Ok, so been listening to this for the last couple of weeks. I like it, but it sorta feels like it's lacking something. It's really repetitive at times, and some songs just aren't that great. Also there's no windowlicker there. Ultimately I'm giving it a 7/10. Am i missing something, do i firstly need to listen to his other stuff? Or is it just overrated?

>implying a 7/10 is a weak score

I said i like it meaning that it's good. I just don't think it's as high as everyone makes it out to be.

Check out Druqks

try I Care Because You Do

Why would you even expect Windowlicker to be on there, Windowlicker was made 3 years later
RDJ Album is best enjoyed in context with other drum n bass being made around the same time period, listen to Squarepusher's Hard Normal Daddy, Photek's Modus Operandi and Plug's Drum n Bass for Papa
There's also Hangable Auto Bulb, released prior to RDJ Album under the AFX name

Thanks for the recommendations, i didn't say i expected windowlicker to be there. I said there is nothing like windowlicker's standarts there.

he will never release a bolded album again

i like his soundcloud tracks a lot more desu. ive listened to most everything hes made by now and I like those a lot more than any album or EP hes released

Jacksfilms?

Girl/Boy Song tho

RDJ is a perfect album but his best track ever is Alberto Balsalm from the very spotty I Care Because You Do

>I can't validate my own opinions
The Drukqs and ICBYD score says everything you need to know about that website.

kek

You haven't learned how to cure a weakling child.

meaning?

I always hear "my tits, my hands and my ass"

Listen to Polygon Window. Except for SAW, RDJ's best stuff is not under Aphex Twin

It's shit

>no windowlicker there

So you’re complaining that a song released 3 years after the album came out isn’t on the album?

Omg I hate this board. Just listen to what you like. And if you’re using this board for discovery, you’re doing it wrong.

why?

You are so retarded that you immediately wrote your post without understanding what he said.

SEE

What's your problem? Discussing likes/dislikes and trying to expand your tastes by getting other opinions is the only possible use of a music board.

its amazing how much Drukqs has had a resurgence on that site, i seem to remember it being ~3.2 a few years ago and now everyone has a hardon over it.

super pleb opinion
This board seems to have lost its culture but at least when I joined Yea Forums it was a great way to see what a general consensus was for a modern canon. I was a turboplen who listened to Tool, Radiohead and shit like Trivium, this board helped expose me to standout music from loads of different areas and genres, and the elitism which oldfags had made you reconsider what it actually was about the music you currently liked that made you listen to it. its "subjective" fuckheads like you who make any musical discussion impossible, music is inherently a social experience and trying to say "lol just listen to what you like" misses the point of a discussion board entirely.
stop posting

Why should i use this board then? Billie eilish posting?

based

rym is by and for cucks

Thats cause aphex is like the radiohead of the "electronic" music world, he's a good intro to different areas but he's not gonna be that deep

well, AT was special back in the 90s because you needed talent (and expensive hardware) to do music like he did. Today every dumb teen can fire up Ableton or FL in a cheap laptop and make similar shit

>drukqs
>saw
>saw 2
>rdj album
>Icbyd
>syro
In that order

syro is criminally underrated, it's not amazingly consistent but the highs are the peaks of his discog

agreed user, the opening two tracks are some of my most played Aphex

Syro is a mature album which takes a while to get in to. Most of AT's stuff from the 90's and early 00's are either abrasive or humoristic.

both good choices
congrats, you are one of the few on here with actual good opinions
