I didn't like Low either. Also, I didn't like Lift your skinny fists, The Glow pt. 2, London Calling,.
Not even the second half?
no, didn't even stand out that much from the second half
So I assume that you do not like ambient, krautrock, progressive electronic and similar?
I don't even know what those first 2 are and not really so uh no
Sont have it saved and not gonna bother to so pic unrelated but i tried to get into Elliott Smith (am guitarfag and heard he was one of the best fingerstylers of all time).
I heard Roman Candle and just stopped after like 4 tracks.
Also, Buyer's Market never clicked with me.
Took me a few tries to get into it keep trying OP.
Never heard them.
Don't intend to.
young man, ambient literally describes itself
I only like the very last song Che

Swans sountrack fo the blind, explain why good
listen to the more accessible New Order first, then go back too Joy Division
pic related, I'm a huge Bowie fan and for Iggy solo, I like Lust for life and Post Pop Depression. But I don't get the hype for this one
you're supposed to start with their most accessible, not their best. Try Children of God
it's moody and almost goth at times
Listen to the first half after a bender that ended up badly. Listen to the second when you finally gain some clarity. You'll get it.
>listen to the more accessible New Order first, then go back too Joy Division
lol no, truth is that Joy Division is simply not very good and none of their albums are worth a full listen. They do have some great singles though I don't like Low either so I can't help you there friend, very weak Bowie album
I can't convince you to like it but it's a shame you don't. If you're looking for an underrated track to give a go listen to "Tiny Girls"
Don't listen to this faggot Listen to To Be Kind, then go back to soundtracks for the blind.
I don't have the words to explain why it's so good. You'll have to listen to it louder.
The Idiot is sorta overrated, but I'd say Iggy's versions of the songs that showed up on Bowie's albums are definitely superior.
>truth is that Joy Division is simply not very good and none of their albums are worth a full listen
Thanks for your time, user. Please leave the site now. Don't call us, we'll call you
>he doesn't know what krautrock is
posting an ACTUAL POPULAR album
he's better off for it.
I didn't really understand Low at first either but it's since become my favorite of his. So experimental. This album was a huge risk for him to take.
>joy division sucks, new order is good
>likes the idiot but not low
youtube.com
Low is one of my favorite albums, I couldn't tell you as to why I love it so much
pic related is try hard as fuck and sounds like a somehow even cringier version of Have a Nice Life
that's not popular, it's just ubiquitous
what am I missing in this? Is it really just a meme?
>don't intend to
why?
Low is my favourite from Bowie, bar none. Love the atmosphere through the whole thing, but especially Warszawa. Unforunately, I'm not much of a debater so I dunno how to convince anyone who didn't like it.
As for my choice, pic related. Really, anything from Miles Davis. I've tried and it just hasn't resonated. Stuff from his musicians has sat much better with me (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return to Forever).
you gotta be one with your left and right brain for this to click. This album is ugly and beautiful at the same time I feel like you gotta master some zen for this shit
Don't try to focus as much on the melodies and the exact notes being played, just let it wash over you and try to get into the overall sound and feel of it. Unless your only issue is with the length - in that case, that's fair, there's really nothing to tell ya
Sounds good if you heard it when you were a teenager going through a breakup or something. Theres a window of opportunity for this to click, and if it's missed it'll probably be hard but I can see it growing a most suburban bitches. I just mean that culturally, I personally like this album.
I'm a prog fag, fren. Length is no issue for me, whatsover.
Listen to it more. I swear you will get it.
Wow you're so cool
Never got why so many people love it, even outside of Yea Forums. Tried listening to it multiple times and didn't enjoy it. Didn't even enjoy it that much while listening to it with the mind set of "it's just ear candy."
Not a terrible album, just don't understand the hype around it.
>post album you didn't like but want to like so you can appeal more to Yea Forums
fuck off
>conversation is bad
Fuck off brainlet.
Thanks for agreeing with me and nice ""conversation" retard. Try to force youself to like albums you don't like so you can say you like them on anonymous site you dumb fag :)
im sorry, i am very drunk but still fuck off
i love you tho, i wish we could go out for a beer or something like that. I really like philosophical conversations, ofcourse we would keep it friendly, maybe we would get little bit mad in the middle but at the end it would all work out. What is life after all, all we need to do is to start feeling something at least
The point isn't to force yourself to like the album you post in fit in. The point is to understand what other people see in it that you don't, which may end up turning you on to it allowing you to enjoy more music.
I called you a brainlet because you are clearly a dunce if you couldn't see that.
nice expleanation.
Lift Your Skinny Fists sucks, London Calling sucks, but the Glow pt. 2 is really good. Listen with good headphones on a rainy day, you'll probably like it
I can now see your point of view and it makes more sense to me now. Will pss otut soon tho. Thanks and good night. You guys made me smile for the first time today
Not even Helpless Child? Soundtracks for the Blind was the first swans album I liked, never understood why people came all over themselves for "To Be Kind" which is just 3 decent grooves spread out among an hour and 15 minutes or so of boring filler.
I love metal and listened to it a lot while growing up, but I can't get into Tool.
You're better off.
Did you listen to it on the road? I fell in love with it on a long drive. What You Want is one of my favorite tracks of all time.
How is it possible to like this album at all (besides Soon and When you sleep) without being high? That's the real question that never gets answered.
It's just lush pop rock, man.
