Im a complete beginner, can someone give me some direction to programming drum tracks? I play guitar and bass but i have no experience in production and would like personalized drums on my songs
Square wave oscillator, with a lowpass filter that has relatively highish resonance (that moves for the sweeps you hear later on in the track) that feed into a bitcrusher and then distortion.
Justin Jenkins
By modify do you mean copy and paste parts together? I dont know how to do much else but im hoping to edit individual beats, maybe theres some program specifically for drums?
Blake Cooper
Oops it occurs to me that you are not talking about that patch. You are talking about the other one.
after all the skrillex talk in the last thread I truly understand that nobody knows how anything works in the industry here at all
>imagine unironically hating ewun and not being mad instead that jake only does KTN now
it's a classic reese style bass. make it in layers. mid range: saw waves, distortion, chorus, lots of band pass with steep res automation, EQ automation, then resampling. sub layer is a simple sine or triangle or rounded square with distortion. make sure automation matches. layer to taste. then sample again. it's all about post processing on those sounds.
these days you can get more unique sounds with wavetable synthesis and the same techniques though
I can't believe angerfist is still going. what a legend

Do you guys think a Korg Volca Keys is worth $100? There's someone selling one locally for that much on craigslist with a 10' midi cable

>make a cover of my favorite songs >its fucking awful and i hate my voice
I'm learning FL Studio and my first baby task is remixing two songs that have similar BPMs and notes so these questions are very basic please be gentle with me I'm a noobie. 1.) How am I supposed to change the tempo of a wav I inserted into the thing without changing its pitch? My initial attempt at it was changing a drum's tempo in edison but it doesn't work now since I'm trying to splice two songs into one. 2.) How do I change the wav segment's pitch without changing its tempo? I tried doing it with the pitch corrector and it just made a fucked up mess. 3.) Also unrelated to my tiny project is there a way to distort my voice so I don't sound like a rooster when I try to sing?
Camden Bell
>I'm learning FL Studio stop
Christian Turner
no i want to become a real guitarist like in real life but i have no friends in real life so I also have to pretend to be the drummer as well
I really wasn't planning on it. I think I'll wait and look for a cheap Volca FM
Ryder Harris
whatever has to do with people talking about Skrillex last thread. fwiw I don't mind his music but I don't think anyone can deny it had a huge impact on electronic music (especially in the states)
could I get some feedback on this jam from today? It's a rough take of me trying to combine different tracks and all that, I'm arranging it tomorrow and want to know if the vibe feels ok
vocals, let me download this and I'll add some :) ?
I really like the beat around 4mins till the end, things locked in nicely. [feedback] start trimming down your drum sections into a more repetitive pattern. Ideally using the groove after 4 mins. also you should add a louder bass instrument to fill up all the empty space
desu I enjoyed it, personally I'd add more harmonic instruments I also dig where you were going with it. What do you listen to that inspired this?
I think neither, just /prod/ isn't very gear heavy and all the modular boys are fucking with the current fotm module. I've heard some stuff from them, and I like it, but I don't have the dosh for gearfagging.
I actually got sent some .wav's on CD's from a guy from Yea Forums around 2010. I lived in an apartment back then so I didn't care as much about giving out my address.
Jackson Thomas
>Hey, let me explain to you what major triads are for the next 3 hours
god i fucking hate andrew huang, but the 4 producers 1 sample idea is really clever. but it is amazing how rich and unlikable all his guests are, very similar to himself. i remember the motherfucker casually pulled out a double bass for a bassline once. who the fuck owns something like that to probably use it once a year?
Jaxson Parker
he stole it from us that guy posted the sample roulette and then he made the video
Josiah Evans
>so there's this thing I came with, it's called negative harmony
To change tempo invariant of pitch you use whats called a timestretch mode. I do not know how to do this in FL but that should be enough to help you google it. 3. You can also apply the above technology (timestretch modes) to vocals, to change pitch without losing the sync of your vocals. plugins like auto tune exploit this. There are also plugins like antares throat, that will run your voice through a physical model of a throat and u can change the throat width and length through some sort of black magic fuckery.
