Theyre something worn by people who supplement personality with the media they consume, something true for basically all printed t’s; it’s a lazy way for someone to pretend their fashion/style/clothing is more interesting than it really is

What should people wear instead of band shirts?

I use them as a way of initiating conversations with strangers. It shows, in a passive manner, one of you interests is to others. Those with this shared interest often take the opportunity to engage you in conversation.

Normal shirts jumpers jackets etc

t's with their face printed on it

Don't care, I just like the way they look.

Okay I get what you mean but explain the meme of "personality supplemented by the media they consume" - the media we consume literally IS a part of personality. Taste is a part of personality. I know, mucore retards have no taste and bla bla youre not more interesting for listening to but it's still part of it

both probably

>like band
>go see band live
>buy t-shirt as souvenir
>wear t-shirt to display affinity
i don't wear band shirts though

Fedoras, leather vests, fingerless gloves

How so? When you go to a music festival (especially smaller ones) with friends there's a good chance your taste may overlap, but still you can hate their guts cause your personalities vary. (Definitely not based on anything)

metal may actually be an exception I think.
But then again, I was always a depressed fuck, and I used to be a metalhead in my teens

not this again

Coincidentally, the dumbest people are also happier than everyone else.

I like how some high end brands release pieces who imitate bands' merch

I've met one of my best friends because of a Jethro Tull shirt years ago

>insecurity
>social statement
neither you fucking brainlet.
its people supporting their band by buying shirts and then wear it to be part of a group. the group that likes the band. my dear fucking god lmfao.
its also for children btw, but thats another discussion...

If you can go out with t-shirt, you can go shirtless and show your true man physique.

>its people supporting their band by buying shirts

ian curtis is dead man

>profound social statement
No
> or a sign of insecurity
Not this either
They just mean “I like this band” lol

Graphic tees and band shirts look bad on unattractive people, because everything looks bad on unattractive people.
It's easy to confuse this with "graphic tees always look bad", because most people are fat or otherwise not good looking.

I saw a ripped dude in his 40s wearing this a little while ago, for example. Looked perfectly fine.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I've made friends because I saw people wearing band shirts. You guys are just insecure introverted cucks with 0 social skills who overthink everything.

>the media we consume literally IS a part of personality
HA!

Or maybe, big maybe, they just like the band

What's so entertaining?

Sexual predator

It literally is.

>imitate bands' merch
it's literally a smiths shirt, proof that vacarello is a hack

fashion is an art form too, so just wearing clothes is a statement about preference and culture too.

nothing at all, its the only way to avoid being a poser is to be buck ass naked all the time, obviously.

Darkthrone hoodie every day and night because im all that life yo

Yes

i like band shirts and people can suck my ass. i had a bunch when i was a teen, the only one that survived is a magma shirt and i fuckin love it lol, i wear it alot. it has holes in it but that's fine

>why yes i do listen to wilco, how could you tell?

I LITTERALY saw this EXACT same thread when i started browsing 4chanz a year ago..

Hate all t-shirts with a large logo or image on the front. Bands just need better merch - put that album commercial on the back and something small on the front.

clown t-shirt till the day I die

based

this

When I was a teenager I had a nirvana shirt. Nirvana shirts are very cringe but I won't say all band shirts are

I have a Filosofem shirt and my gf has a Det Som Engang Var shirt. Both of us have gotten compliments respectively lol

that is a massive neck

I mean, lots of things go into what we call "personality", just liking similar music certainly doesnt mean you like everything else about another person

I mean, Wikipedia but still: "Personality refers to individual differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving." If you choose to consume product A instead of product B (and have an emotional response to A and not B) especially when were talking about the "product" of music here which is largely subjective and very hard to objectively rate, isn't that a pattern of thinking unique to you? And the fact that you had an emotional response (which might also be unique in it's own way) to it also a part of personality? Like, I don't know how much deeper we would have to go, but completely hypothetically, if person A and person B both hear at the same time and A cries and B calls it stupid, yeah, that's an example of personality.

you: autistic

>unironically caring about other peoples clothing choices

this is THE profound social statement t-shirt, literally impossible to wear if you're insecure

NPCs seeking social gratification

>$125

based logicposter

I wore this and someone thought it said nigger

r8 my one item of band merch

Just got it but I've never gotten a chance to wear it yet since it's been like 90 (f) degrees out

This

It's also a nice way to support an artist you like, since they make fuck-all from album sales, especially since nobody buys albums anymore anyway. But yeah if you want to be a dick, go for it.

Why aren't these dickheads wearing Who T-shirts? Posers

Attached: mod.jpg (800x805, 109K)

Posing is Posing, you're either posing you are legit or you're a poser that sucks dick. It ll boils down to how obscure the graphic of the shirt you're using, if it is some casual looking shit or an obscure album cover

It's easy to not engage in sexual misconduct when you're never around any women other than your mom.

Based

They make up most of the shirts I own and I put 0 thought into them,

a little bit of column A and a little bit of column B

lol why not just not wear anything then? go full on birthday suit. If I love a band and really like album art or just the album in general I consider buying a shirt. the way you dissect a fashion choice in just a way makes you sound incredibly insecure.

"You will get a taste of my shoe, infidel!"

Seeking outside validation is always a sign of insecurity.

kek

The only thing I know is that shirts without anything on it are basic and boring as fuck. I would rather come across as a try harder than a basic tasteless bitch

this

Comfy autumn wear, very nice. I really gotta get some band hoodies before fall comes around.

Depends on the band

i wear this to dogwhistle to other covert white supremacists

> the way you dissect a fashion choice in just a way
Welcome to fashion brother. Even bonglanders living in the literal gutter were as particular as you suggest about sartorial choices. Only upper middle class Americans obsessed with proclaiming their money traumas need to dress down. If that makes you uncomfortable stick to your band t shirts
