>saw this meme'd on Yea Forums for years >never listened to it because figured it was the standard indy shit and only on here because shits and giggles >In The Aeroplane Over The Sea comes on in my youtube playlist today >it's fucking good
It's really great. I'm going to order the vinyl today.
Easton Smith
it disgusts me that there are people currently on Yea Forums that still haven’t heard itaots after all this time. you have to listen to it at least once even if you don’t end up liking it. it’s tradition.
Cooper Smith
>Oh God I would hate if I did that Glad you gave it a shot, easily one of the best albums ever
Jace Moore
It's probably the only Yea Forumscore indie rock album worth listening to. All of the other good Yea Forumscore could be described as something else besides 'indeh'. 'Cept maybe Mount Eerie and Sun Kil Moon and I guess that one Bright Eyes album if you consider it indie.
Shit like Arcade Fire is dumb and stuff like AnCo isn't actually indie rock, 'alternative' people just happen to like them.
Cooper Campbell
It's the Yea Forums rite of passage
Henry Torres
I really don't understand how it's so universal in it's appeal. I was a newfag who only listened to rap, but I loved the album the first time I had heard it. It single-handedly broadened my musical tastes.
Isaac Martinez
>there are people on this board who never got the chance to see them live a few years ago when they did their reunion shows sad!
Gavin Perry
It's just... It's like, wholesome or something. I don't even know how to describe it.
Jack Collins
A combination of simplicity, good song-writing, good lyrics, genuineness, emotion and slight oddness. It's also vague enough lyrically to speak to people on all kinds of levels that probably weren't intended.
I love this album and have a very small collection but I just can't get my self to buy this thing. I really do love it enough to buy it.
Michael Williams
I've noticed only schizos can appreciate this album
Joshua Adams
>What a beautiful face >I have found in this place >That is circling all round the sun >What a beautiful dream >That could flash on the screen >In a blink of an eye and be gone from me
>Soft and sweet >Let me hold it close and keep it here with me
>And one day we will die >And our ashes will fly >From the aeroplane over the sea
>But for now we are young >Let us lay in the sun >And count every beautiful thing we can see
>Love to be >in the arms of everything i'm keeping here
>tfw you realize this album helped you get into indie and has a special place in your heart.
i always read it as a representation of the early 2010's indie hipster look
Anthony Walker
I'm glad you decided to listen. This album makes me sad in a way most sad music can't. It's like feeling empathy for someone else's tragedy instead of self-pity by relating the music to yourself. At least, that's how I see it.