I think in general, you should be learning about granular synthesis and timestretch plugins and effects. Granular is how a lot of the time-stretch algorithms work, and a lot of the fancy vocal pitch tools work. It will take your sample, chop it into thousands of tiny little wave slices, then automatically perform operations on them. An example of this would be how to get that effect from that scene in the matrix when the liquid metal mirror goes down neos throat. youtube.com/watch?v=cjAQOjv3eg0
By chopping the sound up into thousands of little pieces, you can elongate the sound into sustained tones while retaining pitch (like the matrix example- listen for the part where they also pitch the tones into quantized pitches after its locked into that elongated tone). You can also do the opposite, changing pitch without changing length (because now timing is defined by those little chops laid end to end). Its ok if you don't get what im saying fully.
Again, music is dead. There are no new sounds to be created. Nothing will replace the synthesizer. Guitar music will not come back. Maybe guitar music will briefly come back into style in the distant future, but as it is now, all music has been done.
Argue it
Show me an electronic song with as much musical complexity as this band track:
Also, younger generations will have all of the greatest music at their fingertips through youtube. The future is comprised of Jonas Brothers-like stars to appeal to teenagers who want idols, but in terms of the actual music... everything has been done. Nothing is new.
Camden Cox
I don't associate musical complexity with what sounds good.
Luke Wright
Thank you *smoochies* I actually figured out how to do the pitch stuff but not the timestretch while I was screwing around with this. >There are also plugins like antares throat I'll check this out. xoxo >Its ok if you don't get what im saying fully. This is interesting because I can understand it, it's similar to working with vectors in photoshop (which I'm more used to but my uncle died and now I have his guitar so I'm trying to do music for fun woohoo) and how there's different ways you can edit your vectored pixels when you're doing transformations stuff like that. Except it's with audio and audio is so much different, like a whole nudder language. I just thought it'd be easier but that's fair because the uneducated can always become educated with time and effort so I'll look more into how to sound mix thank youu
James Moore
how feasible is it to use reaper as my first daw? it has no native instruments or effects, correct?
Carter Brooks
That didn't stop Mexicans from making the same exact mariachi song for the past 200 years, or the scandinavians from making the same cow screaming "songs", or the africans from making the exact same drum beat for the past 10s of thousands of years, or the French from literally stealing every American pop song, dubbing it, and pretending it's their original creation. Face it, old man. You're a retard.
Ethan Harris
It has effects for sure. He's young (27?) and he has admitted that he has hardly listened to much music at all.
if you're not using it for recording it might be painful but not impossible, there are plenty of free vsts
Andrew Flores
What I'm saying is that there will be no new innovation in music. There are too many "artists" and too much noise.
Jacob Anderson
Oh Yeah suck me good and hard through my jorts. I’ll show u new
Hunter Sullivan
that music pleb consumer talk is complete rubbish. maybe you bought too much into music press story telling and wish there would be a new major movement every 6 months or something, but that's not how it works. I don't know if you noticed but there was a goddamn revolution in the last 10 years, music making has never been easier. if you don't find anything maybe it's because people are trying to figure out how to deal with that new technology (or maybe you're just fucking lazy, I have no trouble finding recent awesome music).
also, guitar music is more popular than ever, don't believe the mainstream medias. in my country, the biggest festival is a metal festival
Isaiah White
IMO Old Town Road was more innovative than the toto song.
Gabriel Foster
>the French from literally stealing every American pop song, dubbing it, and pretending it's their original creation. the most offensive thing is when French "comedians" just translate Carlin skits and use it verbatim in their shows (that shit has existed for decades now)

>tfw made music that sounds near identical to one of my favorite indie artists >mfw realizing their music actually isn't even that good and I've been lying to myself all this time because the lead singer's persona was pretty "cool" and "mysterious" even though his music project was completely whack Don't do what I did. Be your own man. Build your own band.
