Buy a Gibson.

Don't know why they left Major 7th and Half-Diminished out, but decent chart anyway.

>I said past about $1000 you're just buying a brand name.
I agree with this in terms of build quality and the quality of the materials (wood) used, which is the most important thing when it comes to a guitar. You'll probably want to change the pickups but that's probably still cheaper than paying the premium for a brand name. And who says you'd want to keep the same pickups forever on an Authentic® Gibson™ Les Paul anyway?

what pick is that?

Attached: 1540661994045.jpg (600x315, 14K)

Quality wood plateaus too. Is it dry? Yes? Okay, it's good.

The metal used will affect the tone more, and more consistently. Two slabs of alder won't sound the same. Two pieces of stainless steel will be 99.9% identical. Do you prefer brass bridge saddles and bone nuts, or steel nuts and a steel bridge with a brass sustain block?

i don't want to because i have a very nice guitar and very bad skills

I only asked to see the spot where you put those bad skills to use, user

take a moment and think about Jerry Garcia at any age. it's conceivable that sometimes, he sat down on the toilet and farted kakalogs out of his ass. this much we know as true.

i posit that, as Jerry's health deteriorated, he was probably not as diligent about washing his ass. I think that he probably had a lot of asshair, too. So you just know that he pooped through his asshair like a cheesegrater and the kaka willnots got stuck in the hair (making stinky kaka asshair pie, if you really want to be specific).

What are some good Dead songs to solo over? I like soloing over Franklin's Tower best so far.

Oh shit I'm fake

>muh Brazilian monkey made guitar

Posting again for more opinions. I've recently come back to playing after a few years break. Will eventually end up with everything, but can't decide which to start with. Currently have a cheap agile AL-2000 and a crate 65w combo amp. I'm fairly happy with my guitar, but my amp is pretty lacking. Roughly $700 budget

>Build a kit guitar
'Dream build' style, replacing electronics and hardware. Custom stain, engraving, etc. Feel like a project would help me out right now as well. Keep the amp for longer, probably fit in a pedal or something, maybe some pickups for my current guitar as well. Maybe upgrade my audio interface too depending on how much is left over.

>Pedal setup
Kraken preamp pedal + multi fx pedal + other bits.
Current amp supposedly has an effects loop, but I need to get an adapter and test it still. Alternately, sell the amp and go with whatever I can get the better deal on
>>cab sim pedal and powered frfr speaker
>>cheap head+cab/combo with fx loop
>>power amplifier+cab/unpowered frfr speaker

>Modeling amp
50-100ish watt modeling amp with the effects I want and an fx loop. Probably a mustang/code/katana/etc. Also shoehorn in a kraken

Feel like the pedal or amp option will make the biggest difference and get me closer to what I want, but I'm in the mood for some sort of project so the guitar kit is sounding really good

Im sorry about that, thats because i love you,i really really do

Fuck off

All those modeling amps are shit. Look at other solid states if you're going that route and just buy a couple decent pedals to start off

I can't risk having any of my bandmates, or more likely, my fans, recognize me posting here in this cesspool. My practice rig is nearly identical to my live one and I don't feel like making up a fake one out of some squier in the closet just to post.

It could be a small PR nightmare but mostly it would hurt my pride if a grown man with a career in music became a grown man who also posts on an far right anime forum.

Franklin's Tower is pretty good, check out Althea too

You need to buy an acoustic, too

Contoured jazz III-like picks have little string resistance and precise action so they're perfect for my style.

Isn't a green dunlop supposed to be .88mm?

I just arrived to this general, saw that sambo guy's playing, yikes, better start practicing seriously from now on

yep

That green pick specifically looks alot thicker than .88 atleast 1.1 imo

I love the jazz Iii but the xl is the only type im comfortble using

Get a primetone or a flow

Ive never looked for specific picks, i always just take a bunch when i buy something at a guitar store

Never gonna make it.

I dont think it matters that much, i only started playing a few months ago, and i love the xl, dont think i need anything else right now

Only a Gibson is good enough.

Note taken. Figured they're pretty closely priced with equivalent wattage normal solid states so I could just skip out on some of the pedal setup I want and use the onboard stuff instead. Mainly gonna be using the kraken bypassing the front end anyways

I've heard good things about warmoth but heard better things about precision at that price range for my plans

I rhink drummers in gemeral are thieves, i had a drummer roomate who kept smoking my weed thinking i wont notice, i stole his bong when i left the aprtment

did you talk to him after that

Yea we went to the same college for 2 years, i told him im going to keep the bong and he can fuck off, i dont see a point in trying to get anything back from a theif unless you take it yourself, after that we just ignored eachother if i saw him

That guitar is fucking beautiful

If I owned it I would probably hot glue it no lie

just on the finish where it's easy to wipe off though

he just stole your weed no need to cut contact like that
but hey youre a weedsmoker, i shouldnt give you high level suggestions.

