I did read, and what I read was some kind of empirically unfair observation of how the working class is structured in society. Unfortunately as it may be difficult to accept that despite the fact that it would grant racists and other people whose opinions the masses may find distasteful it is not a matter of opinion that the concession must be made that they are mostly a working class entity. In fact their own perceived inability to ascend from the working class is probably one of the reasons they have such disdain for illegal, and possibly violent immigrants.
You see just as they create a fiction about who these people are (i.e. foreigners who have come here to ruin their lives) others who oppose them also fall into the same trap of repeating a fiction which dictates that these people are simpletons, and that their hatred or even slight disliking for those of foreign descent is a direct result inherently of low intelligence, or mental illness or some other mental discrepancy - whereas in reality the situation is far more complex

I've only heard Mercedes Marxist which is pretty meh. I just read some of their lyrics and the problem is being woke just isn't very punk. Yes wokism is fringe but it's extremely safe. It's also very cringey and the fact that they think it's edgy is doubly cringey. If you're going to be woke you have to be a bit cleverer and less on the nose like Parquet Courts or even Gang of Four.

Holy shit. Those are the most awful lyrics I've ever read regardless of political affiliation. The fucking Ramones and Sex Pistols actually wrote legitimately poignant but simple lyrics and didn't take themselves seriously.
Gang of Four is pretty on the nose considering they released a single titled 'Ivanka'. Dead Kennedys would be a good example of a political/woke band with witty and clever lyrics.
Like on average 80s and 90s bands would have like one political song and the rest of the shit would just be yelling about authority figures and normies. I guess punk could only do that for so long.

I was thinking of the first 2 albums which is all I've bothered to listen to. Bad example obviously, not surprised the new stuff sucks. The old stuff wasn't woke in a 2019 sense but it was political and interesting without being preachy and the music itself was amazing anyway.
