7/10

>Rock album of the year
this is actually true

dude our drummer's a nigger lmao: the band

It's atleast an 8

Imagine being this guy

I like it a lot, but I don't know why people are suggesting it's an incredibly innovative record, when krautrock and post-punk bands had beaten them by 30+ years

This

Same reason people call Greta Van Fleet the saviors of rock I guess

in their defense, its a sound that hasnt really been redone much since the 90s. up until now the big indie buzzbands have been reverb washed out dreampop bands or mac demarco clones

I agree it's a breath of fresh air in the contemporary music landscape. As I say, I like the album, but the hyperbolic reaction of the music press and the people who parrot their opinions is ridiculous to me.

>Wow people only like this group/artist because one of the members is black/gay/trans/etc.
Have you ever thought that people don't give a fuck

It's post punk revival revival revival

SHE MOVES WITH A PURPAAAASE OH SO MAGNIFIFCENT

the only relevant post in this thread

isnt this just The Fall's leftovers

unironically best song I've heard this year

oh damn i missed the first part of your post somehow, i agree 100%

lead singer is a manlet

The entire band is something-lets, cool band though

these guys are fucking massive in japan unironically

I like the album but sometimes the singer has this disgusting accent on some track but not others. it sounds fake as fuck, pretentious douchebaggery. if you want to be a vocalist like that, don't be so polarizing. but yeah it's my favorite rock album of the year, of the past couple years for that matter. I admittedly didn't listen to a lot though

*ahem*
