Oh... my... god... I can't believe it's actually here... breath, breath... I can't handle it, I just can't stop crying...

Oh... my... god... I can't believe it's actually here... breath, breath... I can't handle it, I just can't stop crying. THIS SONG WAS WORTH THE WAIT. For all the tool fans who died along the way, I'm so sorry you can't experience this work of extasy in audio format. Me and my wife's boyfriend have already listened to this song 50 times today I can't get over how amazing this is. I wish i could spread my asshole and let Maynard fuck me because he is such a genius and he isn't even human he's so magnificent I am blown away I wish i could blow maynard. I would stick maynards cock (REFERENCE!!!) in my mouth if i could. This is the best day of my life I've waited so long for this, this song is so good it's not a mediocre tool song it's actuaally the best song I've ever heard in my life and i would go gay for any of the members of tool. I saw them live and let me tell you it was a spiritual experience I can't believe it's finally here

>13 years
>releases a mediocre album

*laughs in The Avalanches*

>10 minute song
>feels like 3 minutes

How do they do it? Apparently the album is 1 and a half hours long as well

Not the final cover

Awful OP.
By the way, somer reviews are out. Out of the 3 I heard, this one had the smallest wanking amount and the most substance.

channels his inner lakers and unleashes shaqfu on his kit nightly.

I want everyone reading this to close your eyes and see if you can just *feel* the emotions I'm projecting about this song.

honestly think the song sounded like an AI listened to tool albums for 13 years and programmed a new song. however I'm very interested to see what they came up with for the video screen and speakers. I might not even open it, I'll just flip it to some dweeb for 200 buckets.

I really enjoy the new song.
A lot.

Its like Tool TRYING to be Tool. And that's not a bad thing.

That being said. I heard the entire album leaked. Anyone care to share?

user. I enjoy how we both came to similar conclusions through the same manner. Just a minor observation

>This and maybe 2-3 other tracks will be good. I'll be very surprised and glad if everything except the title track is good.
Also, wtf is up with "Chocolate Chip Trip" is that going to be Rosetta Stoned 2?

Power Ranking so far:

1. Invincible
2. Descending
3. Inoculum

Attached: 1552408167727.png (323x511, 236K)

its just the annoying filler solo danny has been playing live for the past few years called "cc trip" pretty much a segue but they wont admit it

Yeah, I'm kinda bummed about that. Now we're only getting 6 actual songs instead of 7 and we've already heard 3

>6 songs
wait, are you serious? wtf.

I was hoping it would be like a/descending, as in just a part of the song, and that sounds different in the full track.
But after doing some calculation, it seems like it's going to be the 6 minutes track we can expect.
The runtime of the album is 79 minutes. We know that Fear Inoculum takes 11 minutes. We know that Invincible and Descending take 12 minutes each, with the possibility of Descending taking a bit more with those wave sounds at the beginning and the end. Rumors said that the last track takes 18 minutes, and according to the early reviews, 7empest hovers around 20 minutes.
Which means that among the track we know, you have AT LEAST 53 minutes out of the 79 minutes that are "used". Which leaves us to 26 minutes for the last 3 tracks we haven't heard about yet.
Chocolate Chip Trip taking the 5-6 minutes it does take in live would make sense, since it would leave an average of 10 minutes for the remaining tracks. And that fits the different rumors compiled by toolarchives, that claim all the tracks are at least 10 minutes long.

tl;dr: enjoy your 4th track, which is a segue.

I give the title song a 7/10 maybe mainly because i want some more Undertow type songs from the band. I do like every album though...

Octopus daemon

such a good album

Over the years this has maybe become my favorite tool album something about how it's a familiar, classic hard rock aesthetic but they do such a good job with it.

Just getting into tool now, what albums should I listen to first?

OP here
id say aenima is a good place to start. about half the songs are with their old bassist and the other half with their new one. the album has a great mixture of sounds, is my personal favorite. these albums are very long and take a lot of time to digest, it might not click right away but when it does, you'll be blown away

wasn't into the single but hope the album turns out good bros :)

fucking lol. It's true.

Sauce on the leak?

>id say aenima is a good place to start
it's a good place to end too, the other albums suck.

5/10

>wanking off Adam
That'a a fake review you've went ahead and posted. Adam's playing is boring and anyone paying attention to Adam is delusional.

>the other albums suck.
you absolute nigger, undertow and laterlus can't be missed.

someone said in a chat that it was leaked on piratebay but i can't check it at work

I only see the single.

this is unironically the most onions post ive ever heard.tool is fine but like liking them this much is onions boy

>Chocolate Chip Trip

That song was nothing special. 6/10 at best.

No one saw this coming.
That's a very obscure title and has certainly a deep meaning in the flow of the disc.

the album cover is a still from the music video? the physical release with the little screen that plays videos or whatever it's supposed to do, i wonder if it'll be a 80 minute video that goes with the entire album? shit i wish i wasnt broke, limited releases and needing to pre order x.x

i remember getting 10k days on release day, and my dad took me to bestbuy to pick it up because it was the closest place, and after we paid for it, we were walking out and my dad turned around and walked to this cardboard display they had set up for the album and he told the cashier "hey, im taking this. thanks" he took all the cds off and set them on the counter and we walked out.