i wanted to but it's not.... good and i didn't even reply initially because the account name being "anonymous" in combination with that made me think you're the reason shitter
>>mfw realizing their music actually isn't even that good and I've been lying to myself all this time because the lead singer's persona was pretty "cool" and "mysterious" even though his music project was completely whack
I don't care about their persona though I just like the way it sounds. I've been listening to almost nothing but Kero Kero Bonito for months. They project a cute image, you think I want a "cute" image? I'm a short fat black guy with a micropenis I don't want a cute fucking image. I'd vastly prefer an image of Mac DeMarco's or Earl Sweatshirt. But no its shit like Kero Kero Bonito, PC Music, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Spacegirl Gemmy, Akiko Yano, Bjork, and Grimes I want to make music like. >Be your own man. >Build your own band.
Out of what? Thin air? I hate everything I make.
Joseph King
>I hate everything I make Post your work. If you can't generate something passable on your own, your attempts to copy someone are going to end up sounding terrible too.
Kevin Martin
A Juno 106 emulation. They used that on Cross. I've recreated the Genesis bass synth with Roland's Juno 106 VST. Look for the "Justice Ed Banger Kit" for drums. I believe it was posted to reddit.
I'm shifting away from that though. I want to make warm songs with more dynamic range, similar to their Woman album. I'm losing interest in music completely though. Making an album is essentially a dead prospect. I just don't know anymore... I think we're at the end of an era with electronic music.
I enjoy AVD and Woman as well because they hearken back to 70s prog rock (I'm a rock/metal guy), but I have to be honest... no truly new music is being created. Even my current favorite rock band Ghost is making music that sounds like BOC or Black Sabbath.
Kill yourself you fucking faggot don't lol me you dumb piece of shit at least I know what I want to do
Dylan Lewis
i'm being completely serious too, I literally take into consideration who should be replied to. I listen to at least half the clyps posted every thread but only respond to like 3 of them max usually. I ignore if it's complete shit/from a new producer, trapshit (i like trap but most of the people who post it are straight ripoffs using loops and shit), somebody "known (sammy demarcus etc (i actually respond to demarcus occasionally though if i think he's improved because i feel bad lol) or it's less than a minute.
"but user, you're being a faggot, don't you know everybody here sucks? what do you expect? how do you even reply to anybody like that?" no no no, *most* suck but there is plenty of decent stuff that gets posted. if there's nothing to say about it besides finish it, bad, reptitive/boring etc there's no point to replying. I figure the people posting that already know that shit.... well most of them.... who aren't.... brazilian....
>f you can't generate something passable on your own, your attempts to copy someone are going to end up sounding terrible too. Aren't most things artists make "on their own" an attempt to copy someone else? Everyone has influences.
Brandon Reyes
tell me what makes it bad and how i should improve it you seem incapable of doing this...
Jonathan Gray
still an attempt to copy someone else*
Aaron Morris
You're overthinking it, it's not good. You're making up excuse for your shortcomings (or are you sabotaging yourself by dissecting the fads?). Just make music for fun and don't expect anything from it. Nobody gives a shit about the style as long as it sounds cool and interesting. Why do you think there have always been so many retro/revival scenes (see occult rock like ghost, retrowave and so on, even Justice was kinda retro back in the day) and why do you think noone gives a fuck about cutting edge artschool bullshit?
>A Juno 106 emulation Ah, they used that too? I was just doodling with TAL UNO, it's a nice vst (but no FX section).
>Look for the "Justice Ed Banger Kit" for drums Will do
Anything specific regarding the drums? Do you over compress it too?
Ryan James
From the Justice Ed Banger Kit, you don't have to compress them. They're already compressed. Just use Nightshine on the master
Christopher Green
It's not, I'm the reasonfag and I don't have anywhere near that many cat pictures in my Yea Forums folder.
William Wright
do not take mix advice from justicefag, listen to his shit
Christopher Cooper

Adam Gray
>your music is never gonna sound natural if you're making it entirely in a DAW. You need to get some real drums and record them yourself for that real, authentic sound. When you quantise your instruments to a grid you lose that human element and the music will suffer from not having those tiny imperfections. I recommend going to school and learning some theory, or at the very least going to your local guitar center and picking up a cheap guitar... etc., etc.
