i never got into jazz
i like a lot of old blues artists like Robert Johnson, Lead Belly, and Blind Willie Johnson
i'm also a fan of Jimi Hendrix

I'm a big fan of Lightnin' Hopkins and Blind Willie Johnson
I own albums by Marvin Gaye, Sly & the Family Stone, and Aretha Franklin
basic-tier, I know, but it's more than most here

i'm the user above you
are there any songs from Lightnin' Hopkins that you recommend? i've only listened to one of his songs and i thought it was alright

Kek, Kangposting never ceases to be funny

Little Richard, Jimi Hendrix
ASAP Rocky

Been getting into afrobeat recently. Some good albums from Fela Kuti and his son Femi Kuti

i'll check those out

i think they were soul?

Marvin Gaye was a lot of things, mostly soul with some older styled R&B. You’d probably like Curtis mayfield

I am a racist though.

blues and hip hop.
but im pretty racist to be honest.

Jazz, rap, and hip hop, they have a legit claim to. And, he left out blues, which evolved in black musician circles, along with early boogie woogie and rock n' roll. Jerry Lee Lewis copped a piano style from black bar players, and helped kick start white rock n' roll.

>invented by duke harrington
Who?
>most people were not alive during this time so its still a debate
There were no black classical musicians of note.
>africans in america
American folk came from Europe

Just stop posting, you're completely ignorant.

Jazz covers a lot of ground, I'd bet there's stuff that's jazz, that you like, that you don't even know is jazz. And, there's a ton of sub-genres in jazz, you have to explore a little to find the stuff you like. It's not all dudes in berets blowing into saxes and going "Yeah daddy-o!"

My favorite is Vince Guaraldi. And no, not Linus And Lucy, "Cast Your Fate To The Wind" is one of my all time favorite compositions.
