Hello guys .. i am looking to buy my first guitar

Hello guys .. i am looking to buy my first guitar
(and where i live it's almost impossible to get fenders and new guitars)
Anyways ... I have to choose between these three ...
An Italian Eko x27
A chinese copy of a fender
And a russian ural 650

I need your opinions as it will be my main learning guitar for at least 4 years

I want to play mostly grunge/rock and jazz

So please help me choose

That's the weirdest selection I've ever seen. Where do you live that those are the only 3 guitars you can find?

poor people are hilarious

none of those guitars would fit the genres you like to play unfortunately.

It's not about being poor .. it's about how shit of a country i live in

Welp time to kms

Bare minimum is a vintage modified Squier. Anything below that and you won't actually play or practice enough.

it's hard to say without having played on either of the guitars
but i think your safest bet would be the chinese fender copy
how much does it cost?

btw you should ask in the guitar and bass general thread
fair warning though: most people there are shitposters and autistic gear snobs

also - what fucking country do you live in? i'm having a very hard time believing those are your only options

I have a ural, DO NOT buy as your first guitar, they are in NO WAY fit to play as they are, i bought mine as a project to chip away on to make it play nice, and a lot of work is going into it.

None of these vintage student guitars are worth buying unless you plan on modding them, and youre not gonna do that on your first guitar. Just buy a squier of something man.

But if they are really your only options, get the china strat, at least thatll be workable

Pic is the original neck on the ural, ive put a strat neck on it now.

>original neck
jesus christ

So
1. There are no good music stores or second markets in your country.. at all?
2. Importing restrictions mean you cannot order online?

I didn't know people lived like this outside of North Korea. Nevertheless we cannot judge the quality of no brand guitars that we have never played or heard of. I'd suggest you try some out in person if you're able to.

Otherwise decide off demo videos, there are a few on youtube:
youtube.com/watch?v=1x4ReE8688g

I'd probably suggest avoiding the chinese strat, more likely to be a plinky mass produced toy, tas these are usually made in China and half of them look like generic black strats.

The demo provided above shows that the Russian guitar can sound good, and gives some details in the descriptions (it lacks a truss rod, very strange. Apparently the type of wood means "it won't need one" but I would be hesitant for long term as the neck may slowly bend due to string tension and then be difficult and expensive to fix).

I would still buy the Russian guitar as the demos prove it sounds ok

shit I take that back

If you ever get the chance to buy an Eko acoustic then go for it. I've heard that they're pretty god tier. But I think you should go for the strat.

where tf do you live my guy? cant you get something online or travel to another city to buy one?

This thread really makes you appreciate what you have
Godspeed OP

The Gibsonfag would just spaz and no one would answer the question sadly, that is the worst general of all time
holy shit are you serious?
i would probably look at teh Eko, it kinda reminds me of an old jap tiesco that I have. I havent seen a chinese instrument yet that is worth playing

holy POS hahahahahahaha
my first guitar was an ibanez RG and it was really good. you plebs need to aim a bit higher

where the fuck do you leave man? save or try to find a seconhand ibanez or fender or any actual brand

just look at the frets on this POS. wow thats some awful $5 guitar

oh its everything man, the binding looks like tile caulking

That's literally what they were. Their resurgence is because of "quirky" guitarists looking for "quirky" shaped guitars. If you look on a site like reverb, the old 60s guitars they sold in literal department stores like Sears are going for ridiculous prices. Would anyone serious buy a guitar in Walmart today? of course not.

Well guys ...

I'm in the syrian shithole of a country so you gotta believe me when i say a fender is an impossible thing to buy

A fender costs around 1million pounds here with us having a maximum monthly salary of 30000pounds

All guitars here are chinese replicas of what you guys have so it's all shit quality .. and even though they're replicas they cost around 175000 to 250000 pounds or even more ..
So i found these guitars to be the only originals that i can get ..

I have an acoustic H.I.H guitar that's a chinese shittard guitar which i learned all i know on ...

Buying anything online is impossible due to us being banned by all online payment/selling companies in the world

So i'm really stuck in the price range of 35000pounds as i'm still a college student and i worked my ass off for 50 hours teaching english lessons to get this amount of money

You guys better appreciate what u got lol

Get the Eko

well clearly being somewhat poor has to do with it, you might not be poor for your country but you probably are when compared to the most users of this site. or else you would order it from the internet (yes it could cost $3k for a strat but it wouldnt matter)
where are you from?

Plus:
The 30000pounds salary here isn't like your salaries .. so it's not even enough to buy food for the whole month .. we can't save any of it for the next month.

Look above ur reply

Why don't you play a traditional instrument like those three stringed sticks?

The Ural uses a Soviet DIN connector, not a standard 1/4 in. instrument output jack. You'll need to have wiring work done on it to be able to play it through an amp.

This

They look kinda funny but Eko's are decent guitars

Was OP asking about an Ural cable adapter last week?

I'm not in the mindset of syrian shitholes
I'm as far as can be of that mentality, you can say i'm somewhat of a western guy trapped in the eastern world lol

Sorry that the USA fucked you guys so bad by trying regime change.

Yep that's me

Meh, fuck goverments

there is no god.
what the fuck is this?
surely this isnt a serious instrument
ive seen better frets on a barbie doll guitar, and it has no strings!

I've got an amp from Sears and it is fucking fantastic

Which amp? I've been wanting a Silvertone 1482 for a while, but the prices are so ridiculous now that I can't justify the purchase

jimmy page played an eko

Its looking better now lads, to be fair the pickups sound good so im keeping them on, gonna redo the wiring though, for some reason its three tone knobs and one volume. If you look at the bridge you'll realize how skewed it is.