I would personally feel very bad for the guitar

>he just stole your weed no need to cut contact like that
T. guy who steels weed

They have the fame from big name players on them but never mention they change strings every gig so they don't care about longevity so noobs get tricked

guys i just brought my tele to my luthier of trust for him to sand the saddles so the spacing is even, and to compensate the e/B saddle

i'm betting hes gonna charge like crazy for that, i should have sanded it myself and just bring it to him to even the burr of the string slot

im straight edge, fag. enjoy your estrogen

Its not about what he stole, its the fact he fucking went through my stuff for some weed i wouldve shared if he had asked, i cant stand people going through my stuff or stealing from me, maybe im a little autistic but fyi i havent smoked weed at all for a while, i used to smoke alot every day so it probably made me impulsive to do extreme things

Katana is amazing but seriously just go to a pawn shop and buy a used blues Jr for 300

the first session does sound good tho, better than daddario. they're easier to bend.

he went through your stuff but just for weed

Who else playing a epi Gibby and a Peavey bandit

Can you read? I said its not about what he stole, its the fact someone who isnt ME
took something thats mine and thought i wouldnt notice, it makes me mad thinking about it and i feel like i was fooled
Would you trust someone if they tried to take a pedal or something from you without saying anything?

>im straight edge
I wouldn't say I'm straight edge, but I actually don't smoke either

>but just for weed
my guy, how does that make it okay to you

it seems to me every decent guitarist i meet also happens to heavily smoke ciggarttes and drink atleast 2 cups of coffee a day, is it a rule for serious musicians or what?

Just go back to the same old jazz, C&W and folk chord changes they liberally stole from and reworked.

What do I need to learn guitar wise if I want to play something like A Place To Bury Strangers? Just a huge, massive wall of shoegaze/noise rock on steroids. I've seen it seems to be mostly few chords, but I know no guitar and I don't really know where to start.
I mean, I know that if I learn guitar, it'll come to me, but I'm really not interested in playing "conventional" guitar, so I would much prefer just learning some of the stuff they utilize and go from there.

Entry level acoustics from the big brands are all pretty much the same. Go to a store, try all of them, figure out which one you like, and then find the cheapest price online. They all shit out thousands of these guitars, at the same price point, using the same materials and designs. You'll get $150 worth of guitar, regardless - just keep your expectations low.

Not much, just learn a few chords and you're set. The hardest part is just going to be buying a million pedals.

>bass
gay

becoming good takes alot of time patience and mostly willpower to learn shit you dont care about much because it might make you learn better, if you are serious, get a teacher and see him every week or two, if you dont want a teacher just go through the courses on justinguitar and learn songs through the internet
allthough i'd bet you arent serious

might make you play* better

vocaroo.com/i/s0UacKU0aRuO

nice voice user and good for a reharseless jam

Oh, look, a guitar. How...ordinary.

i said ill be honest so dont take it personally, but i cant stand your voice,im no expert on singing its just very unpleasent on my ears, some parts are decent and others are pretty shakey and unlistenble imo, thanks for saying my voice is nice though

>I mean, I know that if I learn guitar, it'll come to me
lmaooo

So, clean them. Soak them in white vinegar for a night, you can make a year's worth that way, at a time. Or just go to a bank and get a new roll from the mint.

do you know if is right?

I'm mostly set on the pedal front, since I already make harsh noise, I just need some pointer on where to start mostly.

Like I said, I'm not interested in learning conventional rock guitar, since most of what I want to play just relies on... Basics, I guess.

Well, yeah, I mean, if I would learn how to play guitar, I would obviously know how to play an APTBS cover song. "Come to me" was not meant as "I would totally be an amazing musician and everyone would want to sign me".

bass retard here. is there an ideal/correct way to position my left thumb on the neck so that i don't fuck my wrist? half the shit i read says "right between your first and second finger" half the shit says "slightly to the left of the first finger" and no one seems to agree about which direction the thumb should even point

Read the OP and start there, you'll be able to master the type of music you want to play in 2 weeks tops since it doesn't push you skill wise or creativity wise.

you pay all this money for tone-composites when it sounds just like plastic

Electric guitars sound like strings and pickups

so why not just use plastic

> I'm not interested in learning conventional rock guitar
i never said anything about rock, read my post again, i tried helping
have fun trying to sound good without learning any of the basics

That's because it entirely depends on the person. Play it the way it is most comfortable, don't force it inside near the second/third finger if that hurts.

making that kind of music is less about proficiency and more about creativity in songwriting

learn some open chords, triads and strumming patterns and experiment

Sounds like a beginner on the bass. Not just trying to shit on you, but you have a ways to go. You can form notes, but you're sloppy, you have no consistency or fluidity to your notes, and the volume is all over the place. Nobody could work with that - but you're a beginner, so you get a pass. Stop trying for "sick" riffs and work on the fundamentals, and develop a clean, consistent time with a solid sense of time, and volume. Are you working with a metronome at all?

