James still hates bass

>Hetfield reasserted his stance on keeping the original mix intact, commenting, "And why would you change that? Why would you change history? Why would you all of a sudden put bass on it? There is bass on it, but why would you remix an album? You can remaster it, yes, but why would you remix something and make it different? It'd be likeā€¦ I don't know. Not that I'm comparing us to the Mona Lisa, but it's, like, 'Uh, can we make her smile a little better?!' You know?! Why?"

One sounds best the way it is

He's just eternally salty that God decided to kill Cliff Burton in a freak accident. Bass gives him PTSD.

What an egomaniac. There's no shame in admitting that you fucked up and improving on it.

they could start with death magnetic becuase its unlistenable

That's funny he uses the mona lisa as an analogy because Da Vinci spent 15 years touching up that painting and never finished it before he died

Still their best album

It still sucks

Have you seen it in person circa 16th century? Because the reason it took him so long was he was going for a 3D feel, hence many thin layers. That's one of the reasons its a masterpiece, because her eyes follow you round the room

who cares dork

BASED

Proud to be dumb huh

Nobody cares about the bass anyway

whatever dork

I have a mixed opinion on remixes. And if they believe on preservation of old media, I guess I can't really judge that.
Don't get me wrong, drowning the bass on the original mix was a dick move, but people like that album for what it is.
Also, what are some good rock/metal album remixes? Genuinely curious about this, I'm only familiar with the Megadeth Remix and Remaster editions and most of them suck.

It's not like the old version of the album would disappear.
And yeah, this album in particular got a good remixes by fans which amped up the bass.

Yeah, I've heard them, even the demos have audible bass.
Still, I get Hetfield's point.

And if you are looking for an amazing remaster, Godflesh's Streetcleaner counts, a lot of Killing Jokes' albums too.

Are you proud you know about a bunch of gay paintings?

Thought it would be ulrich to say that jams is a pushover

I really like the album anyway

mono Adore remix

go watch porn.

He probably uses it because Lars is a big artfag so it's a reference that comes to him easily.

Go away Kevin

Steven Wilson is known for remixing acclaimed rock records from the 60's and 70's and he is extremely good at it.
