>tfw you see yourself in the mirror with a genuine Gibson™ Les Paul Standard for the first time
My guitar teacher wants me to learn melodious and harmonious minor. The fuck am I gonna use that shit? I play pentatonics
Improvised counterpoint in a baroque style
like most authoritative "dats a fact of life!" statements made on /gg/ nobody actually believes this
it stands for student edition
what PRS is trying to say is if you aren't already competent at guitar, a performing professional, doing gigs and making records, you don't need a better guitar and you wouldn't appreciate it if you had one. the masters of toanwads honestly do not believe you would appreciate a nice gutiar because you suck.
Any guesses who the band was?
If you're going to actually play music for people you don't need anything more than two hands a les paul.
>tfw you see yourself in the mirror with a genuine ESP™ for the first time
The best guitars currently on the market are Knaggs but none of you can afford one lol
>that fat autist with cargos, running shoes and sunglasses
Every fucking time. Gibson player and pentatonic fetishist for sure.
>Tfw you see yourself being praised in music reviews with your genuine Ibanez™ for the first time
Next time have some taste and start the thread with an actual guitarist instead of some kid's cartoon character
That's an anime girl though
Thoughts on the Martin Miller guitar program?
Why's he so fabulous, lads
The thread was autosaging for an hour and on page 9, if you wanted the OP pic to be so different you had plenty of time to make it yourself.
Also no homo I'd fuck him, his feet look a little off though
Ibanez: Cool guys like Satriani and Steve Vai
Fender: Cool guys like Stevie Ray and Jeff Beck
Gibson: Cool guys like Gary Moore and Slash
ESP: Lame guys from bands like Metallica, Nightwish, and Slayer
>tfw you hear that genuine Gibson™ Les Paul Standard tone coming from your amp for the first time
ESP's roster also includes uh, this guy
>METAL! \M/
unless your amp is a Dumble™, you may as well be playing through a Chibson.
and the only pedal that should be on your board is an original Klon Centaur.
your rig is only as good as the weakest link.
>I play pentatonics
Imagine bragging about being a talentless boomer
t. probably has an E-II and thinks it's an ESP
Kek what a fucking fruit
>still can't play Cliffs of Dover
Just play with your pedals bro
>Fender: Cool guys like Stevie Ray and Jeff Beck
You forgot cool guys like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, George Harrison, David Gilmour and Rory Gallagher.
You're unironically a faggot if you wouldn't fuck his boipucci while his gf filmed it
>Just play with your pedals bro
That's what you're gonna be stuck doing if you can only do pentatonics.
>Cool guys
>Over the age of 30
lol
cool guys like gilgamesh didn't even play guitar how's that for old farts
I use the pentatonic boxes as a framework. It's easy to add a note here and there to change the flavor with out having to memorize a whole bunch of new scale patterns.
What's with the shitting on tube amps and a loadbox? Seems like the best of both worlds if you asked me.
*sip*
nothing beats a mic'd amp
they sound like straight shit. lol waste your money and find out for yourself though
Why I can't shred? I practice hard but it doesn't happen
you don't practice correctly and/or enough
How do they sound like shit if I'm using IRs? You end up using IRs with you digital shit? You do realize that your modelling stuff is trying to sound like a tube amp right?
lol
This guy is the best guitarist on the planet. He uses a Charvel.
What's your excuse for not using a Charvel, /gg/?
I'm not paid to use one like he is
Spoke wheel truss rod adjusters are the best though
you dont practice 10 hours like steve vai did.
>Charvel
im p sure he is a suhr endorser nowaday.
He seems like he can play anything from slap to metal to a fretless guitar better than anyone else but his music sucks ass, the only good song he has is Wonderful Slippery Thing.
because i like the way my tele sounds better for what i like to play
Learn the Natural Minor scale. It's just a pentatonic shape with a few extra notes and it's way more emotional.
