That was a concert at the bunkamura music hall, with tokyo philarmonic orchestra. It was released as a double CD-set and VHS. That rapper, Mali, also did some tracks on Evangelion Vox. Shiro Sagisu got very interested in rnb and hip hop around that time (it's why the ending theme of EP. 25 Air is an rnb vocal version of thanatos.)
Something that 4channers won't shut the fuck up about even though none of them have anything of value to say? Billy Eilish.

Some speculate that if you play it correctly the movie matches up to the album.

honestly EoE can match with everything. It's a masterpiece of so many different layers and nuances that you can make everything match to any particular moment in the movie.
I mean, the movie itself throws you off by playing a cheerful pop song during the literal apocalypse.
Well, the song has a clear lyrical dissonance.
Probably more obvious to us, it doesn't seem like the song has been subtitled for Japanese audiences so the lyrical dissonance might not have been obvious to them right from the get go.
Lol how is that a "cope"?

EoE OST is actually one of the best movie soundtracks for me, up there with stuff like Peter Gabriel's Passion or Vangelis' L'apocalypse des animaux.
Hey Jude

Funnily enough, I didn't like Komm, susser tod at all at first. This is because I heard the OST before being able to obtain the movie. I was trying to imagine the movie looking at the small pics on the cd booklet, and I was loving it. Komm kind of threw me off and struck me as a silly gospell song, couldn't picture out how it'd fit the movie. I'm also ESL and didn't understand the lyrics at the time.
It was only after watching the actual movie that it clicked and the song did a 180 turn for me.
But yeah, back then my most played tracks were actually the first 2. That terrifying piano madness.
My actual favorite tracks for the OST are definitely Munashiki Nagare/Passage of Emptiness and Expansion of Blockade
