not nearly as bad as Yea Forums makes it out to be.
solid 7/10
better than the now now.
Always thought Humanz got a bad wrap due to its more political motives.
My second favourite Gorillaz album after plastic beach. I feel like if it wasn't released under the 'Gorillaz' name, and was outwardly more of a collaborative album, it's reception would have been better. I have very fond memories of it, because it came out as I was really starting to delve into music, and I had it on repeat when commuting to school. I love the atmosphere it builds.
This desu
Ah, I always saw the kind of gorillaz makes always varies and is experimental with mixing different genres
I didn't see this album to not be gorillaz id be more upset if they stuck onto one genre for the entire album but it does vary
I just don't care anymore
It’s as solid as a piece of shit
Wildly mediocre
I don't listen to gorillas.
What stuff do you listen to user?
Damon should've stopped after the fall every release gets shittier
plastic beach>ST>demon days
never bothered with humanz, should probably do that
also the now now is great too
okay I listened to it
It's ok I guess. Didn't really like it but wasn't offensively bad at least. It's like, every other Gorillaz album feels like they collab with people but this one felt like they were just part of other people's collabs instead this time? I dunno how to word what I mean better than that. Doubt I'd bother relistening to it any time soon like I regularly do with PB or ST. Only songs I liked on par with anything in the other albums were Busted and Blue and She's My Collar. We Got the Power's also nice but it feels like something you'd hear when the credits of a sports movie start.
Worst Gorillaz album but it still had some bangers, and its far better than 90% of all music produced in the last 10 years.
Just bad compared to the discography before it. 4.5/10
The Now Now feels like a move in the right direction by damon although you can tell the budget and passion put into the project was significantly less.
The now now is much better
also Just listened to Sleeping Powder and it's better than at least 80% of Humanz
Too long, has higher highs than The Fall, The Now Now, or Self titled (judging including how poorly it’s aged)
correct. also made in 2 days, music vid included.
>also made in 2 days
why do I get the impression their less produced, more rushed out music is the better stuff in the last few years
god awful
killed my interest in gorillaz
MOMENTZ is so bad that it'a actually funny
It’s somehow worse than The Fall
Everyone says they love Rhinestone eyes but I think its totalnshit. Only good song from plastic Beach is melancholy hill. Then nothing good after that. Saw that giant worm singing nigger music.
Empire Ants? Some kind of nature? Stylo? How can you say melancholy is the only good song?
Do Ya Thing is the best Gorillaz song.
Their low point.
2/10
I honestly think Damon is the best musician of the century, but I think this album deserves some of the criticism it deserves. It has great songs but it also has some bad songs like Momentz. If that was the first song I'd heard by them, I probably wouldn't have bothered with the rest of their discography. It felt like they gave way too much freedom and space to the features, even more than usual, some of which were trash, and it's Damon's fault for allowing that. Danny Brown was particularly bad, he ruined Submission for me

IT DARE
Im indifferent to this album. Damon likes his token negros and had Noel Gallagher on a song for some reason.
he did that because he's middle aged and out of his own ideas
Pretty much
Real hot kaka, man.
Only good Gorillaz songs
>5/4
>Do ya Thing
>Dare
Bad album, only good songs are Submission (only thanks to based Kelela) and Busted and Blue
You hate "nigger music", but you also listen to Gorillaz? The band that has elements of (excluding alternative rock), hip hop, trip hop, dub reggae, and on the first album, Afro-Cuban music? Kill yourself, right now.
Demon Days was their only good album.
s/t and The Fall have some okay tracks but are boring as a whole.
Everything else is shit.
Gorillaz - 7.5/10
G-Sides - 5/10
Demon Days - 8/10
D-Sides - 6.5/10
Plastic Beach - 9/10
The Fall - 7/10
Humanz - 4/10
H-Sides - 2/10
The Now Now - 6/10
gorillaz died after The Fall
damon's gone crazy
SEEEEXXXX MUUURRDEEER PARRTYTYY
Plastic Beach was the last good record. prove me wrong.
Overrated shit for hipsters and hot topic faggots
*wannabe hipsters
its fucking shit, damon literally just picked out some random black artists, gave them an instrumental to sing over the top about how they have it so hard as a black person and the final product is about as consistent as my nightly shits (not consistent)
>Self titled (judging including how poorly it’s aged)
how has s/t aged terribly?
No hipster would admit to listening to this.
Had some solid tunes but honestly Gorillaz is kid's music. I still like them in a nostalgic way, but they'll never have a massive hit single or hit album again.
>but they'll never have a massive hit single or hit album again.
if you're talking on the level of feel good then sure but Humility was still decently big last year
ok
the fall was good
>Gorillaz is kid's music
how?
Could have been a solid 8 if they trimmed the fat, some of the band's best tracks are on this album.
its a good album, maybe a little bloated, but theres definitly a good albums worth of material in there
