Back in the days it wasn't "post-punk".
It almost feels wrong to just call them a post-punk band. They were so diverse and colorful. They dabbled in psychedelic rock and exotica and so many other genres.
Because they're often overshadowed by The Cure, even though Robert Smith just copied whatever Siouxsie did.

This song is so fucking good, I never encountered anything with such a beautiful melancholic atmosphere. The whole of Tinderbox is great, but that finale track blows me away each time.

I find them to be extraordinarily plain. Even tinderbox, and juju are lame.

I disagree. For one, The Cure were literally copying the Banshees. It's pretty hilarious if you look at both of their trajectories. The Cure were always one step behind them in the early 80s. Secondly, the Banshees are almost single-handedly responsible for the entire genre of shoegaze.

Cocteau Twins were heavily criticized for being a Banshees knock-off when they first formed. Liz Fraser has Siouxsie tattooed on her arms. Heaven Or Las Vegas is full of Banshees riffs.

OK, but they still had the whole dreamy singing over guitars drenched in a shitton of effects thing as a more defining part of their sound while the Banshees weren't really bound to that or any one given style due to their frequent experimentation.
I'll give you that. The Banshees never had a consistent sound. They remind me of The Beatles in that regard. They just played whatever the fuck they wanted and didn't care if it was a hit or a miss.
Cocteau Twins took one element of their sound and honed in on it and perfected it.

Maybe that's why I like them. I have ADHD.
It also feels really satisfying when an artist changes their style and it still sounds awesome, you end up identifying with their musicality that much more.

Its a weird TV special that they directed and starred in. Each Banshee directed their own short story and they've all held together by some weird psychedelic Alice In Wonderland narrative. It's all hugely inspired by Magical Mystery Tour and shit like that.