>charvel: what color do you want senpai
>guth: theres only one color in the world for me: kaka brown
Who and who brand
I have a made in Japanese one in candy blue
>he can't afford a Gibson, the only guitar which is good enough, because he can't find a job which will allow him to dilate for the necessary 2.5 daily hours on the clock
pretty sure your choice of guitar is basically a fashion accessory
once you get something priced about $750-1500 (some brands are cheaper than others, ie: fender) it'll stay in tune and sound good no matter what it is and going past that price just gets you better paintjobs and a different model name (no dude, you see, it's the les paul STANDARD! it's better than that cheap studio!).
post it then
Gentile reminder not to play scales
Are you a tranny or do you have a tranny "gf" you get all this fascinating info from?
Who the hell is that?
>muh Amerimutt made
>he can't afford a Gibson
Indeed, that why i bought a epiphone instead
Tube amps are antiquated technology and shit.
>do you have a tranny "gf" you get all this fascinating info from?
Her name is Google. She's one of those annoying SJW trannies.
Sorry, I like MEN and not some feminized fruitcake for closet heteros who can't score pussy
This is corroborated by pros but /gg/ will never accept it as truth.
Also 9/10 times someone is either paid to use a certain guitar or they're so old they grew up with a choice of three models so no shit they play one of those three.
What do you google?
>What do trannies do?
>How do you become a tranny?
>Which medications do I take if I want to grow breasts?
>What do trannies do to their penises?
>How long do you have to dilate an artificial vagina?
Tbh if I saw your search history i'd be a little concerned
yeah playing in key is for plebs
just bee urself
unironically true
You have too much taste
i seriously hate this, this bass player i know has this in his stubborn head not to learn theory and you can guess how he sounds
les paul of les paul fame shredded and he's widely regarded as having great taste
of course he did it properly with no distortion and an action high enough to ensure a clear tone (i recommend 2mm at the 12th fret minimum).
>Tube amps are antiquated technology and shit.
^ this tube amps only provide a parabolic curve which is very easy to emulate and the chaos theory inside a transformer and power amp can be emulated too.
>my vagina when he doesn't play a Gibson
Objectively false.
John Mayer:
>“When I’m playing on people’s sessions these days, I don’t usually bring an amp; I record all my guitars through my Akai MPC [X],” Mayer claims. “Why? Well, because that’s what the rest of the music is suggesting. When everyone is using virtual instruments and virtual effects, there’s no oxygen.
>“Those frequencies are so well cordoned off, a Bassman amp with three mics put on it literally will not fit inside the song. There’s a lot of resistance to that from producers.”
>“My guitar parts are getting on three times more records these days than when I came in with my guitar amp and a couple pedals and mics. It wasn’t fitting the lexicon, so I had to really look at that and ask, ‘Is the old way of doing things really honouring the electric guitar?’
tl;dr: A mic'd amp removes too many useful mixing frequencies from the signal, mostly via the limitations of the speaker cabinet.
like shit?
Jcum's mantra, is this his mentor?
this is also why pros are shifting away from pre-voiced passive pickups for actives with a wide, flat response
besides the high impedance signal loss issue
>hands steady
>rocks in my wheelbarrow heavy
>backhoe bucket
>dirt confetti
>bossman told me to get off my phone already
>shirt wet
>smelly and sweaty
thats all i got right now i work on it more later
ok well think you changed my mind, thanks john mayer, huge fan
>"Vagina"
God, direct in on acoustics is the worst guitar tone
because it's just a sterile electric that needs EQd for the final mix
reminder to all piezo and EMG users to get an active EQ pedal
people did post their gear but they got chased off every single time by some bitter fag who couldn't afford it
Dumbass
>they got chased off every single time
how to get someone to never post their gear again 101
>durr that's a chibson!
>fake gibson!
>CHIBSON!
>anime girl guitar
>i bet you can't even play
Anyone else turn into the shittiest player when you have to record anything?
Pathetically
>rent free
I post my gear occasionally, but I'm not the sort of retard who would post the same goddamn pictures in every fucking thread
What is the meaning of that pic from your understanding?
mostly when im on stage in front of people.
