I've been listening to a lot of 60s rock lately. These are the albums I've listened to so far, along with every Beatles album, and I've enjoyed almost all of them. What should I listen to next from this decade?

I haven't checked out any of these yet. Are they worth it? Which ones are good and which ones are lame?

two on the right are 10/10
two on the left are 8/10 with a handful of 10/10 tracks

what do you like about these albums?

asking unironically to better cater modern recs

There are better ccr albums but the others are quite good

You should listen to Donovan if you like the 60s psych thing. A lot of his albums are pretty spotty but the Greatest Hits from 1969 is a nice comp because he redid some of his early folky tunes in a psychedelic style. Also listen to Forever Changes by Love, Village Green Preservation Society by the Kinks, Begin by the Millennium, and The Who Sell Out

I'm gonna tack on the Smile Sessions by the Beach Boys and Oar by Skip Spence

If you're a record collector, you need to own this. Everybody owns it. Don't ask why.

thrift shop-core

Even soul/funk music tried to cash in on psychedelic rock. It's not bad though.

>Jefferson Airplaine (great album)
9/10
>JH Experience (overrated, but some great tracks)
7/10
>Creedence (Suzie Q and IPASOY are 10/10 covers, rest is weak)
5/10
>Cream (i don't get it, it's generic psych rock, the less unique of their trilogy, best one is Wheels on Fire by far)
>5/10

Monks - Black Monk Time
The 13th Foor Elevators - The Psychedelic Sounds of...
Midnight Cowboy - soundtrack
Sir Douglas Quintet - Mendocino

Check out the Electric Prunes.

If you want something more obscure listen to Fever Trees self titled album

Pic related and Days of Future Passed by The Moody Blues. Also, and have some pretty good suggestions. (Though I probably would’ve picked a different Simon and Garfunkel album)

Yes, Bridge Over Troubled Water and Bookends are definitely the definitive Simon and Garfunkel works.

Sell Out, and A Quick One While He’s Away by The Who.

Listen to "In the Court of the Crimson King" if you haven't already.
The only album I would recommend from these 4 is Are You Expirienced.
Also listen to the self titled Led Zeppelin album from 1969 and White Light / White Heat by The Velvet Underground

Bee Gees - 1st

Status Quo - picturesque matchstickable...

These two albums are classics in 60s psych / pop circles. Don't miss them just because you think their later output is lame.
