I relistened to AHIG for the first time in years just a couple of nights ago and I disagree thoroughly. I genuinely like Sulfur and Psychosocial, I think they're bangers, Gematria and AHIG are decent, but everything else was super forgettable or downright bad with Corey's wimpy sounding soft-sung melodies. Butcher's Hook is fucking awful, no idea what they were thinking with that one.

Anyone listen to the leak? The album's fucking weird, definitely their most experimental. Need to listen more to really get any verdict

Having that said, the drumkit is sounding pretty good (except for the toms), the guitar tone is the same as the last album, not bad but not good either, the rest of the production is not noteworthy.

Actually, now that i could hear it more clearly, the guitar tone is very similar to Vol. 3's. In fact, this record in general, both in terms of production and composition, is sounding a lot like Vol. 3 so far.
Maybe the mixing and mastering was inspired by Rick Rubin, that would explain the clipping.

Also, the poppy choruses are sounding worse than usual.

This has probably their best track sequencing, I tried to listen to their debut/Iowa and they seemed oddly organized and slapped together sequencing wise, this flows wonderfully, I think this is my personal favorite Slipknot album as someone who's been a very small fan.

I don't like this album. No one in my house likes this album. My wife made me watch, "The Notebook", with her for making her hear it.
The next night she went out and got drunk with her friends at some Chippendales type place. That was her revenge and I'm fortunate it was relatively mild.
My friends all hate this album and now they all laugh at me for being such a sucker and dropping twenty bucks on it.
They told me that I should have just downloaded it illegally and I should have.
There's a laundry list of all the people who no longer feel I have any credibility when it comes to selecting cool music.
There's no redemption in hating it either; I actually bought it and that makes me an idiot now.

I have tried different methods of getting rid of them as well and the one which I thought would work best, was to take them into a local used CD store and just leave it there on one of the racks.
I thought, "How could that possibly go wrong?" Somehow, it did.
As I was leaving the store, the alarm went off like I was leaving without paying for something. The owner darted across the store,
past the CD rack I left it in, quickly grabbed it and aggressively shoved it into my chest.
"Don't you ever try to dump something like THIS in my store again!!!"

So where are they now? Bottom of the catbox. Safest damn place they could ever possibly be, too.
