rock n Roll, not to mention the garbage that followed, led me to deny all former affiliations with the genre.

because a lot of it seems extremely inauthentic, unintelligent, and effeminate in a bad way. it seems fake and bad and people don't want to be fake and bad by liking fake and bad things.

All the small things

cool cat user

Ithink ramones blurr the line between punk and Proto punk but most definitely are not pop punk

Folie a Deux was a small step down from Infinity On High, Save Rock And Roll had some okay songs, I like American Beauty/American Psycho a lot more than I think I should, but Mania... What a trainwreck

"Real emo" only consists of 90s Midwest Emo and the late 00s twinkle scene

FUCK OFF

i wish i were emo

>"Real emo" only consists of 90s Midwest Emo and the late 00s twinkle scene
Never understood why gatekeepers reject early 00's emo. Harmonies, techniques and influences seems to point toward emo and yet it's still somehow not "true enough".
Early 00's Thursday, Taking Back Sunday or The Used sound totally emo to me.
I would even say that a lot of "emo revival" bands got less in common with Midwest Emo music-wise that those bands.