What, you don't have brain damage?
A well known published guitarist once came here anonymously and posted his guitar and some of his playing. After seeing the responses, and being surprised that nobody recognized him, he left and never came back again, figuring that nobody in the thread actually liked guitars or guitar music.
Only when I record it with camera or when I play in front of someone
who was it
Yeah, I'm seriously considering making my next project guitar one with flat frequency response active pickups.
How do I get into the habbit of writing more syncopated and rhythmycally interesting riffs? Everything I jam out is usually just accented on the strong beats.
Well, yeah. is referring to electric guitars, not acoustics or acoustic/electrics. Everyone knows DI'd acoustics sound terrible.
>being this new
You're always shitty, you just pay no attention to it until you need to record.
forgive me for practicing and making music and friends instead of wasting my life on Yea Forums
>CRT
is he playing fightas so the frame ratio of the CRT actually matters ?
Practice not playing on the string breasts
Speak for yourself fag
practice jazz lines and put emphasis on "the swing"
later on just place swing in your normal playing
I really like my ibanez ltd1 user.
based
This nigga has like half a lung and hemophilia
imagine not playing an authentic american made Fender stratocaster. (or that dope new PRS Silver Sky)
>He plays on 9s because his weak ass home hands can't handle higher gauges.
Eat a dick, Carl
he also has a thing for traps apparently
He looks ugly as fuck and can't dress himself on his own

fretless guitars? am I spending money on a meme or what
why dont you tighten your spring bro???
>*plays 8s*
nothing personal, steve. maybe one day you'll be able to pick like me.
he probably has a cute little feminine penis
I set it up that way so i can raise the pitch more.
On the other hand you sound like a gay man
I just thought he was a typical wimpy college student
>out of tune playing intensifies
>out of tune playing intensifies
it is jcope after all
have fun playing chords in tune
Stays in tune just fine.
thats pretty much how i got my strat from Guitar Center, but I wanted to do more bends and wasnt really interested in the whammy bar nonsense so i tightened that fucker down hard
[x] doubt, you probably have a bad ear for tuning
Also that guitar is ugly as fuck. Subtle flame is the only good figured maple and it only belongs in burst finishes.
K
If only the same could be said for your playing.
K
Is that Belew? Dude looks like shit if so
I don't know if they're a meme but for 90% of applications I feel like fretted guitars would be just fine. If you feel like experimenting with microtones they could be cool maybe. I can see someone doing some experimental shit with them but it's not like bass where there's a really distinctive timbre change when using fretless
the letter you've never associated with the number of dollars you get paid in a week?
yeah it’s belew
seething
Ultra high test visage
What guitar does he play /gg/
It's hard to believe, I know
vintage tele
Condor clp
is anxiety day after a show normal?
How boomer players see themselves
no, that's how they actually are
>flipping the photo so no one knows you're a lefty
lol
it's a laff from me
This ho's mouth looks like a slit nowmsayin
Why would you have anxiety AFTER a show?
realizing you'll never be this baller
he slept with the bass player
Drank a bit too much, moved on the stage too much, fucked up a note here and there. Basically fear of appearing as a douche.
Then a few days later I get a video and its not nearly as exaggerated as it seemed
>Tfw no bassist gf to bang after shows
why even live
careful what you wish for
>Moved on stage too much
Oh no. People might have thought you were having fun.
>esp
horrendous taste
I called pall stanley to get honest feedback on the video. He said you sucked.
>immeasurable disappointment
Based Paul
>24 fret shortscale bass
>buying anything but a superstrat from ESP
I bet she's in a shitty metal band and only plays roots
(Not true by the way)
You can get a kiesel with 3x the hardware for the same price faggot
Polyphia was good until they started dressing like faggots
Kiesel always remind me of a ballsack that hangs off each side of some dude's shorts
accurate
Polyphia wasn't good until they started dressing like faggots
It was just instrumental metalcore before
is this faggot wearing makeup ironically?
