Just learned he produced The Downward Spiral from the Sharon Tate Murder House.
What the fuck was his problem?

he claims he didn’t know but idk how that’s possible
He's an edge lord user
It wouldn't be bad if he just admitted he did it for the edge, it's dumb he pretends that's not exactly why he went there
mallgoth edgelord
This is correct. He knew exactly what had happened in the house. Pic related.
This is the area where they cut Tate's stomach open and pulled out her bay while she was till alive.
...and this the exact spot where Reznor set up his recording area.
>I'm having suicidal thoughts so I'm gonna rent a house where awful homicides happened
You can even see in the "Gave Up" video where they hung an American flag behind the mixing console just like the American flag was hung over the couch at the murder scene.
I'm afraid he suffers from "basedism" and "redpilleditis", user
He most certainly does not.
How? How is it possible to be blown away by that? He makes good music but man it sucks they jewed him
>He makes good music
lole no he doesn't
Look, I'm not gonna waste anytime arguing with you people. That's not even what the thread is about yet you saw his face and immediately clicked the thread. Fag
Op wanted to know what the fuck his problem was, remember? Well his problem is he's always been a tryhard industrial buttrocker trading in edge instead of substance.
I never got Nine Inch Nails, they are such an unnecessary band, at least their Post-Fragile work is, they lost all of the intensity they've had and Trent lost all of the impact and energy as a performer, his voice is so down the drain he can't put out good screams even on studio. He should have retired after The Fragile. Even your butt-rock shitty band has more of an impact and heaviness than NIN, it's not like Post-Fragile NIN has a good enough of song-writing or anything else to make up for the lack of any impact at all.
The truth is he was 35 when the The Fragile was released, well past the expiration date for a pop artist. There are people who will argue NIN isn't a pop act but they are. I have to give him some credit for recording the nosiest pop record ever released but that's as far as it goes. After that he should have retreated into doing work outside the spotlight but I guess he was too egotistic to realize how increasingly ridiculous he looks releasing Hot Topic music as a 55 year old man.
pretty sure he DID know, he even met her sister, but by the end of recording TDS he started feeling extremely uncomfortable about the ordeal and bailed.
While there are some points here, I just think there is something else underneath, his music just started lacking impact, songwriting and layering overall has become far simplified and instead of pushing himself further to release more abrasive Pop Records, he doubled down on Pop. Even on edge, he severely lacks any passion for what he sings about, it feels dishonest.
One of the things that happened was that he traded in working with odd samples for a giant modular synth setup. He went from working with textures which resulted in interesting compositions to generic sounding sequenced modular bleep blarps and it sucked all the energy out of his music. He got old too (and off drugs) so the loss of energy was bound to happen but the shift in his sound is the worst party of the equation and the direct result of the equipment he switched over to.