Body and neck materials dampen the vibrations of the strings by varying degrees, killing certain overtones more than others.

This effect is significantly less dramatic than the effect of the nut/frets and bridge but nobody is advertising tone-alloys because exotic woods have always been "premium shit" in western culture and assigned magical qualities by music nerds.

hot wheels car looking guitar

fellow basist here, the consensus is that everyone is diffrent, but my rule of thumb is that if you play in a certain way for a while and it doesnt hurt physically then its probably the right way for you, a good way to avoid injuries is to take breaks atleast once an hour and to stop playing when it hurts even a little, if you can feel any pain at all in your right palm its time to stop for today, and maybe even for tomorrow if it really hurts

Burl looks almost identical. And, isn't particularly expensive, as it's pretty much junk wood (it's mostly from root balls)

i never played bass until a week ago, and i started guitar 3 months ago, so total beginner, i know its all over the place, but i was hoping someone would say the pattern atleast sound ok
do you have any advice on how to practice other than playing with a metronome and playing it back?

Right, I guess I misunderstood you. Obviously I know I need to learn the basics. I mostly need to know when to... Stop, I guess?

>making that kind of music is less about proficiency and more about creativity in songwriting
Yeah, that's why I want to try and pick it up, I think/hope it may compliment the style I'm already doing with noise music. Thanks.

Untrained voice, in every way.

>Doesn't hit the actual notes, ever
>Ragged throat noises
>Attempts vibrato, fails
>All head voice

Go take some singing lessons, and try again. This is "I love to sing along in the car" level of singing. What was the point of posting this?

Not him but you should probably just stick with one until you're proficient enough to be decent with the fundamentals and know a good bit of theory. Probably like after a year of playing everyday, then learn another instrument on the side.

Splitting your time isn't that great unless if you're a neet with 24 hours a day to spare.

Such "fast" looking guitars are in vogue now with the jazz, metal, prog rock, and fusion players. You also look fly playing funk and soul on one.

But not neo-soul, that demands a pastel colored telecaster and a conspicuously boutique pedalboard. And don't even think of classic rock or country.

Your guitar doesn't really limit your playing much, but if you're an actual performer or pro you're going to hurt your image (which matters) showing up with the "wrong" guitar by giving off the impression that you don't usually play the genre your guitar is "wrong" for and will do a worse job. Someone looking for a session guy for a country song is going to pick the tele or LP player over the superstrat player every damn time.

Not particularly, as you don't know how to sing.

Do you even know how to find out what the actual notes of the melody in that song are?

PS - guitar thread. Start a singing thread.

with this mindset you wont get far, but lets assume i am misjudging you, just go through the entire begginer course on justinguitar, thats a base for you, if you can play songs you like after that, than stop. if not then search for ways to improve, maybe come back here and ask for feedback on your playing.
anyhow start yesterday, time is limited

>tfw flamey maple top superstrats went out of fashion and everyone has burls in flashy colors and weird shapes like the JP majesty now

i dont really study the bass i just play around with it. im very serioius with the guitar though i try to play 2-3 hours a day, atleast an hour is practicing scales and chords with a metronome

>do you have any advice on how to practice other than playing with a metronome and playing it back?
Playing with a drummer, or a drum track. You are not playing an instrument that is typically a soloing one, although bassists do solo from time to time. You are rhythm section. Learn to work with the other half of the team you're aiming for.

If you just play around with it from time to time don't expect real progress desu. A lot of people don't give it credit but for a complete beginner to guitar/bass like yourself a bass will take just as much dedication to learn. Stuff like getting a consistent volume strumming/fingering, not sounding rigid, and keeping a consistent rhythm takes hours of practice to hone in on a bass if you aren't coming from guitar with that already mastered.

thanks. yeah, certain thumb positions i end up with a pretty extreme bend in my wrist, and it just seems like that's gonna give me medical trouble down the road. i'll work on finding something comfortable

just do glenn branca/kevin shields shit and fuck with your tuning constantly

You forgot solid color+roasted maple neck.

And don't worry, anime girls still play them.

