Thoughts on new Devourment tracks? A Virulent Strain of Retaliation is pretty good
favorite slayer?
Excuse me, OP?
That isn't allowed on 4channel.
May I politely ask that you take down this thread? The advertisers won't be happy about this.
Favorite album? Hell Awaits
Favorite Song? Die By The Sword
Slams for deathcore queers.
Show No Mercy. Also, God Hates Us All is the best non-80s album.
World Painted Blood is easily better than God Hates Us All
What's some metal for wanting to put a knife through the entire pathetic weakling faggot brittle skull of the retarded fucking schizophrenic """magician""" that unfortunately decided to pop up the last couple of disgusting threads and nobody was laughing in his face because he was just too fucking stupid to even be worthy of a single pitiful reply?
Not a bad album, but for whatever reason I fucking SLEEP when a track from that pops up on my music player. Even Repentless and Christ Illusion are better.
See also Christ Illusion was better than God Hates Us All. It is however the best Bostaph album
did I miss an epic meme
No, just a literal schizo who rambled about Jon from Dissection and """magick""" being science who could barely type in coherent English and raged hard as fuck
He sounded just like the true satanic black metal pasta schizo, that's why last thread had the beginning of the pasta as the edition
Is there any good Asian metal bands?
Sigh, Sabbat, and Defiled are all ok
Sigh and Gallhammer
DRONES SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME COMPELLED TO LIVE YOUR SHELTERED LIVES NOT ONCE HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN SUCH A RISE OF PURE HYPOCRISY
Barbatos
yes
many
gimme some wanky time-signatured prog so I can jack off to the irregular rhythms
what kind of amps do you guys use to play metal? I'm thinking of getting a used peavey vypyr vip 1 for 90 bucks but idk if it'll be good enough. /gg/ is cancer
I'm not a professional or even good by any means but I have that exact amp and it's pretty nifty, especially if you like playing around with effects. A lot of people also shit on Line 6 but I think for what you get it's a lot of fun. I have a Line 6 stack that I got off craigslist for really cheap and it's a blast. If you actually wanted to play seriously then I'd imagine some kind of stack with a tube head like a marshall jcm800 would be good. If you're just screwing around in your room a vip 1 is fine
so based
Me being a poorfag, I just use a fender mustang and hook it up to my laptop with fuze. It's not quite as thick or crunchy as I would like but it's good for room practice. Here's my current presets for it, gimme a sec to record something real quick
is it loud as fuck? it isn't a huge deal because I can use headphones, but I have roomies sleeping in the room next to me
also, do you find some of the amp stations to be kinda so bad they're useless? I noticed in preview vids sometimes it just sounds like car wrecks, but maybe its just the recording quality or their settings
youtube.com
15:30 I can tell what they're going for but its kind of a garbled mess...
I've played it in a room with someone sleeping before without waking them up. If they're in the next room over then it won't be a problem at all, but it doesn't sound as good at super low volumes OR super high volumes.
If we're talking about only for metal then yeah there are plenty of effects you'll never touch and will sound bad. There's a shit ton of options though, and it's entirely possible to make it sound ok. I'm sure you know how the amp stations work from videos; it has a list of amps, and each has three stations, one for clean, one dirty, and one that's like in between. For metal I've found the best is the 6505 on the dirty channel. That being said, most of the time I run the Budda channel on clean and just put a distortion pedal in front, which I think sounds a lot better. Overall I think for just $100 even if you dont use a lot of the channels, it has so many fucking options that it's worth it. If you feel so inclined you can even make shitty post rock type effects with it, which is fun to fuck around with
Also, may be good to ask, is there a specific type of metal you're trying to play on it?
well okay lets see what its like
so it takes pedals well? do you only use the one distortion pedal?
mostly doom and trad. iron maiden, candlemass, solitude aeturnus, saint vitus, a bit of thrash too... I'd like to play heavier shit too eventually
Do you use the real tone cable?
vocaroo.com
it's just a short riff that I came up with on the spot followed by a shitty rendition of Crystal Mountain's solo, but it gives a good idea of what it sounds like
no, the amp came with a mini-b to usb-a cable
just listened this new single by Coffins from Japan, I thought it was pretty good

I'd heard fenders arent great for metal but this doesn't sound half bad 2bh. imagine a bit is lost in the recording too. what pickups?
Schecter Diamond plus, it's stock on the Omen extreme 7, and I can change it from humbucker to single coil by pulling the tone knob
I don't believe it has an actual effects loop or anything but yeah I've had pretty positive experiences just running a pedal directly into the input. I've used multiple pedals with it before; once I ran a shitty multi effect pedal with some reverb settings on it into a Rat into the amp and got some pretty sweet shoegaze type sounds out of it.

Here's just a little shitty demo of what I said before; clean Budda channel with a disto pedal in front. The buzzing is my mic, NOT the amp. Also, if you're willing to shill out a little more money, the pedal I used for this is the Behringer SF300. You can pick it up for like 25 burgermoney. It's an amazing budget doom pedal, modeled after the Boss FZ2. It absolutely nails Electric Wizard tones; on Fuzz 2 mode it sounds almost exactly like Dopethrone, since they used the FZ2. On boost mode I'd imagine you can get some good trad tones just screwing with the amp effects
those are sweet guitars, I'm privy to the omen 6 myself
sounds good, thanks for the pedal rec because I was just about to ask. I was also curious which channel I'd run the pedal through so thanks for that too. do you think the channels are sufficient without the pedal or the pedal is essential?
youtube.com
What the FUCK are you blasting?
I'd go with either Divine Intervention or Christ Illusion
For doom you're gonna want a pedal most likely. Another good one is the Rat, as I mentioned before, but it's significantly more expensive.

This is the closest thing I could get to a good doom tone in like five minutes. To be fair though, I mostly play black metal and know jack shit about eqing and getting a good tone; I literally just put it on 6505 red and set everything to 1 o clock, pre and post gain up, and reverb down. I think it sounds ok for what little I put into making that tone