No hes a faggot they have mental disease
bass tier lists
Warwick > Spector > Fender > MusicMan > >>>>> Ibanez >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Schecter >>>>>>>>>>> ESP
who is that?
So what's the difference there really? Build quality? Bass just goes thump thump and I have a hard time believing that squier basses sound any different from custom shop stuff.
About to buy a cheap les paul. Is the Condor CLP2S any good?
>he's a bigger whore than Aya Hirano
I like my handmade Brazilian bass. It sounds pretty good and the Jacarandá fretboard is pretty dark
The ESP standard series (pretty cheap, great guitars) was discontinued after the nips found out that they were being jewed
>be ESP
>only sell expensive custom shop guitars with your brand name in Japan, everything else is called shit like edwards
>enjoy a prestigious brand image as "those guitars only serious pros play", every scrawny teen in tokyo dreams of owning one
>export cheaper guitars with ESP on the headstock to the US
>nips re-import them, can now own ESPs without paying six hundred thousand yens
>flip out and change the name to LTD elite so nips can't buy US market guitars with the ESP name
>sales go down
>flip out and change the name to E-II, increase the price slightly since it doesn't say LTD on th eheadstock
>introduce ESP USA which does hand made semi-customs with limited options ala suhr, slightly below ESP Japan in price
>ESP Japan continues doing full on customs and grossly overpriced stock guitars ie: espguitars.com
>and for no reason at all ibanez got a little more popular
And after all of that their basses still suck.
Say what you want about their classic fender-branded series but fender doesn't do shit like that, their basses are good, and american made charvel is the same quality as branded nip ESPs albeit with bolt on necks...at half the cost. ESP is beyond gibson tier these days. Imagine if Gibson made every LP up to the standard an epiphone, made the LP standard a new brand entirely, and opened up a pseudo-custom shop where you just picked your colors and pickups through a website, so nobody would ever accuse them of making guitars for poor people.
The LP standard (now probably called the Les-II) would still be a good guitar but just lol.
Sound character and comfort. Nowadays quality is more or less equal.
You dont have a bass amp.
I use a 92 korean squier p-bass, it sounds good to me and i tried plenty of others, i mainly play guitar but for me its more than perfect.
And if gibson did this it would still be made in the same factory, they just wouldn't want you to think they made guitars for poor people.
Ooga booga
This is an anonymous website, you don't know what gear I own or who I am
the biggest meme about bass is that you need a bass amp, most amps that are over 300$ can play both guitar and bass excellent
>my boypussy when the most expensive guitar he has is less than $1000
bassists > guitarists but guitar > bass
ah yes, i'm sure people will be able to hear you play bass through a guitar amp, on a live setting, and that you won't melt the voice coil as soon as you turn it up a bit
Naw I saw the Aristocrats the other day he was playing Charvels through a Kemper Profiler
That's true at low db levels like practicing in your room but live settings that's not true at all you'll hear the difference. Plus with bass amps you can get some with 15 inch speakers easily for only like $500 new to give you an even fuller sound.
Why was the trachefag personality killed off?
All this talk of bass x guitar amps makes me want to play big chonks with my bass through my 6505 and mesa 4x12
Guys on guitar forums said it would be fine a decade ago, I trust them
get a hpf/lpf pedal so that you dont blow the speakers.
so i'm thinking about buying a guitar, I'm trying to learn metal stuff like ffdp, a7x, trivium etc, and I was looking at some ibanez models and i was hoping you guys could give me advice, mostly like why does the cheaper one look like its better than the other? what are the differences? They seem like the same thing pretty much, but i don't know why
should i get this
sweetwater.com
or this
sweetwater.com
Both of those suck. Buy a shitty but playable guitar used at a pawn shop or something (bring a guitarist) and save up money for a good one. Never buy beginner gear new.
wait so what should i get then? i was told strats are only good for like, blink 182 type stuff and to stick to other types
You should get a job
i have a job, that's how im buying the guitar?