Then bass is holding back your guitar practice. Stick with one instrument until you feel confident releasing an original song.

Attached: (note: can't actually play guitar).png (1334x1002, 650K)

stop ordering instruments online

personally i think we should be totally honest about guitar choice being as much about fashion as it is about the qualities of the instrument

aside from the hardware quality, there really isnt a ton of difference in a guitar that can't be eq'd out

everyone picks up guitar at least in part because they want to look cool, im no exception. it just depends on what looking cool is to you

>he didn't get the high level satire

and for the record these guitars that look like a cg wallpaper someone made in photoshop in 2009 look lame as hell

what is a good electric guitar for beginners.
in my country the currency is fucked up so even the cheap ones can get expensive

Yeah I'm learning you can play 90% of whatever style with any decent-quality guitar. Sure there are some slight differences in tone but I've played music on the "wrong" instrument (metal on a semi-hollow, jazz on a strat) and it sounded fine. Even shit sub $100 guitars can be redeemed by swapping out the pickups and playing through a good quality amp. Those are the two factors I find impact the sound the most

if you just say what country youre in we can help you

theres no reason to be cryptic about it

an used epiphone special II

Stuff like a strat and a les paul fit in any type of genre they're just that dominant

brazil

for a beginner, id recommend any second hand, brand name guitar that you think looks nice.the first guitar doesnt matter , just make sure its set up properly or take it to get a setup

Oh wrong post meant this one

if you have two humbuckers, any two humbuckers, you can play every single genre so long as it's set up so the middle position is out of phase so you can do the quack and you have a master volume knob at the least.

the only things that really limit you and demand pedal fuckery and advanced techniques to work around it are single coil pickups and hardtail guitars.

>brand name
what are the brand names

epiphone, squier, yahama, ibanez

i meant ones that are recognised as decent
if you do a google search and there isnt a website for the company, its probably not a decent brand

vocaroo.com/i/s00nabDzGsJo

Improv over a simple little chord progression I wrote. Appreciate any feedback on note choice, technique, guitar tone, sound mixing, whatever

i wanted to add, a squier stratocaster is a decent guitar to start off, or really any strat copy thats not made by indonesians or yellow niggers

how do I become cute like mio

i like it,but maybe play a little less, breaks add impact

kill yourself and hope for the perfect heaven to wait for you

Squiers are made in China though

Why is it the original eb-0?

frrom my personal expirence squiers are nicer then most guitars in the price range, maybe its because its a big brand, maybe im wrong
you dont have to take my word go try one they have squiers at literaly any guitar store, i never owned a squier guitar but i still think they arent bad for the price

Thanks! I do have a tendency to overplay

Yeah I know I'm just pointing out the part where you said not made by indoneasians or yellow niggers. CNC machines have gotten so good now that most far east imports pretty much have the same quality and a lot are made in the same factory. That's why people stopped bothering with having their cheaper brands in Korea because they get the same quality from places like Indonesia or China like PRS, Squier, and Epiphone did.

Those all might make very slight differences if I was playing super clean nerd music, but I play high distortion, baby
Toanwood ain't shit

It's because Squires QC department hands out social credit bonuses for good guitars and takes it away when they put out lemons. Suddenly the 5 cent an hour workers care about product quality again.

lmao

I have a $50 used Squier Bullet and it served me well for two years before I upgraded. Swapped out the pickups and it was totally workable. Sure it went out of tune every other day but it sounded fine and was easy to play -- ideal for learning guitar.

On the other hand, I've played a $150 Ibanez Gio and that thing was a real piece of shit. Strings felt like silly string under your fingers, impossible to get the right intonation or play with any accuracy. I think Ibanez make some good mid-range guitars (their Artcore semi-hollowbody series is surprisingly good) but their budget guitars are trash. I'd go with Squier at bottom-of-the-barrel price range

the ultimate guitar is a telecaster built to your exacting specifications

the telecaster is the last word in body shapes
22 is the last word in fret counts

Oh? Here's a shit brand with a website

tagimaguitars.com/

>Landline is the last word in telecommunication

dont know about ultimate, but i love it, i think its because of the design.
either way its my favorite guitar i own
how do you know its shit? doesnt look that horrible at first glance

>compares fucking up the neck tone and looking like a dweeb with landline telephones

dumb as expected

lmao

What is it made of if not wood?

Tone plastic

Innovation happens grandpa get used to it.

Tone glass

pau! ,ferro.....

Why didn't cast aluminum necks catch on again?

