hi who areyou

is the difference between terrible and garbage significant enough to warrant the two being separate?
how is average different from meh?

lowest rating I've ever given was 1.5

Not really. Anything that's 1 or lower is irredeemable trash. Only two albums in .5 could easily be swapped with the two albums in 1, and vice versa.

why not combine them and create a different positive ranking so you can delineate more of what you actually like, rather than having it tied up on stuff you don't?

I dont use rym

hi I am schtraw, I am a big fan of your work and stalk your page constantly

>why not combine them
I most likely will. The two albums in .5 are some of the first I rated.
>create a different positive ranking
What do you? Like having .5 stand for "must hear 6 stars" instead of standing for ".5 terrible"? If that is what you mean I don't really see the point honestly. 5 is already high enough.

reminder

maybe it's just me being fucking autistic, but I've been thinking recently that some records are above "perfect", or "perfect" in a different way at least. some albums are a collection of songs I could deem "perfect", but they don't really feel like an "experience" the way some other technically "perfect" albums do. I've seen some people use "life-changing" or "transcendental" as 5 and "perfect" as 4.5. maybe that's a little pretentious, but I think it could be useful.

I only use rym to get recs from genre charts, I don't spend too much time rating albums and writing reviews.
