There are people here who take influence from this shitty band. Worse than Weezer

I think that Yea Forums's stance tends to be that these guys got popularized and are relevant because they pandered to the edgy scene at the time. Personally though that all kinda missed me, I kinda knew them through their first two singles but that was it. I heard the singles from their fourth album and decided to actually go through their discography and give them a chance. Against pretty much all odds (edgy image, modern pop, relevant among teens, accessible, etc), the music itself was actually really good. I think theres an assumption that they're accessible so they must be bad, but in my experience that's just untrue. There's always an interesting musical motif going on somewhere in the dense compositions. Typically people here would read that and scoff, thinking "how many buzzwords is this guy gonna use to describe shitty modern radio pop" or something, but I'm a person who is very aware and skeptical of braindead turbonormie music out there, so all I can say is that they shouldn't be shoveled in that pile at all. Being accessible, radio friendly, teen relevant, modern pop, or any combination of those things doesn't equal being bad, as that would be an extremely contrarian way to look at it. I understand that a lot of Yea Forums tries to be efficient in deciding what music is worth listening to, and are jaded to anything that fits under one of those categories, much less all of them. So I understand, but don't exactly agree.
>accuses others of autism
>sonic hedgehog reaction image
Oh the irony
Also, make 90% of this board change their opinion? I am willing to bet 90% of Yea Forums hates or doesn’t carr about PATD
I used to want to fuck these boys
Fuck you I can hear this picture now it's playing in my head
I still jam to Panick! from time to time.
Eh, idk. I can't invalidate your experience but as someone who also isn't into the whole "popular therefore bad" thing I just can't appreciate these guys. Some of the tracks from Fever are great (I Write Sins and Camisado are the only ones that come to mind) and I really like Pretty. Odd., but outside of that I just can't get into them. Ryan Ross left and The Brendon Urie Experience is just extremely lame imo. It's theater kid music, stuff for people who get easily impressed by expressive vocals but don't understand nuance. Outside of a couple tracks on Vices like Sarah Smiles, I have no interest in what they (meaning Brendon and his backing band) do past the Ross era.
Damn, i used to listen to these guys. Their dirst albums were great but they went downhill after ryan left, brendon wasnt as good a writer.
Based and correct. Ryan carried the rest of the band. But sarah smiles has a bangin fucken bassline
based and truthpilled
Spot on. Urie is incredibly talented and puts on a good live show but he's just this glee Freddy Mercury without a great collaborator like Ross. Fever and pretty odd were like lennon-mccartney level of catchy and tastefully complex
