Hello there! Since you are already here, presumably because of Tool releasing their music on Spotify, you should use this opportunity to expand your music horizons and listen to some new music. The best place to start, if you never visited this board before, would be to listen to some essential albums from this image. Go on and pick out a few.
Who knows, maybe one thing leads to another and you start exploring more and more music, just because you listened to a few albums from this image, and then your life changes forever. Just like mine was when I joined this board 6 years ago or like lives of most regular Yea Forumstants were changed because they opened the door to incredible world of various musical genres, periods and personas. The music you once listened to will be laughable in a few years to you if you follow this advice and you will forever be grateful for seeing this post.
This chart is not some holy grail and I'm not advising blindly following it and worshipping its albums. It's just an introduction, a gateway, to more varied, diverse and interesting music.
Charts are for fucking retards and faggots. If you're interested in a genre, search up its roots and start from there. This chart reeks of avant-teenism. Nobody gives a shit how esoteric and eclectic you are.
James Torres
I do.
William Robinson
And you're a fucking nobody. Go figure.
Logan Evans
Someone who gets into music because of Tool on spotify is better off clicking the spotify recs than coming to Yea Forums. Maybe skimming charts and checking for album arts to recognize when they show up as algorithm recommendations
Leo Williams
it's so despairing that people only come to Yea Forums for recs ("more like this??") or to be told what albums are good or bad in an artist's discography. these fucking kids act like it's a chore to look up music on their own and make up their own minds on how to feel about what they listen to
Aiden Lopez
This chart is garbage and you need to stop posting it here you absolute faggot
Gabriel Brooks
i mean im not one for the whole "tell me whats good and bad pls", but what exactly is wrong with recs? imo its just people helping each other find more music that they might possibly enjoy. i'd rather get personalized recs than spend hours scraping through trash on bandcamp or soundcloud to sometimes end up with nothing (even though i do that anyway)
Thomas James
Maybe you should stop listening to soundcloud bedroom trash then?
Nathaniel Martinez
genius stuff pal
Jayden Mitchell
now how are they gonna do that if they don't get pointed in the right direction
>durrr people should look for music on their own >durrr people shouldnt go on a site where you can look for music on your own
Nicholas Garcia
If you're looking for music, why would you go to a dumping ground made specifically for the purpose of learning bedroom musicians looking for advice on how to get better?
Aiden Sullivan
soundcloud is to the point now where big artists put their music on there. its also a hotbed to find remixes from talented lesser known artists since they can put their stuff up there without it being taken down. anyways, i have found a lot of stuff i like on there. soundcloud also organizes a playlist based off individual songs you have liked. like ever other way to discover new music you just have to dig until you hit a diamond in the rough.
oh and btw, rec's on Yea Forums is still not bad thing.
Brandon Hill
soundcloud isn't inherently bad (there's loads of good shit on there if you do a bit of digging) and somebody being a chode about recommendations being bad on Yea Forums doesn't change that
Hudson Wilson
Soundcloud is pretty much exclusively an amateur space and if it's legitimately the place where you go to look for your "diamonds" I cannot even begin to imagine how shit your taste is. You may as well be getting your tunes from newgrounds.
Isaiah Nguyen
you could point to whatever music repository you yourself use and offer nothing further if you want to give a recommendation while still satisfying Yea Forums's "no recs ever" spoonfeeding autism
Luis Rivera
>he thinks i actually care if some sperg on Yea Forums thinks my """""taste""""" is shit hahaha
but ohh soundcloud is so exclusively amateur that you can find Prince's new album on there. i find entire labels posting a ton of their stuff on there. for example, Future Classic posts a ton. youre a fucking retard if you think soundcloud is nothing but Clairo
Justin Lopez
I already have. I love it.
>If you're interested in a genre, search up its roots and start from there. Yeah, this chart is an overview on most of the main genres of music, so going by your logic, this chart is the best place to start with.
>This chart reeks of avant-teenism. Nobody gives a shit how esoteric and eclectic you are. There is nothing avant-teen about this.
>This chart is garbage [citation needed]

I arrived here after hearing Tool for the first time on Spotify today.