I've only seen a couple of his vids, does he talk about muh real instruments often?
Angel Johnson
any way to get serum/nexus/other expensive stuff without paying for it?
just dropped $$$ on a DAW and not in the mood to pay the same amount just for each of those...
also general question re: any ideas on plugins / vsts to download for ppl who just got a DAW
Ethan Campbell
your stock plugins, especially if you got ableton suite you could spend several years without needing anything else if you do some effort and try to get familiar with it
otherwise, you can grab a computer music magazine and download their free shit on their silo site. they have hundreds of vsts and it will cover most of what you need at first
Andrew Anderson
Which daw?
Justin Morris
>especially if you got ableton suite okay i stan ableton shit pretty hard but even knowing everything inside and out i'd go fucking insane not having third party synths, operator and analog are not fun to work with at all
requesting feedback on this wip, i just wanna know if this is even a good idea or worth finishing, i dont know how to feel about it.
Jaxon Hughes
operator is one of the best fm plugs, but yeah, analog is kinda boring,he could use wavetable instead or grab bazille CM to replace it for example
Christopher Gutierrez
lol that's why i specifically said not fun straight up fuck analog, but operator is very capable. collision and tension can make some pretty wild shit too
Adam Diaz
I used to use renoise before I came to my senses
Lucas Sanders
collision is one of my go-to devices for ambient, it's really great (and my favorite of them). on the other hand, I was never able to do anything with tension, I have been trying to create weird string noises for a while but I didn't have any luck yet
Nathan Powell
alright so let' say i have a friend in the north of europe and i live in the south of europe. where can we travel to that has the cheapest studio rent space so we can make beetz for a week or so?

flavor of the month, you sub-100IQ inbred
Oliver Evans
>you sub-100IQ inbred h-how did you find out? Have you been tracking my posts across the site?
Are you insane? It's godawful. It's just distorted drums hitting fast with Evil Dead samples. I'm so fucking jaded with the current state of music. This obsession with DJs has contributed to the death of music. All they do is stand there, or like in this Nick Romero video I'm watching now, say random shit like "put your hands up in the air" because they know the music is shit.
It's like a cynical (of technology) millennial parody of Woodstock.
>Are you insane? Yes Also to be fair a HUGE amount of hardcore tracks are dogshit, even I'll admit that. I'm more surprised that angerfist was mentioned on Yea Forums.
I've only recorded bass and guitar so far via my audio interface to make simple tracks. If I want to get into synths and electronic music I should probably get some kind of keyboard controller, right? Any advice on 25 or 32 key controllers (that are not shit) under 100 bucks? Do I need drum pads? Am I correct in my assumption that with reaper, a keyboard controller and plugins I pretty much have everything I need to get started?
get a controller if you can, it's not a necessity though, shit helps to add a human feel obviously though
>under 100 bucks >not shit :^)
i got a 61 key m-audio for 70~ shipped used from guitar center lmao. cheap keyboards are shit but they get the job done. they're all the same dude, however i read about more akai mini keys popping than any other brand. pads are not a necessity either, get em if you want but they're not going to be good quality.
yes you have everything you need, although i'm assuming you have headphones and or monitors already
>clyp.it/fhvkkop0 kept it on while writing the above comment.... idk, the idea is there but the groove isn't... lacks "Feel" overall. it doesn't suck tho
just pick any well known brand dude, shit's all the same until you start shelling out hundreds
explain the joke you are attempting to make please
Hunter Rivera
Alright, thanks. M-Audio, Akai, Miditech and Korg seem to be some of the big brands in that market (keyboard controllers). Any features that I should pay attention towards or that I would miss if it didn't have them? I assume easy octave switching is one of the big ones for convenience and some have full size keys which seems like a good idea if one ever switches to a proper keyboard.