What if.
What if there is a videogame?
Tetris tool special edition ultra mega gigigawatt?

I'd still buy it, one for everyday use, one for collection.

your dad is based

you still have it?

yeah i still have it, but it's packed away under my gfs bed right now (with all my cds, vinyl, tapes)

i cant find a picture of it on the internet so i guess its a pretty unique little tool thing.
looks basically like this, but 10kdays themed. fits on a shelf nicely

Attached: Cadbury-Chocolate-Display-Stand.jpg_350x350.jpg (350x350, 18K)

haha, the youtube comments and r*ddit are exactly like this. very astute, very funny post. haha. lol.

it's going to be a cool album though. i'm looking forward to it

>Me and my wife's boyfriend
I know from right here this post is bait, but so far this album looks pretty good, not gonna lie.

That's Reddit as fuck

tool have like 2 good songs

This but unironically. Yes, I get the joke and I agree that the fans are often annoying as hell, but the fact that the band has released their first single after so many years is legitimately exciting.

Pfft, says who?

This is bait you fucking dumb fag.
>Reviewers literally say they don't see anything bad about it except less Maynard.
"It's just wankery"

Attached: IMG_20190407_081828.jpg (884x1024, 117K)

Every album is great

It's only 15 minutes long

Attached: GKrhoVr.png (828x1792, 277K)

lol how old are you?

which songs?

>chocolate chip tr
dropped

honestly an album full of tracks with names like chocolate chip trip is more interesting than one with a buncha pseudo intellectual titles and broken latin.

Not that guy, but from what I understand, Chocolate Chip Trip segues in and is still a band instrumental

tool is not that good, just bunch of middle eastern shit mixed with 90s buttrock and songs that are long for muh acid trip. lyrics are often pretty basic and uninteresting, just making use of a bunch of buzzwords and pseudo-scientific nonsense. im sure it was cool 20 some years ago, but this shit sounds so played out. decent enough songwriting i suppose, i'll give em that, but it's just kind of boring

Attached: 1544338017052.jpg (640x640, 50K)

>boring

say what you want but boring ain't it

idk, i just lose interest every time i try to listen to them, and i've given it plenty of chances. it's really not bad, i was kind of being too harsh there, but i just can't into tool

Zoomer

Lateralus was unironically like a spiritual experience for me.

They got insanely popular back in the day.
First time I (and I venture to guess a lot of other people) had dealt with decent songwriting before.
Lateralus is filled with songs about healing and absolving yourself of anger and regret, the themes are pointed while at the same time having vague lyrics.

It created this atmosphere, it made me truly introspective for the first time in my life. Interpreting lyrics that helped me resolve and heal real life problems I had.
It was different than everything else on the radio, where it threw an angsty teen situation at you and you left saying "yeah I can relate to that".

It was absolutely a different level than what you were hearing on the radio.
Being on Yea Forums, decent or deep songwriting isnt that hard to find now. Its taken for granted kind of how much different things were back then.

Just remember when someone is getting just a little overzealous about their tool fandom, it was a perfect storm at just the right time.
Its pretty indicative of how well Tool is doing right now.

pretty much the same (i'm not married).

WHO ARE YOU TO RAISE THE FINGER

this is the only thing I am looking forward to this month.

Beautiful, this is exactly how I felt as well

listened to lateralus as a young teen that was troubled by a fear of death caused from the nihilistic atheism my parents were rubbing off on me, little boy just trying to do his fucking homework getting panic attacks in the middle of the night imagining this as all just a coincidence, nothing mattering, the oblivion of death etc
that cringey shit is probably what got me so hooked on their previous albums in the first place, but lateralus really gave me an interest in spirituality that helped get me back on track

>wait 13 years for a new album
>it's just full of boring self-undulgent filler
>everybody else thinks it's amazing
did the world change, or did i?

either way its sure as hell that tool obviously didnt change
they remain stuck in 2006

Fuck off back to Twitter or whatever attention seeking social media you come from and then kill yourself.

They have broken the flux capacitor.
(a miniature of it will be included in the new packaging though)

I've seen a couple of early reviews. Everyone, music critics included, seem to think that this is the album of the millennium and that it's more greater than the moon itself.

I, on the other hand have listened to 3 songs for at least 30minutes total, and I'm underwhelmed at the moment.
So, I deduce that:
1. I have no ears nor the proper iq to comprehend the greatness
2. I don't like things more greater than the moon
3. Music "journalist" are almost as bad as videogame "journalist"
4. I would listen to the album but no way I'm putting 70dollars on it.

Epic

I suspect they will all be between 8 and 14 minutes.

Maybe you can answer this question for me because I've seen many conflicting pieces in magazines and blogs over the years. Does Maynard subscribe to some obscure belief system or does he dislike all religions, organized or otherwise?