Buy a cheap japanese ibanez with a floating trem system and start making melodic death metal mixed with dream pop and call the new genre metalic dreaming.
ok......so which of those two should i get?...
I notice he starts to forget about the overall cast when he's working on a new personality. When there's a lull like this usually a new persona appears in short order.
Idfk i bought my jap ibanez from my countries ebay, check ebay, the local equivelant of that and/or reverb. as long as it's not a gio you should be fine.
isnt it depressing how people just buy guitars to play other people's music
Is there ever a reason to spend >$1500 on a guitar?
I notice around the $1200 mark you start seeing stainless steel frets and other quality of life improvements. Most guitars don't even have a soft case sub-$800 in my experience lately.
Watch any video of them playing live, they aren't even good at what they are going for. Mediocre guitarists that make bad music.
what's wrong with gio?
faggot
I've seen this several times. Are you actually looking for someone to answer you or is this a copypasta?
what do you get out of pressing the right fret at the right time, in an order that someone else decided probably decades ago. are you really that uncreative
i don't understand what the problem with gio's or playing covers is, i just want to learn to play
second one just based on how gross the first one looks
don't listen to the idiots telling you to get something expensive for your first guitar, that'll be fine
but the first one is cheaper, shouldn't i just go with the more inexpensive one? or is there something wrong with it
Gio is cheap shit imo never played a good gio in my life, maybe good gio's exist but i haven't had the experience of playing one. But if you're starting out any guitar with a proper setup will do
Neither. Those are both really poorly made and might need expensive fixes that would make them $400 guitars.
Buy a $400 used shecter or PRS SE.
A buzzy piece of shit that needs tuned five times a day and needs a weekly truss rod adjustment will only make you hate guitar. With cheap guitars like that, you're going to get a piece of shit like that 7/10 times and then the 3/10 faggots will say "mines fine lol".
Showing off. Earlier it was said that showing off with your guitar was ESP's entire business model, for instance.
I mean sure, if you like it
I just think it's incredibly ugly but who cares what we think. You'll be replacing it in a year or so anyway if you actually stick with it
ok....but how are they shit like i want to learn
i can't afford most schecters, and my friend told me prs are like strats and aren't good for metal
>$1500
No. The only guitar in this world that costs more than that and is worth its cost is Ernie Ball Music Man's John Petrucci Signature, that's it.
2 poorfags, seething that they can't afford real instruments
pawn shop dude buy a sub 200$ piece of shit if you're lucky you can find something nice with a beat to fuck body
play for a year save up some money go to a guitar shop try out everything once you know how to play find what suits you
Shit = cheaper build quality
Gio's come from factories in china or indonesia, those countries are associated with making a bit worse guitars compared to countries like mexico and japan.
I think it goes US>JAP>MEX>CHI/IND
PRS's are all over metal
For what you want to learn, any guitar with a bridge humbucker will do.
the first one is sub 200 so I should buy that? I don't trust pawn shops
i still don't understand what it is about them that's bad though, do they come with like bad strings or something?
prs looks like a nrivana type guitar, i'm trying to play like, real metal like a7x, like heavy music
Oh, okay
We're getting Roman'd
I forget there are people this into roleplaying
Cheaper wood, mass produced, worse electronics, worse hardware, everything is just worse besides the price which makes sense. You pay less but you get less.
>PRS aren't good for metal
Your friend is a retard.
When I was 13 I wanted a guitar right that moment. My parents bought me a gio. It wouldn't stay in tune, some days the strings were high or low, and the frets felt like sandpaper. I hated it, it didn't make sense to my 13 year old brain why a guitar wouldn't just stay the way you left it. So I quit.
I finally started again with a PRS SE 9 years later. It stayed where I fucking left it. If I had just saved up my allowance for a year I could have had an extra 8 years of guitar practice with a decent one.
