just listen to sets and check tracklists for tracks. all 'techno' sets are great. just have to witness it live :^)
there's endless techno mostly of this kind on this youtube channel if you want to browse
ok cool thank you i havent listened to tecno since like early 2000's i don't even know who the good djs are. i also didn't realize that these djs play other peoples music. i thought these were all their own tracks when i watched these videos.

what kind of brain do I need to enjoy techno?
what genre is carl cox his music seems a bit lighter
he usually plays on sunny days during daytime, he can go deep and dark aswell. its usually a bit more house than techno if he play son the infamous ibiza parties etc. i'm not really aware of what all the cool kids call all the subgenres. bujt techno has a wide variety of music.
>implying
Nina kraviz and her whole Trip label
Bjarki
Hector Oaks
Metodi Hristov
Coyu
A lot of the old Detroit guys are still killing it ie Robert Hood's floorplan project
Everyone in Copenhagen especially Kulor crew
Lots of good techno coming out my friend
Patient it takes a while to parse out what makes the songs unique, the different styles and motifs of the subgenre. Also inquisitiveness, as it is a wider genre with less readily identifiable "stars" you will need to do some of the legwork listening to sets and discovering labels that resonate with you. Hunting down songs you like in a set, finding out what labels that artist releases on, and listening to who else releases on those labels is an effective strategy I've found.
jesus, this sounds so stressful.
Fucking Kas:st
Or you could just watch Cercle YouTube channel videos which I unironically recommend or even the beatport best new techno playlist on Spotify. But to carve out your own style id follow the method I recommended

as producer absolutely not, as trendies dj mixers highly doubtful.
these trendies mixers are decent but don't deserve the hype