>Smooth feel
>Easy to clean
>Never needs adjustment
>Fret wear? lol
>Amazing tone and sustain
>Lasts forever

Not defending the other shit but thanks to law makers it's going to be extremely hard to get rosewood in the future

I've been struggling with the fucking C chord for about a little over a month bros. Is this normal? I think I'm making progress though, I'm almost to 60 chord changes a minute with C and Em. I can do the C chord just fine, it's just that I'M SO SLOW at switching to it and it's in every fucking song I want to learn.

But yeah, after starting playing guitar in like late May, I can now play the basic cowboy chords Am, Em, C, D, G, A, E, and Dm (but I haven't really practiced Dm to be fair) and I can switch between them alright, but not masterfully. Is my progress slow? I'm already dreading learning the F chord, I don't even understand how to bar the fucking guitar it's fucking hard.

Attached: 1562392460106.jpg (1024x754, 58K)

they weigh a ton and people hate new stuff

You mean thanks to the chinese overharvesting the fuck out of it for furniture.

We had to make it hard to get so there would be some left to get. It's not like you can tell it from dyed pau ferro anyways. Most of you wouldn't be able to tell dyed rosewood from ebony either because fretboard material doesn't affect tone, and most ebony is stained anyways because we already ran out of the good stuff.

Forgot the fruits of the chink's labor

No, they do not give a fuck about sustainability, they just cut it down and if they run out they will sell dyed pau ferro and even pine and call it genuine rosewood, lamenting the fact that they will then need to put extra effort into finishing it so it looks like rosewood.

Attached: ChineseShowrooms_16_Ong_web.jpg (1500x1104, 284K)

its not a race buddy, try to have fun with it

everyone has trouble with the F chord when they start out. youve already made it further than most people do. keep up the good work.

also when youre trying to barre, tilt your finger a little sideways so the bony part is whats pressing against the strings

yaeh I know, it's still hard though. I think it's in the realm of possibility though...but goddamnit if I'm struggling with C...whatever no point in bitching about it just gotta practice

all dense, fine grained hardwoods. i don't see a problem with using material native to your country.

if a tree didn't grow in the USA a guitar it's made from wasn't made in the USA. it was assembled in the USA.

acceptable woods for americans:
maple
ash
red alder
oak
walnut
texas ebony
american mahogany

everything else is for commies and terrorists. ya'll can take your fancy import guitars and shove it.

i started learning on july 1st and i started with justinguitar and i also use the app guitar tuna to practice my chords, i really recommend it (its free), i use it only for chords and metronome
i think you might be progressing slow and maybe practicing innefficiently?
as a little comparison ill list what ive learned since 1.6.19
chords:A E C D G F, Fm Dm Am Em Bm , g5,a5,d5, a7 g7 d7 b7 c7.
i do about 20 minutes every day with the chord games on guitartuna, i can really see how im improving, i also learnt 5 pentatonic shapes and a little bit of theory, i dont wanna come off as an asshole whose showing off, i just hope i gave you some reference as to where you stand in comparioson to a complete stranger who started around the same time.
feel free to ask anything

If you can do an A minor the C maj chord is easy you just move your third finger that's it. The biggest problem I had with it was not accidentally muting the other strings on accident so I learned I'm supposed to actually curl my fingers and not just lay them sloppy on the fretboard.

if i already know the major scale in the caged positions is it worth learning the pentatonic major?

are you practicing chord changes though? Like yeah, I could blaze through learning new chords and theory but I'm taking the time to master the basics before moving on...Also yeah I'm pretty busy with work so I don't practice as much as I want to, but I do try to have a routine of at least half an hour a day

Yeah it's relatively easy, it's just that I have small hands and the stretch is a bitch for me. My biggest problem is that my index finger doesn't extend past the fret on the A string and it sounds bad.

*ring finger

Who else here *pinky neglect*

If you think the stretch is hard you might be holding your neck in a bad position. I always say this but if teenage girls on youtube can play chords fine on a fullbody acoustic with high action and 12s you'll be fine on electric you just have to change your approach.

i use it for the BIG STRETCH

I don't think so, I legit have tiny hands bro, I'm 5'5" and my hands are literally the size of my little girl cousin that's in 7th grade. It sucks.

Weight/Location?

>are you practicing chord changes though?
the chord games i spoke of give you 30 seconds to do between 3 and 5 chords that you choose,in a random sequence, untill time is up. if you get 3 good in a row you get a few extra seconds.
so in 30 seconds you might change between A E D G and C, i avarge around 40 changes, for these chords.
and i can play plenty of songs i like and also i have no trouble with the few barre chords i know.
my advice for bar chords is to find one song you like that has just one bar chord, for the first month i tried playing "Plush" by STP , it has an F chord at the start, it took me a month to do it right, and right now i can change to it better than i change to open G, all chords are easy after you practice them every day for a month, even if just for 10 or 20 minutes (for all of the chord practice for that day)
and also try playing chord progressions from songs until you get it right, start from the chords by themselves then do them one after the other, then try to play with the song in the background

user's soft baby hands

3 to 5 chords*

Post pics of hands

I need them for, uh, reasons

>Pinky sees as much use if not more than middle finger.