You do a good job at pretending to be 13
what the fuck are you even talking about?
but would it be ok to learn on?
i'm 19 dickhead
Is there a decent Schecter with a non locking trem?
why the fuck can't any of you dudes just give me a straight answer? are you guys retarded or something in here? does anyone even play guitar here?
okay, you're sixteen then.
Save your money and get a real guitar.
it's ok but atleast get a proper setup done(bring it to a guitar store and ask for them to set it up).
Who the fuck is gio?
yeah the USA strat ripoffs
he's my much older cousin but my mom said we're not allowed to talk about him anymore
Cheap Indo/Chinese guitars have lower build quality, they're more likely to have a bunch of different problems like buzzing frets or fucked up knobs/selectors. That said most cheap guitars are nowhere near as bad as they used to be, if you want a guitar go to a shop and try one you want to buy in person, spending $700 dollars on a hobby you might abandon is stupid anyway, you can always buy a new guitar later.
>jCOPE
thanks for all the shitty non-advice assholes. literally not a single person can even explain the differences between these two thats all i was asking for and not a single person can explain
the difference is one is like dried up dogshit and the other one is like a fresh stink log
they're both shit
Get the gio and stop posting here.
buy the gio but used, and save up for a real guitar like an ESP Snapper
fuck you guys
Fuck you too you useless sack of shit.
ESP Snapper.
Wtf is this /soc/ or /gg/
sorry i can't tell the difference between trash
Based Genuine ESP™ Snapper poster
I wasn't even talking to you. You replied to me. I literally just found out what the fuck a gio is.
whats an esp snapper
faggot
>whats an esp snapper
the best guitar on the planet at the moment
you probably play 9s yet you call me a faggot
You talk like a fag, thats why
What guitar would giorno play?
To me He looks like someone whod use a godin multiac
I'll buy a snapper once it has a hsh variant.
I prefer the M-II myself.
found the cumhead
whats so good about it
you're just sayin stupid shit
The named the electric stand Red hot
And the guy with fire abillites ACDC
Found the Newfriend ;)
You'd have to play one to find out. It's like the guitar isn't there and the music in your head comes into existence on its own.
All the best shredders play ESP.
Implying that's not based
>you're just sayin stupid shit
just because your shit brain doesn't understand my intelectual guitar god speak doesn't mean it's stupid you uneducated plebbian.
But i live in sambo land
You sound salty but you arent wrong
>Got hit in head yesterday
>Sweep picking sounds significantly scratchier, slower and sloppier
WELP
>whats so good about it
its made by an eleven and this faggot is a weeb.
Fucking hell really? What kind of hit
What's a good guitar and amp for a small beginner twink? I have a $2000 budget and am open to suggestions.
>gets hit in the head
>can finally hear what he actually sounds like
you fucking suck
google it
>Have guitar
>Love it to death
>Smooth warm tone
>Sneeze
>Headstock hits desk
>very small crack in the finish where the headstock hit
>no creaking noises or visible cracks, no outward sign that the (set) neck might have been unseated
>only one string is out of tune
>truss rod adjustment is now off a little, but after fixing it stays put
>guitar is bright and twangy from that day forward
>hate that guitar now
apparently you can literally beat the tone out of your guitar
Put like 1500 aside for the future, buy literaly any guitar for 200$ and an amp for 200+$ , i recommend a blackstar id, it has some built in effects and imo is more than worth the money
Here's a suggestion: let me pound that boipucci from the back
either a fender jaguar or a prs 245
Save your money and get a Snapper.
Shillposter
I'm sorry user, you hit your child on the head and now it's retarded. It might be time to take it out back and shoot it, then try over.
Buy a nice acoustic instead. Learn how to play clean properly. When you can do barre chords in time all along the neck without any of the strings sounding muted you're ready for electric
>muh Brazilian monkey made guitar
A change that small wouldn't affect an electric guitar especially when you run it through an amp
This brazillian logic is why everyone from there is so bad.
I started on electric but i agree.
>2k budget
Tough. You need at least 4 or 5 grand for a serious instrument. Just ask any violinist or pianist what they have to pay for something that sounds good enough that it's just their skill that shows through.
