Accelerationist music

What is some music that an accelerationist would listen to?
I know this faggot liked jungle, trance and drum n bass back in the 90s because at the time it was the closest music was getting to representing antihumanist futurist perspectives and also because it often sampled cyberpunk and body horror movies about machinery assimilating the human race/fusing with it etc. What would the modern equivalent be? Dubstep?

Thanks for contributing to the thread and overall quality of the board user

Vapowave is the most accelerationist music I can think of.

Wouldn't vaporwave be decelerationist since it encourages nostalgia rather than quickening the pace towards the singularity

The only thing that close to its a even he commented on it is James Ferraro. He is actually making such that is not generic blob that uses words to paint something that is not there.

Not exactly. It fetishizes the rapid cyclical cultural cannibalism of late capitalism. The samples are actually intentionally taken from things alien to our personal nostalgic memories like Japanese music or pop music from before we were born

So then what's the whole thing with fashwave? I know it's a meme and I think it sucks music wise but I always see people who like it justify it by saying it's just taking the nostalgic themes of vaporwave to their logical conclusion

Also was there really any theoretical angle behind vaporwave in the first place? I always just thought it was some shit hipsters started making cuz it sounds cool while you're stoned and then people kind of projected the philosophy onto it retroactively

Fashwave is dumb and doesn't fit into vaporwave aesthetically or philosophically. Vaporwave is about how arbitrary our cultural symbols are by showing how easily they can be commodified repurposed and Fascism is about jacking off to the completely artificial symbols of the non-existent "good old days." Here is an idea; not well thought through, I grant you, but an idea none the less. What about post-modern passivity/lethargy as an active political position? Instead of having a political correlate of Hauntology, maybe the slow dissolution of political engagement within the public sphere, along with a possible breakdown in the economic system that underpins capitalist democracy could come together in some way. This would side step the need for active ideologies, by being a passive state of breakdown, rather than an active political radicalism.

Read some James Ferraro interviews from 2011 when he dropped Far Side Virtual, or from OPN, Internet Club and Vektroid from that era. There is a lot that can be said regarding vaporwave from a theoretical point of view. Fashwave was always a shitty, baseless forced meme (much like oceangrunge).
