inner mounting flame has the greatest recorded performance on an electric guitar, he deserves to be on the top 5 just for that album alone

>hating on garcia
You’ll grow up to be a boomer one day

yeah I'm not saying he's not good. Inner mounting flame is definitely the best thing he has but looking at his entire work i feel there are some less technically good players that I just genuinely enjoy more than him

Me as a Bassist

>setting your standards so low that you have a bassist in your list

OP is based and redpilled

yeah maybe i just overvalue technical skill, if i went of enjoyment alone my number 1 would most likely be howe and holdsworth would not be on the list

>Robert Fripp
>Frank Zappa
>Arto Lindsay
>Seiichi Yamamoto
>Helios Creed

my favorite is howe, I think he's a perfect mix of technical and actually emotionally good playing. Technical wise I don't really think anyone is better than Holdsworth but he sounds like a guitar playing robot

Oddly enough I might say Steve Hillage would maybe be my number 5