Here's the best I can do:
ESP LTD SN series guitar
Hughes and Kettner tubemeister 20
Mesa 1x12
Or just get an electric and use heavier strings.
or don't conflate finger strength with skill
this doesn't do much, you're just building your calluses and finger muscles faster so you can play both electric and acoustic
if anything it'll fuck up your technique on electric since it requires such a precise and light touch, and you'll sound like one of those eternally dissonant blues players. it's thought that bending was discovered when someone used to acoustic tried an electric with 9s for the first time.
I´m a violinist and you dont need an expensive violin, you only it need to be properly set up by a pro.
And stradivarious violins or any italian violin it is a meme.
Acousticfags actually believe this
Yep this is true people always overlook stuff like this. Playing on 12s and 13s on acoustic will give you a naturally heavy strumming hand which can fuck you over when you go to electric using 9s or 10s where you don't have to put much effort into strumming because your pickups shoots the signal straight to the amp.
shut up wes you drug addict shitter.
absolute meme, anything more than a $1000 guitar and $1000 amp (roughly) is a status symbol and that's the tippity top end for people that can hear the difference if you're playing a genre that demands a shitty tone anyways, like anything related to blues and rock music, you don't even need that. Your setup and tone could easily make that $2000 sound like $1000 (ie: low action and lots of distortion) and yet boomers still do this:
>MUH AUTHENTIC GIBSON REISSUE
>MUH DIEZEL AMP
>TIME TO PLAY MASTER OF PUPPETS AT 3/4 SPEED DOWNTUNED SLIGHTLY AND THEN SPEED UP THE RECORDING
My name is niko, but i am addicted to drugs
Im calling the cops
Niko niko nii!
They're basically the same configuration. Probably very similar quality pickups/hardware. What's the biggest price gap is probably the quality of wood they used. Mahogany is more expensive than pine, and seems to be either one solid piece, a bookmatched set, or a veneer. The cheaper one could very well be 3+ pieces glued together.
The overall finish of both is probably of similar quality, so I'd just suggest for you to find a place to try them both out yourself
Fuck off
What if I am a cop :^)
That LTD elite/E-II rebranding was a right fiasco
Do you guys think I can get free lessons if I let my guitar instructor fuck me? He always rubs my thigh when I do something well and smiles.
Ayeshterayu, tranny poster, go shill some gibson
I'm fucking my guitar instructor in the ass and only get $5 off.
Yea, the strings suck on a cheapo guitar. If you upgrade them to elixir or diaddarios then it's gunna sound and play a lot more like a $500 guitar. Newbs just don't get this.
Nice
Just bought picks and strings from my luthier
Ok got a better one, start dating him. You might get a free guitar out of it.
Damn you spent $10? That's an entire day of waging for some people ITT.
I think i payed 60$ for a set up when in actuiallty i think he only changed the strings, how do i check the man did his job?
what kinds user?
Dude give him a reach around next time he'll have to make it at least $10 off
Professional setups are a meme unless you're doing something like setting the string radius on a new floyd rose or carving slots into fresh saddles for a new TOM bridge for a les paul
>He doesn't understand craftsmanship, collector's value, appreciating assets, historic significance, or straight ahead high end equipment
TAKE MY ADVICE GUYS. MUH GRAPES Bu.. BU.. I LOVE MY GIO STRAIT INTO THE KATANA LEtme Go check that these are still cool @ r/guitar
you're obviously not a very good one
Or if you don't know anything about guitar and are too lazy to learn how to twist a nut little by little and you're starting to get a bit of fret buzz or high action or something like that
If it's playing fine and you take it in for a setup, yeah you memed yourself
Did you measure shit before taking it to him or did you just blindly throw money at him and expected him to wave a magic wand on the guitar. Setups really aren't work it the most they do is adjust the saddle height, fix the intonation, and make sure the neck is straight with the truss rod. I learned all of that like the first month of owning a guitar and buying a ruler then watching a youtube video it's really simple.