Is this bad for shuffle?

Really? Post pics.

anyone here a chronic nail biter? do nails help in any way other than using them as a pick?

I call dibs on this one bros

Be my gf? Actual gender doesn't matter.

are you
a child?
please say yes

I'm a male and not gay so unless you're a girl with a short guy fetish fuck off.

I thought guitartuna was just a tuning app, I didn't know it had chordgames, I must've overlooked it. I'll try it out. But if it's based off yousician, I think I know what you're talking about because I've been using yousician as a supplement. Those chord games are good and all but for true proficiency you need like 60 chord changes a minute. But again, I'll try it out, thanks

Attached: 1557347266583.jpg (399x384, 19K)

>His guitar isn't also his GF

Never going to make it.

I have tiny hands and zero problems playing guitar. Get gud.

Also get a mustang but don't tell anyone it's only a 24" scale.

Attached: hinasmug.png (812x653, 646K)

Everyone is a little gay.

I am getting gud, I'm just saying that the chords that need stretching are harder than if I had average sized hands. But I'm not using it as an excuse to give up man

guitar tuna is great
yousician is shit
i tried it for two weeks and felt no progress, i hated the fact once i turn my phone off i cant play anything i did perfect a minute ago, learning songs from tabs however sticks for me
i use guitar tuna purely to practice chord changes, and thats it

maybe it because the mic was clipping?
vocaroo.com/i/s1FX9L5r23F0

rate this one pls
i was practicing the head voice itself.

Get one while they're still cheap, dude.

Attached: mg69_mh_car_all.jpg (600x800, 504K)

yeah I know yousician is shit, but the feedback was pretty good for learning the basic chords

but yeah this guitartuna thing looks great, ugh I wish I knew about it sooner. I know for a fact I saw it way back but I thought it was just a tuner lmao

Only an authentic Fender Mustang is good enough.

Attached: azusa_1.png (510x570, 198K)

nah I already decided I want a Jaguar guitar, I'm saving up for it atm.

its the honest guy again.
i like your attitude but your voice is so rigid im sorry, maybe you just arent singing the right song. try listening to yourself and tell me its pleasnt
between 1:11 and 1:22 i felt like shooting myself
theres a few parts i like 1:29 was nice
but most of this is shit brother,im sorry

why it's shit?

it was reccomended to me by a friend,im glad i can give this great gift to someone else, as a beginner the most important thing is to practice and as efficiently as you can, guitartuna made this very easy for me
simple, i dont like how it sounds for the majority of the song

but why it's shit so i can fix it

mustang pickups sound terrible. forget the weebery, there are better shows to weeb over these days (bang dream has not one but three gibson players if you count argonavis). get one with p90s.

English isn't your native language is it? Your accentuation and pronunciation are all wrong. Right now that is the main problem. Musically you aren't even singing the notes. And at 1:07 your voice completely cracked. You haven't taken lessons and you can tell.

i already said this earlier, im no expert on singing so i cant seriously help, but i will offer my honest opinion if you feel like taking it, and my honest, unproffesional is that you are a bad singer right now, someone else might think you have the voice of an angel but its not me and im not a liar

yes i am taking fuckin lessons and practicing. what do you mean im not singing the notes, i am.
my voice is cracking because it's damaged from the experiments i done with it, it's healing slowly.

Well, yeah, but the shape of the neck also has a lot to do with it. Going from an LP to an Ibanez is a big change up, and an Ibanez is "faster", for certain kinds of playing, although some players have pushed through that and can play on anything.
But it always comes down to personal preference, in the end. It's all in your head - and nothing wrong with that. We're not robots. If some vague "it feels right" thing happens with one guitar, that makes you play better, BUY IT.
Take Explorers. Love how they look. HATE how they sit in your lap, or hang when you strap one on. That's me. If I hate playing it, why would I buy one?
Strat? Tele? LP? PRS? Ibenez? Sure! (Especially if you're paying.) I'll play any of them, and probably be perfectly happy.

try listening to yourself, please

sometimes its not very well intonated but i am singing the notes in general

>what do you mean im not singing the notes, i am.
>am singing the notes in general
Why are you even asking for advice if you're going to completely disregard it?