Eli Phillips
Hi
Cooper King
pretty much all of them will have the basics like a mod wheel/octave switching. some will have gimmicks and some will have like knobs for assigning to your DAW. honestly though just get whatever is cheap
Eli Morris
>watching someone i know spend thousands on gear when they don't even know what control voltages do
guyz can you comment on stuff i'm doing? i'm not sure if it sounds okay. well, i'm sure it sounds not okay but litterally don't understand what am i doing wrong. clyp.it/fcfy5cs2
the guitar lead doesn't really fit i'd keep the rhythm guitar in the background and swap the lead with another synth

Need help with wonky audio on my new win10 desktop computer....
It works like it should when I plug my headphones into the line in port in the back but when I plug them into the front headphone jack I get a low/muffled/reverby sound, same thing happens when I connect my Komplete audio 6 interface (even when I disable all other audio drivers). Does anyone know what the fuck is going on? Please help!!
There was a girl like this I went to uni with, she had 20k worth of synths but she didn’t even know what a sine wave was :/
God she was dumb
William Wilson
>when I connect my Komplete audio 6 interface when you plug your headphones into your KA6 or is the output from from your KA6 weird, period?

Caleb Johnson
it's not a headset with a mic by any chance is it?
Christopher Rogers
No, beyerdynamic headphones I've tried my earbuds too, same thing
Samuel Sullivan
What did she use them for?
Jace Adams
She didn’t use them for anything useful, she was trying to create a studio and thought that if she has all this gear people will think she is professional. And want to work with her. She’s a pure analog autist as well, anything digital wasn’t good enough (even though she knew nothing about synthesis at all and just used presets) she has a Juno 106 sitting there in pristine condition that hasn’t been touched in 5 years since she bought it :/
Easton Bailey
Oh basically the only musical thing she did was put sample pack loops together and claim she made it herself (she made techno)
Joseph Rodriguez
control panel > sound > right click your device in the playback list and click 'properties' > check that there are no weird sound enhancements or anything on
failing that, while in there, switch to a different sample rate and see if anything changes.
does the problem persist when going into a DAW and using an ASIO driver?
Colton Martin
So was her plan to make actual music with them or to just build a studio as an entrepreneurial venture?
Tyler Campbell
She can’t make music with them because she has no idea how they work. I’m not even exaggerating.
She was going to buy a broken 808 just to sit there for photos and claim it worked, you know those guys who buy synths just for insta? Well that was her studio really
Wyatt Powell
Yeah, but what was the plan? To one day learn? To get other people to make music with her equipment and put her name on the release? To get paid for letting other people use it? Or to just show them off?
Jacob Thompson
Good song
Jace Watson
I showed this song to my irl friends (they didn't know I produced prior) and they called me an unrealistic fagget. Are they right Yea Forums ??
>control panel > sound > right click your device in the playback list and click 'properties' > check that there are no weird sound enhancements or anything on
This was my first thought as well but everything I could find is already turned off I might be missing something though, I'll check again for the 10th time
>does the problem persist when going into a DAW and using an ASIO driver? Yes...I tried asio4all>ka6, still fucked up I really appreciate the help!
Lucas Fisher
maybe she was waiting for a /prod/ bro to show her how to. it seems you missed an opportunity to use very expensive gear
Jacob Allen
i'm a little out of ideas. try the sample rate switch and see if anything changes.
if you're using a 3.5mm to 1/4 adapter, try switching that out. the thing you're describing sounds a bit like when a jack isn't seated properly.
out of curiosity why are you using asio4all instead of the native instrument's own asio driver?
Cameron Clark
I did use them, but she was so thick I just couldn’t be bothered anymore. It was like talking to drying paint. Even I couldn’t deal with that for analog gear
Kayden Lewis
I don't know what a sine wave is, what would it look like if it was visible, why is a sine wave
Daniel Gray
>try the sample rate switch and see if anything changes
No change...
>if you're using a 3.5mm to 1/4 adapter, try switching that out. the thing you're describing sounds a bit like when a jack isn't seated properly
I have the exact same problem when I plug my headphones (no adapter) into the front headphone jack on my computer (works great when I plug them into the line in port in the back though)
>out of curiosity why are you using asio4all instead of the native instrument's own asio driver? I've tried both
I just reinstalled the realtek driver too, no change I'm losing my fucking mind
Lucas Thomas
Do you have another pc you could try?