I doubt he'd try to rip you off though, luthiers only stay in business based on the word of mouth from other musicians if they get a bad reputation people won't trust their $1000+ pieces of property with them.
>appreciating assets
Unless you bought the personal guitar of a rock star complete with COA, some other collectors item like those $5000 anime girl guitars, or struck gold with an amazing run of a specific model that was never equaled in quality again, at the best your guitar will depreciate slower than others.
Look at the price of a brand new Gibson Les Paul Standard and then look at what they're selling for used on ebay. Some real asset appreciation there.
>craftsmanship
it's all CNC machinmes and they all do the same job
>collectors value, historic significance, appreciating assets
only applies to a minority of specific guitars. a '58 is a collectible, a 2018 is money down the drain. not all old items become collectible.
>high end equipment
past a certain price point it isn't objectively better made, you're just memeing yourself and most people think you're a retard.
>you will never invent the greatest guitar known to man and throw in the invention of multitrack recording while you're at it because fuck it, why not
Buy your anime girl guitar while you still can, /gg/. These will only go up in value.
Not him but it really depends, even shitty guitars can appreciate over time if you wait long enough. Look at 70s fenders and gibsons, both are considered terrible eras for them but now a 70s strat can sell for $3k+ if it's in good condition. A lot of people just assume old = better when fender and gibson that decade were so bad that people started buying Japanese copies.
it was the second greatest guitar known to man in the 50s. yeah. but not anymore.
and it was never the first. it postdated the telecaster by a good number of years, and on top of that the design was stolen from O.W. Applewood who submitted a nearly identical guitar to gibson years earlier.
You can't beat the original.
>schecter c1 @$500 is the pinnacle of guitar performance
Just because you think your Dean is a workhorse doesn't mean a luthier isn't going to make something better in his sleep. Not everyone is living paycheck to paycheck, kid. There are actual professionals in the world with disposable income.
I never said that. A $500 guitar is definitely downgraded and C-1s have some pretty terrible tone. I don't know how they do it, maybe an extra resistor in the wiring. I said past about $1000 you're just buying a brand name.
Im really new to guitar and i have one that came comfortble from the store and a new one that had high action, when i asked him if he could set the action lower he told ne to bring it in and by then he said some stuff about the saddles needing to be shaved down or somethiing, he had it for a whole week and it feels almost the same to me, still a little uncomfortble to play
Do you think youre arguing with me?
is that fotoflame? it looks so bad
also invest in like, a dust rag or something. surely you aren't that poor.
How am i supposed to hold a pick?
If you have a cheaper guitar the frets might be uneven so if you lower the action too much it'll buzz really bad and kill your sustain. You can lower the action if you weren't satisfied on your own though just get an allen wrench pack so you can do adjustments on your own. You need one to move the saddles on the bridge and the truss rod.
But low action isn't the answer to everything, it's probably uncomfortable because you're putting too much pressure into fretting the guitar when you really don't need to. I had that problem as a beginner too until someone told me to always put my fingers right behind the frets and curl my fingers like a fist so my fingers could go directly down easier so only my finger tips hit the string.
epiphone vs ibanez for cheap ass poorfag semi acoustic?
Hold your hand out naturally
Lightly place your thumb against the side of your index fingertip
Put the pick between them
Have just enough of the tip sticking out, not the whole damn thing
like this
I'm just dean bashing in the middle of a heated meme debate.
You can only go so far with Duncan Designs.
Exactly, search for a Harmony Stratotone anywhere.
forgot about washburns.
epiphones vs ibanez vs washburn
You tryna give my man a low skill limit?
Should be held against the side of the index finger tip, not the pad of it
New
yeah if you're some shreddy twink
real men need all the fingers on the pick they can get for bigger chugs
Oh shit I didn't even notice the middle finger in there
Actually that's the way I learned it at first too, and I do play big chungs
And then I realized I gotta switch to the proper style to get better and it sucked switching over but was necessary
