Stereolab best stuff is decades old and so is millions now living. how are those modern? maybe my definition of modern is wrong. I meant relatively new records, as in released in this decade like pic related or even like some King Gizzard and Oh Sees records.
this is pretty cool user, thanks.
already one of my favorite records of the decade. thanks though.
stereolab could have came out in the 70s and they would still sound modern, faggot
I love stereolab but that doesn't change the fact that I specifically asked for newer records because I already listened to all of their shit, you dense mouthbreather.

contemporary is 'current'
modern...is complicated. it depends on if you're talking about history or art or what, but since we are talking about art, then 'modern' ends around the mid 60s and begins its slow transition to post-modern
Minimal techno and more or less every post-rock band of the early-to-mid nineties. Besides that, not much. The tradition of minimalism in popular music has been extinguished, and referencing krautrock is a little passe now.
Try black midi.
I've noticed that every new krautrock band is also into no wave, and vice versa. That's an interesting trend.
