There's no inherent value in off time signatures in music—Most math rock fails on that front becauss they just play in alternating patterns of 11/8 and 5/4 because it's ebin
Drive Like Jehu, Dismemberment Plan, TBLA, and probably some other lesser groups use the uneven and irrhythmic pulses to capture a certain feeling, but most don't give a fuck. Honestly TOOL does a better job with 'math rock' than most math rock outfits