The main issue is your pronunciation, it's very clear your straining to even get those words out. It's not your native language. Have you actually tried singing, but not in English? Do you know who Seu Jorge is? He translates English lyrics over to Portuguese and it works perfectly. You know, because he can actually speak Portuguese.

im trying to get you to say that the intonation is just bad but im not totally not singing the notes.

i had just learned the song, i didnt work much on the words.

i dont know anything about notes, except for the ones on my E string, i just really cant stand your singing voice, you came here for criticism so dont take it personally and start saying stupid things like my voice is cracking because its damaged, if it is then why record at all? take a break from singing and drink tea, you sound like you have a sore throat consider singing some death songs, i love 'genetic reconstruction' to practice my vocals

i know how you feel about explorers. all my life, i wanted a FIREBIRD. i would dream about it. i wanted a firebird so badly user. finally years later, i went to a music store to buy one. it felt like a fucking boat oar. it was awful. just a big, heavy lump hanging off my neck while the guitar's neck dove down. i was so disappointed.

I'm pretty certain the Chibsons are made at night at the same factories Epiphone/Gibson subcontracts out to make theirs. That's how it works there - make the customer's product in the daytime, run more at night to sell through Ali Baba or the other sites like that. I know a guy who sank $50k into an original idea for a cell phone product, had it designed here, did all the research, went over to China, tried to find the most honest supplier - and they ran his product at night and flooded the market with bootlegs. He lost everything. They were on the market before he was. He bought a bootleg, they used the same molds his were made with, they were identical, down to a defect internally from making the casting mold, that didn't matter for function.

No you don't understand. Your accent is too thick. You are trying to sing in a language you can not speak.

nobody cares outside of /gg/

Such a tragic thing.

Ever heard a caucasian baritone try to sing moe anime songs?

>SHUWAAA SHWAAA HAJKAYTA KIMUHCHI NO... NAMAY
>OSHITTAY YO KIMI WA SHIT... TA RU
>SHU WAH SHU WAH DORI DORI MIHN YEHA

i read it in a country accent, like primus, with the yeha as yeehaw

Not him but he's giving you genuine advice not just meme answers. It's much easier to sing in the language you can actually speak because you can miss how to say the words correctly or it just sounds completely off like the example said.

Just watch a video of weeaboos doing bad covers of anime intros when they speak 0 japanese or that Chinese guy from American idol.

Nothing wrong with any of those woods, unless you want to dive into the "tonewood" bullshit. They're all hardwoods, just not ones classically used for instruments. Pau ferro is just a species of rosewood, and the others are hardwoods that typically have been used for flooring. But you want hardwood for the neck and body, so I don't see the problem.

there's no brazilian queen

and i can watch entire youtube videos in english and understand what they say

What's the hardest thing you can play on guitar, lads?

Attached: file.png (450x320, 148K)

You when you sing in a language you don't speak: youtube.com/watch?v=DifBz2Rvq_4
You when you give up on that bullshit and practice guitar instead: youtube.com/watch?v=6Joh7-N1Xjk

I don't know if a brazilian can see what's so wrong with that but heed this wisdom anyways

Attached: df9fe539f4283067027c97f826480b82.png (1371x1029, 1.42M)

how long have you been singing in english? my native languge is very different but i feel my voice is used to singing in english because i sing alot everyday since i was a kid, mostly in english (its how i learned the languge). if you have been doing it for a long time and it sounds so out of place, you are singing the wrong song friend

it's ok when slavs do it though
youtube.com/watch?v=d-VVnhwB4Gw

Being able to listen to someone and understand what they're saying is completely different than being fluent in speaking that language and being able to enunciate words correctly.

probably skeletons of society by slayer, ive been playing for less then a year

user, slavs do everything okay.

its not ok its just funny

HI Timanon

a couple years

so what, it all comes with practice.

Too expensive to machine back in the day. Now with C&C, there's more opportunity to explore the idea, and for making hollow necks, because metal necks are fucking heavy. I tried one in a store one time, holy fuck.
We'll probably see a lot of work with carbon and other composites, as time goes on. But there will always be those who insist on wood, and it's fine, too. But I'd be interested in what an aluminum or titanium alloy neck with a carbon fiber fretboard would sound like. Might sound like shit, but wood isn't the only material with resonant qualities to it.

that first video is better than his singing, sadly. at least when girls do it it's cute.

>chacha!
>chacha!

fucking adorable.

Pau ferro is a species of rosewood. It's genuine, it's just ONE species of rosewood.

can you record a song you have been singing for a long time? id like to compare myself to you

You might want to hire a real vocal trainer if you've been practicing for a few years and you're still this bad.

