Neither

>cringe
yes
>based
no

If you are poor no. If you are rich absolutely.

based. money is everything in the world. if you're rich you can fuck like a chad even if you're an incel looking motherfucker

Capitalism makes the world go round, so based.

cringe, but making music you love whilst also making a profit is based
there's a fine balance between profit and the love of art

Making art solely for profit is disgusting

why are you so retarded? that's my question to you. it's one or the other for some, and both for some. useless fucking thread.

>Cringe
Absolutely. There's nothing wrong at all with wanting to be big and swimming in cash, but if that's the sole motivation for making music then there's a high chance your music is going to be (at most) bland and boring shit

Absolutely based.

how do you answer cringe or based with "no"

Compare three 6 mafia, before and after "The End", you have your answer

the obvious assumption would be that they meant not cringe if you're poor, yes cringe if you're not poor. use your head user

Making art for profit has always been the end goal. Those who can't make money from their work just aren't good enough. Those who claim they have no interest in profiting from their work are lying.

if good meant it made money, kpop must be high art

Based

If the sole purpose is cash, ur gay

If you are good enough to make art that makes miney, ur based

>Those who can't make money from their work just aren't good enough
Both true and false

Good is subjective.

then the claim that art that those who can't make money from their work just aren't good enough is meaningless

The quality of art is subjective, but the talents of the artist aren't.

Depends on the genre. If you're just making normiecore pop-country or club music or something to cash in on the normalfags, that's based, but if you're making lame, derivative prog rock pieces or incelcore like certain shills on Yea Forums to try and cash in on the subculture then that's cringe and you should kys.

to be talented in something implies a way of doing it well, so if you were to say that talent is objective then the music resulting must be to

Both.

No one makes music solely for profit, you have to spend a lot of time and energy and money just learning how to make music in the first place, and even if you do e nd up doing it well (unlikely) there is very little chance of ever making money from it. If you want to make money, music is the last place to go, especially considering the absolute state of the industry now. Put that effort into the stock market if you want to make money.
