This album is incredibly sad but I can't see how anyone could actually tear up listening to it. It's more shocking than anything. Makes you feel uncomfortable for listening to something so personal.

I totally get that, I feel what makes it such a lovely album is that it covers the same themes as C&L (which would probably be my second choice for heart shattering record) but the unpolished, almost unmusical nature of it makes the sorrow almost uncomfortably real. Carrie and Lowell is a prettier album, musically, but the lack of polish on Crow makes it a harder listen. Idk, if that makes sense at all