Nathan Ross
sorry m80, i'm a little bit stumped.
do you have any other software running like voicemeter banana or JACK or anything like that?
>explain the joke I think it's a dig at boomerrack "musicians".
Tyler Jenkins
>do you have any other software running like voicemeter banana or JACK or anything like that?
No, nothing like that... Thanks anyway
Ethan Hernandez
>It also shows something more fundamental to the history of electronic music. In the last quarter century or so, dance music has followed an arc common in other forms of music and art. After however many years of innovation, they arrive at a point where all potential new elements seem to have been created. Reese basslines, amen breaks, acid—hard as it may be to imagine now, at one point these things were literally new, not existing one day and existing the next, and which, at some point, were played on a dance floor for the first time. Nothing is certain, but that fertile period may have ended, just as it ended, sooner or later, for most other art forms, from jazz to rock to theater and painting. There is unlikely to be another dubstep or minimal, just as there is unlikely to be another cubism.
You inspired the shit out of me with that. Take Justice's style from Cross and build upon it. I think that was the most epic electronic music ever made before Skrillex (and I believe it was the peak, with Genesis setting into motion the dubstep wubs), and even his stuff sounds tame in comparison after you've listened to it a few times. The last thing to do is take the Cross formula, use hyper compression for the most ear-raping sound possible, and make every track sound as driving and ambitious as Genesis - most definitely making use of baroque neoclassical sounds. That was JS Bach's music as well.
>Bach’s mastery of all the major forms of baroque music (except opera) resulted not only from his genius talent, but also from his life long quest for knowledge.
I've got to think some more. I'm going to learn how to synthesize better.
James Ward
>I'm going to learn how to synthesize better. so far this is the best outcome of your quest
Kevin King
For anyone interested in the risks of using pirated samples/libraries, pic related is on AudioZ right now.
learn how your DAW works first before getting a bunch of vsts. pretty much every major daw includes all the tools you'll need to make music
Chase Williams
>clyp.it/ntotxgm0 sloppy. learn to use dynamics. vocals are out of time.
Jonathan Morgan
anyone know any free audio websites where i can download things like speeches, conversations, or spoken word kind of shit?

fuck off you've shitted up this general enough I hate you for killing /prod/. Nothing you do will ever make ammends.
Easton Wright
What's the best phone DAW? Tried out caustic and liked it a lot. Mostly want it so I can jot down ideas on the bus or just fuck around and make music on the go.
I assume you have an Android phone so this might not be useful to you, but iOS has an app called Auxy which can export as an Ableton project file that you can continue working on on your computer. IIRC they had to convince the Ableton devs to make some APIs or something, but now they're available to all developers, so it's possible that we'll soon see many mobile apps (Android included) that can export as Ableton Live sets.
Chase Lopez
It's beautiful
Kayden Cooper
i like it

clyp.it/ijo0soxn working on a remix for the 1000gecs remix compilation, how is it sounding so far?
No, there's a few. Just for curiosity, are you new here?
Adrian Lopez
As far as Android goes I think you're best off with Caustic or Sunvox. I have both but have never used them for more than doodling, and for that purpose I like Caustic better because Sunvox's tracker workflow doesn't translate so well to a touchscreen and I'm not 1337 enough to carry a folding keyboard to plug into my phone.
Wyatt Miller
No but I come and go often

Shh, there's a lot of anti-reasonism going around here. We Chosen People need to keep a low profile for now. Keep your faith strong Brother, but close to your heart.
if you add the rick and morty clips it would sound like a advert for the show but it could work i can see them playing it on adult swim to hype up a new episode or something
You're paying for their employees to have health insurance, fresh air, and 8 hour work days (plus break and tip). Just buy Chinese if you want cheap analog, otherwise you're paying name-brand markup.
Nolan Hernandez
I'm joking around about that, was trying to lay down some ideas after listening to stuff in yesterdays thread desu
Lincoln Gomez
>$600 vs $200 This is the future of the degenerate West.
