AOTD
I know it sounds pretty tourist-y, but my favorite is Loveless. I just love how the guitars kind of melt together into a huge wall full of different textures and timbres.
That and Sweet Trip VDC were the last shoegaze albums that i have enjoyed from start to finish. I hardly find anything new on the genre interesting
currently in love with True Widow. cant really decide which one of their albums is the best but atm i cant stop listening to Avvolgere and their self-titled one.
Look harder, there are so many albums i have found that are amazing. No i wont spoonfeed since you shit on my favourite genre
Dont get me wrong. Shoegaze is one of my favorite genres. Is just that is getting stale lately. Lots of Slowdive and MBV clones with some synths and post rock influences.
Catherine wheel chrome/texuture
Both great albums , im not sure its shoegaze though
god I love that album. I recently got a tattoo of the cover actually.
I'm posting Grandeur of Hair because despite not being strictly shugazi it still mantains the vibe.
Kinda slow
Reminds me of duster
I feel it. Try some underground shit
youtu.be
been in love with C&C and VDC, always my favorites
recently been listening to pic related, Yuragi, LSD and the search for God, and this one self titled EP by Ozean that sounds just like Loveless. good stuff all around
it's okay user, it's hard to top Loveless desu, it's an amazing record. no one's faulting you for loving it
feeling the same way, after those two most things become kinda same-y
i don't know of much that's as beautiful, lush or playful as those records while maintaining an ability to express emotion at the same time. brilliant stuff
good shit
at first it felt slow for me as well, but then it really grew on me
Based. I just got both their vinyls. Crispy as fuck

I looked into The Veldt recently. I thought Afrodisiac was ok so I decided to look into that Drake Equation EP that was released recently
>start listening to the second track
>the song is built around a sample of "Underground Kings" by Drake
>immediately confused but keep listening
>another track samples "Lust for Life" by Drake
>wtf why are these sampling Dr-
>look back at the title
>mfw
It's not that songs were necessarily bad either but recognizing the beats really took me out of the whole listening experience.
Holy shit, this is amazing. Charade feels like a livid circus in a dream. Thank you.
Stella Luna - Stargazer
>shoegaze

Can't provide links for now, but I'm sure it's on Soulseek somewhere.
Actually, Charade reminded me of this track.
Diaries - Chestnut Bakery
>dreampop
Great pick OP, one of my favourites.
I've found so much great shoegaze recently, I can barely pick. I saw this EP recced on /shugazi/ and really like the emo influences on this, and their other work.
Other than that, recently finished exploring the whole shoegaze & japanese shoegaze charts, and am trying to find new stuff outside of that. This genre is so expansive that there's always something new I haven't heard yet.
A couple more I've enjoyed
>She Sir, Ways a Season

>Infinity Girl, somewhere nice, someday

>The Depreciation Guild, In Her Gentle Jaws (personal favourite)

Check these guys from my country, Venezuela and rate their first and last project.
I want you to know I've downloaded literally everything you've posted in various sharethreads. I fucking love dream pop so thanks for sharing all these obscure bands I would have never found otheriwse
whats the distinction between shoegaze and dream pop?
shoegaze is a mix of distorted noise guitars with dreamy sounds. dream pop has dreamy sounds but it doesnt really need guitars.
more harsher, hazey guitar driven noise vs. dreamy, ethereal lush noise
shit not bad
don't forget the zip folder of loosies
>mega.nz
It's the best one in the genre. It deserves the reputation it has.
>Eyedazzler
Here's a music video of Slowbleed using footage from Vampyr (1932).
These are good'n's
this is my favorite. i know the name of the band is kind of silly but god do i love backwards so much.
idk if you'd count the helio sequence - keep your eyes ahead as shoegaze, its a bit more shoegaze pop territory, but that'd be my number 2.
also a big autolux fan
YES thank you!
I like it too. Good taste
No problem. I think I may have missed a few tracks that were uploaded recently by one of the band members on Soundcloud, so I'll try to update it asap
Backwards is hella underrated. Those guitars feel like you're soaring through space.
Album of the year.
Wonderful people as well, got drunk with them after a show.
do I have this right?
dream pop is boneless noise pop
noise pop is boneless noise rock
noise rock is boneless shoegaze
one of the noisiest albums I've heard
i was gonna mention that in my post but it almost feels like its too heavy to be categorized shoegaze. its more on the level with deafhaven imo. its fantastic either way
the last part is wrong
I just fucking love these guys. Every single fucking song they've made is great.

finish the rec chart buddy
Save yourself some time and start with VDC
Great album. Thanks
Yep, I posted them earlier in the thread. Listened to their whole discography again today, only wish it was bigger :(
been this for a while
I could never stand any shoegaze but OP's album, and I wouldn't even call it shoegaze
Ferment is shoegaze. Chrome is right on the periphery, but God tier if it counts.
>blind mr jones
Is this the only flutegaze band?
10/10. Coma Waering is good too.
Newest find of mine is Slow Crush
youtu.be
Nothing groundbreaking but great anyway
Love Soundpool. Does with disco what Bowery Electric does with triphop.
do you know who did the artwork for the cover by any chance?
I've seen all sorts of people on this board hype this album but it's not even that good.
yuragi is top tier stuff, exactly the sound I want from shoegaze youtu.be
been loving You'll Never Get To Heaven's self titled
Ozean
great shoegaze project, only recorded this 4 song demo ep
Blow by Swallow is a great forgotten 4AD album that feels like a pastiche of all the different dreampop/shoegaze sounds of the late 80s/early 90s. Hints of Cocteau Twins, J&MC, some noisy tracks, some poppy. Good shit.

20 seconds in but that riff made me smile, great rec friend.