Attached: 5548.jpg (4032x1960, 2.51M)

Heres a pic of the neck profile. Its like they sliced a baseball bat in half its so chunky.

Attached: 5948.jpg (4032x1960, 2.74M)

If anyone wants some more picks of this plank of shit just ask.

If that pic of the Ural is the guitar you'd be buying, don't. It looks like it'd need work done on it to make it playable, and unless you live somewhere where guitar techs are familiar with Urals (eg Russia, maybe?) that might be a hard thing to sort out.
Personally I think the Eko looks nice, but have you considered looking for a guitar without a whammy bar to start with? There'd be less moving parts to go wrong, put you out of tune and make your playing miserable. And if it's your first guitar you should be focusing on every aspect of technique other than sick divebombs.
Just my 2 cents.

Hey guys i just wanted to hurt your feelings and tell you that arabs put an extra fret on their guitars to play an arabic scale called "bayat" lol

My eyes hurt

>Eko
For masochists only. Shittiest guitars I've ever played in the 3 decades I've played, hands down. Acoustic and Electric are both absolutely horrible.
>Chinese copy of a fender
Depends on how old it is. China makes all the absolute cheapest shit today, quality is hell of a lot better post 2000.
>Russian Ural
lolno.

I was aiming to buy something that's similar in pieces to a les paul .. with a roller bridge and a normal string holder
The whammy bar is not something i'm looking for and even if i get any of these guitars i'm removing the whammy bar

damn respect from srbija

1484
It's great, but yeah, they have shot up a ton lately

Thanks

OP, just go and test them out if you can. Do you also have an amp?

where did you find those guitars, at the toilet store?

I'm using the pc as an amp for now

Somewhere like that .. syria

You're like a little baby
youtube.com/watch?v=iRsSjh5TTqI

Get the chink strat. At least it's trying to be normal. The russian guitars are completely worthless and borderline unplayable. They only have any value as collectors items (and even then not much). The italian one looks similarly shit

user I dont know much about cheap guitars but I wish you luck

Update:
I raised the price range after considering selling an old accordeon that idk why even exists in my house .. anyways i'm left with these ones .. what do you guys think?

Attached: PicsArt_08-06-10.29.57.jpg (2289x2289, 390K)

This is full of fail. Get a Gibson R9.

Attached: 1557762914110.png (1043x706, 1.39M)

Pacificas are great Strat-a-likes.

Mexican fender is by far the best of the 3

What about the one on the right ... the guy said that it's a mexican fender .. is it true? And if ao .. wouldn't that make it my best option?

Why would anyone pretend their Fender is mexican?

Ask for more pictures of the mim

To sell their chinese fender easily? Duh

This is another photo of the "mexican" one

Attached: FB_IMG_15651205786765718.jpg (599x1232, 395K)

Duh

That looks like one of those arab guitars with extra frets to play turkish music

Looks like someone shat down the fretboard

Why is there an extra fret on the 2nd fret?

Attached: 1438206653813.jpg (408x439, 50K)

To play an arabic scale called "bayat"
It broke my heart to see that..
Look at the pacifica in the pic too it has three extra frets

get the italian no contest

But they're glued to the fretboard so they can be taken off it's okay

You know what? I think you'd be better off with the rodriguez, as long as there's no extra shitty meme frets

OP get the yamaha pacifica they are nice ! Wish u luck pal.

I would go for the Yamaha

>buys a good guitar
why not glue a fret here to play shitty music that guitar weren't meant to play?

Attached: images (9).jpg (300x168, 5K)

So i guess i'll stick with the yamaha

Thank you all, you helped me alot

Get the yamaha. Doesn't playing rock music get you killed?

just pull off any shitty extra meme frets, give it a wipe and you're good to go

Lol sure i'll get these stuff off first thing when i buy it i don't even wanna hear how they sound

And report back with pics when you get it

You bet your ass i will

ppl advising the pacifica must be memeing the fender is best by far its not even close. if on the back of the headstock it says made in mexico and the serialnumber starts with mx its a mexican strat unless its a fake trying to look real or something. mexican fenders are proper guitars desu, iif you're a professional musician making money off your shit obviously you spend a bit more for the best strat you can get, but the mexican ones arent much worse and considering the price difference they are a bargain.

Why yes I play Ural guitars how did you know?

Attached: russkij-silach-evgenij-sandov-otkryvshij-vsemu-miru-bodibilding.jpg (1300x784, 129K)

I don't guarantee the fender one as its price is too low for a mexican fender .. and the chinese bastards can replicate the hell out of a fender as u know .. it's around 100$ used .. so i'm a bit suspicious

okay that price would make me rather suspicious as well, i dont think anyone would part with a mim strat for that money

It’s cheap because someone wiped thier ass with it, what is that on the fingerboard?

>Sorry that the USA fucked you guys
If it weren't for the US they would be even worse. It wasn't America who forced them to have maximum monthly salaries that you can't save lol

Even tho the fretboard is a trainwreck it's still not enough to make its price this low
1$ was 50 syp before the war and U.S fenders were everywhere, we didn't have debts to any country in the world & were even gonna start working with online trading companies like amazon and ebay just like egypt did
But everything changed when the fire nation attacked and 1$ became 500 syp now lol

But anyways idgaf about who's on the right and i hate politics, i just wanna get a guitar lel

>trainwreck
Im honestly curious user, it looks like mold

It's made of wood paste mixed with ass hairs and toenails

Don't be a pussy, just make a fretless.
