In a world with so many options for music that all fits into similar sounds you can be pretty picky about who you listen to if they do something that just ever sort of irks you. I'll admit to liking chance the rappers music but because he's such a shill I avoid listening to it and find a replacement after an hour on soundcloud. marketing tactics I see as dishonest bother me so I don't listen to the artists even if I'd otherwise enjoy the sound.

In the case of moral outrage and shit like that people get way more emotionally involved in the move and project bad experiences theyve had with other people in their own life and make it personal. I don't care about that shit but I get why others do, even if most of it is people just loving to see someone fall.

I'll continue listening to ducktails or elvis depressedly or diiv (if I liked them) because nothing they did seems so out of place for artists who are just generally pretty volatile people. Sam ray marrying kitty pride rubbed me the wrong way more than whatever this shit show is and for no good reason either. denzel curry affiliating with billy eyelash and other artist I enjoyed working with clairo is also a bit bothersome.

I saw Elvis Depressedly live maybe about 4 or 5 years ago. Even then he was nothing more than a washed up fat drunk who couldn’t even sing along to most of his songs, mostly just a bunch of unfunny stage banter that you could tell was making the rest of the band uncomfortable. Truly a shitty show
