How do I get my music to be played in japan? I want to tour there with my band and have no idea how to break into the market.
How do I get my music to be played in japan...
Just play metal.
What kind of music are you making
forgot to add that, we're busy recording our first album over the next 2 months
never gonna happen, op.
you killing me but yeah im familiar with the j rock sound and ours is completely different, i dont even know what to call it
You just need to get better, Tyler.
well what did you think of it at least?
also, im not Tyler, im another member
OP, are you this guy?
no he left the band
I liked it, but to break in a foreign market it just needs to be all around better.
i noticed he's not in any of the press shots on facebook or the marene site. why did he leave?
If you have to ask here...
he wanted to focus on his career in IT
how so?
Living the dream.
haha, you're not relevant enough. Try harder, or give up
Get a sax.
I have thirty 7''records that were made in Japan and randomly spread around by this single dude/independent record lable/artist guy back in the myspace days who lived in Japan. My copies didn't arrive unfortunately, so I've scouring the internet for them to pop up, but this is ultra obscure shit I guess. There's like 30 weird Japanese dudes who collect weird vinyl and have my release sitting on a shelf.
play math rock
How about breaking into your own country's market first?
Nice blog bro
Nah that’s too hard for us
Now this in an on topic answer
This guy isn't op
We are slowly, our biggest show to date has been a metal festival 2 weeks ago. I guess the best way to build a fan base would be to play those weekend festivals so we're trying to get into that, we've done one so far.
that’s not a real genre lmao
>music for bug men sohiboys
I think not
日本語が話せますか
This is half true. Play super cringe melodic metal to have a chance
私が学ぼうとしている
>わし_は_日本語_を_学ぼうとしている
でしょう?
play punk/hardcore and actually be good at it. japan's hardcore scene rules and i know a local band that played two shows there.
japan seems to adore 00s rock and 80s metal. literally all the bands i used to listen to in 00s are all managing jrock groups now
youtube.com
Did it really matter being big in japan?
Are you actually Japanese or just larping obviously I'm not fluent
I had this thought to but when you look at all the big current j rock / metal bands it's all modern stuff. I would love to get to levels like X Japan desu that's the dream
you don't need to be big to go on a tour
Funding is an issue in sure you can understand
you don't need to be big to go on tour and get paid enough to cover the tour.
OK so how do we do it?
get a following in a niche scene and enough fans in japan to attract at least 50 people to a venue at each location.