She's not a tranny. She's a beautiful woman who could have my children. We'd have blonde haired and blue eyed kids... with long canines. I have the pronounced canines too. I look a lot like her actually.
I need her. I can't stop watching her Kamikaze video. Halp
idk if any of that is meant to be listenable or just for showing off the moog/earthquaker pedals? just couldn't get into it desu
Jace Hernandez
they unironically limit the amount they make to make them more sought after and worth loads in 20+ years. its dumb
Lincoln Cruz
nah they're more like the music man of synths
Hunter Torres
bump
any hardware peeps on?
Zachary Rodriguez
some sort of rain machine?
Lincoln Lewis
have you tried not being autistic?
Levi Lewis
all izotope ozone products currently 60$ off!!!! ozone advanced down to $200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! get it while it lasts!!!!!!!!!!!! before its $500 again!!!!!!!
Ayden Myers
also if you buy a product on pluginboutique ($1 for some of the things) you get iris 2 for free this month which is great!!!!
Cameron Clark
its hard bro
Benjamin Diaz
Create actual melodies that don't just move between neighbouring notes and give the song form. Also work on your synthesis game, sounds like presets.
Nolan Perez
>[laughs in russian]
John Cox
ye but lazy
Angel Gutierrez
the only ozone plugin worth using is the imager wich is free this is nice however if you don't pirate
Parker Cook
>iris 2 i am still so fucking salty that i bought that thing for 50 bucks and literally the next month they bundled it with trash for the same price. and now they're practically giving it away!!!!
iris gets no love :(
Josiah Taylor
im so glad i bought it bundled with trash for £40 or whatever it was. but now im pissed because they are giving it away for free :/
Cooper Reyes
im hoping because they keep selling those for half decent prices they might actually update the ui soon.. especially on trash. probs not tho
Bentley Cook
I pirated it a couple of years ago, installed it and uninstalled it a few weeks later. It's one of those things that are cool in theory but in practice they're not very usable. At the end of the day it's like a sampler with a very precise filter and it almost always sounds weird (not in a good way).
Oliver Moore
what's wrong with trash ui? I would rather see more options for the convolution module like melda
Angel Ross
it's probably way more useful for odd sound design than anything else, but i do agree i just hate the UI
Jonathan Wilson
UI snobs are the worst.
Leo Richardson
dunno i've just never liked the look. (but i love absolutely basic UI's that get the job done, so im not a great judge)
Brayden Brooks
ur mom!!!!!
Cooper Green
If a UI is shit, it failed its purpose. This might fly in the world of pragmatic linux autists but it shouldn't be the norm.
Camden Campbell
bleh
Justin Myers
new thread every1 im so glad this thread was actually decent for once! :)
Ayden Jenkins
I see, I don't care about the look but more about how they function and their visual feedback, trash is kinda bad for the modulations and the layout of the compressor but otherwise is solid phaseplant for instance has that basic ableton like look but it ends being quite confusing and convoluted due to the layout, I especially hate scrolling through the effects in those tiny channels
Daniel Walker
>In practice they're not very usable. Completely depends on your music i'm le quirky funny noises guy so i use it all the time for layered leads.... it's completely normal sounding for pads, good for ambient stuff too :p
Jordan Jackson
ugly tranny fucks
Alexander Hill
Please post examples. All I managed to make (and hear on YT) had that "spectral" sound where it's either something like stacking sines or something like brickwall filtering. I'd love to find some cool uses for it because it is a very fun plugin after all, so please prove me wrong.
Adam Young

Jackson Morgan
why do i love being pegged so much :/
Brayden Long
i'm about to head out rn, post about it next thread to remind me and i will.
also i know exactly what you're talking about, there's something of a "standard" sound people make with it if you could call it that
Jose Johnson
i unironically like the visual feedback
Colton Howard

Joseph Hill
Done:
Benjamin Brooks
fuck u all
Gabriel Campbell
Mostly a show-off unless you're really into ambient genres. Mostly I think it'd be fun to DO that, not to listen to it afterwards.