You're not singing the right notes, and you're not in key, in any form. You're all over the map. You admit you're a beginner, what exactly do you expect to accomplish posting samples that show what we already know? If you want asspats, that's not happening. Keep working at it, come back in a couple months and we'll see if you've made any progress.

desu i havent practiced singing a song for too long

ive been getting some instruction lately and im improving. i dont know how to improve my intonation more. i had to build up my pitch from scratch.

wtf i checked the vocal notes on the guitar before singing.

it's fucking lit
youtube.com/watch?v=tNooMUVJdC8

Your accent makes you sound like a retard, stick to guitar.

Even if you were an in-tune retard singing is about the language as much as it is about the notes.

>wtf i checked the vocal notes on the guitar before singing.
Then you didn't do a very good job at it. Like the other user said, if you're not going to listen, and just come back with lame responses, I can only think you're trolling for (you)s, which is why I'm not going to give you any more.

okay that one was good, but id never listen to this by choice, maybe if he sang purely in russian id consider

i'll sing to brazilians in the end and i already say i didnt work much on the accent for this song

no i did it's all in the scale and chord tones.

Fermented Offal Discharge

Yeah and someone singing anime songs in an American accent to Americans is still gonna sound bad

They're going to ask why the nonsense instead of something you can pronounce

Here you should read this

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning–Kruger_effect

How the fuck do I write twinkly math rock without it sounding like mindless noodling?

Kiesel Vader 6

goddamn man ill prove i figured the melody in the guitar, wait a sec

Get a dean trans am

Kek. Trust chinks get dinked

get a good chord progression in the back, and dont noodle too hard, only as much as you feel is necessary

Explains the quality being the same as epiphone.

thats why they are called yellow niggers desu

how much money should I spend on my first guitar? whats a good brand?

Music theory

They're opportunist insects
Depends if new or used. KOREAN DEAN.

A strong bassline and drums as foundation

>how much money should I spend on my first guitar?
idk it depends on how likely it is you'll stick with it, how well you treat your stuff, and how much cash you have to put up. you could buy a used high end guitar and sell it for what you bought it for or more if you quit, or you could buy a $50 used squier because you'd probably break it. either way BUY USED.
>whats a good brand?
almost all of them, just avoid
>Tagima
>Dean
>Dean
>Dean, mostly
>Schecter unless you're a girl going for the gothic lolita look

$400, max. Get past learning, and into actual playing, then decide what you want/need.

Perfect. A Schecter it is.

this has been asked in this thread allready, just get something that looks good and not over 200$ youll hate it eventually anyway, i always reccomend a squire for a beginner a low price range

vocaroo.com/i/s12OvglZMxGF

can you be a little more specific? which brand do you recommend

I don't know what twinkly math rock is but the only time composing songs made sense to me was when yoshiki talked about it, and he does it by writing the sheet music

it doesnt really matter, dont fall for memes, just get something you like looking at and is playble

Like $200-300 minimum, if you have a job then go ahead and spend a little more.

Good brands at that price range are Squier and Yamaha. You can get better quality guitars if you buy used but since you're a beginner don't go through direct lines of buying guitars get them at a guitar store since a good shop won't buy broken shit and you won't know what to look out for.

whats the difference between a bass and a guitar? which one is easier to learn

Go for the abalone!

I have one regret in guitar and that isn't starting with the expensive one I wanted. Every guitar I bought disappointed me and then I bought the exact strat in the exact color I wanted to begin with and it was as perfect as I expected.

Of course I used to play an acoustic years earlier for my highschool brostrummer phase.

Fuck beginner crap. It's for kids who break shit and give up on every other hobby they attempt.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 187K)

thanks ill look for squier and yamaha when i go to the shop soon

the bass does dom dom, the guitar does dim dim

You're not even in time. What is this? Why would you even record, let alone post this?

that about sums it up

stop giving sambo (yous)

you shouldn't start playing guitar if you don't have a dream guitar, desu

it's that guitar you see yourself with when you think "what if I played guitar?". if you don't have that you'll quit, you'll never be fully devoted. guitar has to complete you.

it's just a demonstration of the melody in the guitar, as i said
you're just playing with me, fuck off i'm going to sleep

new thread:

They're practically identical, except for those new shitty circuit board mounted pots Epi uses now - which they probably assemble at a different factory. I would not be shocked if the bodies and necks and everything else are made in the same factories as the authentic Epi's.
That's why Apple has more security in their Chinese factories than most countries, and most militaries. They know China will rob them blind at any opportunity. (and do, as much as they can)

Because trolling, yo.

the notes user the fuckin vocal melody notes that's all

no trollin

>imagine letting an user get to you this much
Kek
