They're a great band. I'm only 20 and I like them a lot. This was the first album I listened to, it was on YouTube in its entirety a few years ago. I put it on and fell asleep, it was soothing and intriguing. I've been a fan of theirs since. Although I do genuinely prefer their earlier work which most won't agree with.

Because Thom The God predicted this ebil impersonal urban sad rainy post-modern world with OK Computer, the greatest album of all time

Their only good albums are Kid A and In Rainbows. The rest are absolute dogshit.

Pretty much, and ok computer is best listened to driving away from the city into the countryside on a crowded highway like the one on the cover for maximum kino effect

~le ebin redditor band XD epic!

I was never huge into them. Personally, anyone who had listened to music beyond the radio wouldn't be that impressed with OK Computer (which was a logical progression from rock like U2 - Achtung Baby and Pink Floyd) and Kid A (which did the whole "electronic reinvention" thing that other bands had done except ripping off the IDM sound of the moment). It's cool that a band with that kind of visibility was doing that sort of thing, but plenty of random artists did it better.

I find it funny that people on this site would stop breathing if a redditor said they like air.

look ma I'm contrarian on the internet

It's not my fault that Radiohead is pure rubbish man

>It’s not my fault that my music taste is objectively shit

Pure rubbish man is such a contradiction. Pure rubbish is an expression used by the English and I've never heard any other national from an English speaking country use the word rubbish to mean something bad, except from England of course. However your use of calling somebody 'man' suggests that you're an American and/or a teenager. No wonder you can't understand Radiohead.

What are you talking about? Northern bongs say man all the time.

Lol you literally listen to music equivalent of capeshit and want to tell me I have shitaste?

Well I'm from York and I've never heard anyone say man unless they're doing an impression of an American.

Hmmm, no, Radiohead is the musical equivalent of David Fincher, an objectively great film maker

No, he's probably a Nolan. Have good flicks but massively overrated and his overly sentimental shit always ruin everything.

Honestly, I don't get why this site has a giant hateboner for this shit.

>comparing a popular alternative band
to capeshit

Radiohead is mainstream as fuck, they are not alternative anymore. They are part of soundtracks of soap operas all the time here where I live.

Ok Computer is literally to musicwhat cinema is to fight club

Not at all. Downward Spiral is. Palahniuk himself said that that album was a massive inspiration and he listened to it all the time while writing Fight Club.

No they are Paul Thomas Anderson. Critics don't like Nolan that much.

because they hit the perfect balance between basic experimentalism and pop appeal

Plenty of artists did It,but not necessarily better, and not the way they did

Boomers don't like Radiohead, they usually hate anything fom the 90s and afetr

Scotland doesn't exist, so based

I mean personally, i think OK Computer is just fine. maybe even 7/10. I don't believe it's the godsend this website says it is, but it's good.

Kid A is fucking bullshit to my ears and i will defend that any day. Also AMSP is 6/10 The Bends is 8/10 and In Rainbows is 5/10

Tell me i'm wrong now

You're wrong now

you're wrong because ok computer and the bends are both 10/10s, but you're also extremely based because in rainbows is shit

In my opinion, this is the best Radiohead album.
This or In Rainbows.

Why do zoomers hate OK Computer so much? It was a hallmark alt rock album of the 90s and paved the way for Radiohead's later works and influenced the sound of later bands (especially British alt rock ones).

i never listened to a radiohead album untill i read all the jealousy regarding their success. i still dont get it. but i get that people dont wanna look further once they have heard it. its easily digestible.

they have a bunch of good albums, but they arent really an essential band
