Is this why she killed a nun?

you should be able to straight up steal people’s music

this

shout out to dbz budokai soundtrack producer

Is the jury people who are completed uneducated about music? The only similarity is the beat, and it consisted of an extremely basic melody that two people could easily compose independently, especially considering how obscure this band is. Maybe it'd be different if the artist was actually famous, but there are 100000x more obscure artists than well known ones, so of course somone's going to have the same simple beat somewhere.

>MAI WAIFUUUUUUU :(

LeCrae isn't obscure, and Katy Perry definitely knows who he is.

>He thinks Katy Perry wrote the song

No but she was exposed to the beat before recording

>people still think music can be original

Beg your pardon?

She has writing credits for that song specifically. I don't know shit about her but I think I heard before she is one of the pop artists who is at least somewhat involved in the writing.

We need to talk more about Billboard Top 40 music, I am gathering a group of dedicated people to change the face of this dead board.

Again. Beg your pardon?

What are you on about

Might be stealing, might not. There's no way to really tell for sure imo.

Crazy verdict

This whole "you stole my drum beat" shit is bad for music. I'm so sick of these fucking invalids taking people to court because their song has a similar chord progression

How about the recent Stairway to Heaven ruling. That was absolutely ripped. So was that Lana Radiohead thing.

>NOOOOOOOOO THEY TOOK MY SHITTY SOMG AND MADE IT BETTER NOOOOOOOOO

Oh, and the This Is America rip was really really bad. Even worse how they responded to the accusation.

it’s a symptom of monetizing art and is unhealthy for progression

he's trolling, just stop responding

Intellectual property is a meme

hello there

You can't, like, OWN sounds dude.

It won't affect her.

Then where is the money it generates suppose to go?

this
but unironically

musician here.
there's like literally five variations to a melody.
been trying to find a sixth for the longest time.
music is ridiculously repetitive and there's very little variation.
it's easy to copy someone else.

cont.
also percussion is pretty limited too.
not a lot of options to be "creative".

lol you mustn't be much of a musician

you become a real musician once you realize how simplistic music is composition-wise.

Pretty much everyone realizes how simplistic music is you don't have to be a musician do Understand that

Except you obviously don't think it's that simple since you're struggling to make things that aren't just a rip off of something else.

When will Buffalo Bill Eilish get found guilty for stealing from The Doors?

Reminds me of that Timberland produced Nelly Furtado song that was a straight up copy paste of a finnish guys 8-bit music track.
Nothing came of it because he was just too big to sue for a nobody from finland.

Now THAT was outright stealing.

This is the true redpill.
