How to compose music if you can’t play any instruments, read or write sheet music or use FL Studio? I really think I could make it in the music industry with my ideas given how absolutely shitty current rock is. I would bring something new to the table
start one with me haha :) i’m just learning guitar
Jeremiah Davis
Okay what are your genres of focus?
I want to study microtonal music. King Gizzard is trying it out but they suck at songwriting so I want to do it, but better. I’m also inspired by Cambodian rock scene and Molam Generally something psychedelic-experimental
Jace Cruz
I WANNA START A BAND SO BAD
I could be the lead singer and songwriter. But how the fuck could I accomplish it? Could I just get someone educated who could write the notes off my humming? I could hum or sing the song
Gavin Anderson
Tfw I’m so lonely no one will even respond to this thread
Carter Evans
What is your social media? i have a band but i'm pretty shitty at songwriting but have lots of ideas currently
Matthew Walker
Is discord alright? What genre does your band play?
Leo Young
>or use FL Studio? >I really think I could make it in the music industry with my ideas given how absolute
Yeah sure, we play noise rock/experimental rock but are open to basically everything including indie, alt, prog, etc etc
I've experimented with industrial, drone, hip hop and other stuff before
Jacob Foster
Thats great, the problem is that I live an ocean apart probably but you have to know that I’m basically all about ideas but my technical skills are nil. I don’t know how to use FL studio and I can’t write or read sheet music But Vangelis couldn’t either so
Samuel Gutierrez
>become quorthon >black metal away i have hard time programming drums, i feel retarded and also want to buy a drum machine just so i could get drums with push of a button
Asher Roberts
>hum cute shit in instagram >you are now hum whore and making millions instead of being loser musician only applies if you are cute
Ethan Bailey
As someone who thought they had the unique ideas other music was missing, as I learn theory and ableton, it is really harder to execute your vision when you actually get down to it.
Ian Gray
When you try to discourage yourself by thinking you cant do something youre subconciously giving up lmao. gimmie your discord anyway
Lucas Peterson
>hum whore What the fuck?
>as I learn theory The Beatles didn’t know any theory at all.
Sebastian Hughes

I started mine on here. Put up a thread with "who wants to start a band" with a skeleton giving two thumbs up and a lot of people wanted to join, now we're a band of 3. And it's going pretty good
Ethan Ramirez

Owen Baker
>I don't know how to play any instrument, read sheet music, know any theory, or know how to use a DAW but I swear I could make it big with something new
Ideas guys are the most delusional people.
Jace Sullivan
Ambition is usually at your highest point when you are least skilled. The more you learn and practice the lower your ambition gets. You should practice your music until you get to the point where you have zero expectations for reactions and play with completely selflessness
Lucas Myers
That makes sense, when I was 14 and first got a guitar I was determined to move to LA when I turned 18 and somehow believed the entire plan would work out fine and I'd be a famous guitarist who revived thrash metal or some childish shit because I had so many "original" ideas when in reality the more music I discovered the more I saw other people already did it years ago.
Joseph Sanders
I notice it in a lot of live shows. Sometimes I'll see a young artist playing very mediocre, but they have this aura like they think they are Godlike and are expecting the audience to freak out. They finish the set to mediocre applause and walk off with a pissed off look on their face. Then I'll see someone typically older 30s-40s playing as if the audience isn't even there, and they are incredible. The audience loves it and is blown away. They walk off the stage with a humble thank you and I immediately search up their music when I get home. Be like the humble musicians. It's not about your personality or ego, it's about doing something that's soulful and powerful without any ego. That's when people remember you
Learn to play an instrument, like piano or some shit. Really learn it as in study music theory and get hell good time. Then people will play with you. I play drums damn fun
Daniel Turner
Anons you making a band? Can I join? I play the trumpet and a bit of guitar. Gonna get a decent mic soon. I also like sampling stuff
