used masks and satanic image associated with them, then the third vocalist started a drama which almost ends with the band

>the average Yea Forums user mentality is that if someone is succesful they must be an industry plant

no you fucking idiot. They make pretty accessible classic heavy metal, coupled with interesting imagry and esthetics. Their success is pretty obvious. The same way people like Greta Van Fleet. They want to feel like they're in the 70s or something.

What's not to like about an Iron Maiden cover band?

>Iron Maiden cover band
user you are a fucking idiot

>shitty pop rock
>iron maiden cover band
pick one

I mean they try I'm not saying they are as good as Iron Maiden but it's an off-brand that I can appreciate. It's like when restaurants only have Pepsi instead of Coke. I'm not complaining.

Okay
well then I pick the thing I originally said, which was Iron Maiden cover band
Dummy

>not blue oyster cult
go fuck yourself

Iron Maiden is more fitting

name an Iron Maiden song they covered

Peak iron maiden is fast, operatic, and up tempo. They're none of those.

"Chinese Retarded Guy with AIDS" was probably the most famous one but I dunno all of them

Ghost looks like they play badass death metal with balls but they sound like what hot girls think heavy music is.

Wasn't it rumored that Mikael Akerfelt was one of the guitarists during one point in their lineup?

I fucking hope not. Don't even joke about that.

>I fucking hope not. Don't even joke about that.

Think about the guitar tone and arrangements from Ghosts first album, maybe I'm literally tone deaf but dat guitar tone is almost identical to Mikael's

Me finding out that Mike was in Ghost would be like when Cosby boomers had to come to terms with the rapes.

>Mikael Akerfel

he played acoustic guitar on the instrumental track Helvetesfönster off of Prequelle

>he played acoustic guitar on the instrumental track Helvetesfönster off of Prequelle

oh, okay

it actually took them some time to become really popular. I don't think they are a plant

yeah. not a plant but pretty sure they are aware how derivative they are and are just laughing all the way to the bank

>Iron Maiden
nah. they're mercyful fate stripped of all aggression with a mediocre singer.
it's heavy metal for people that don't like heavy music. they never would've got exposure at all if the lead singer wasn't a freemason luciferian.

>third vocalist
You mean the only vocalist

Metalfags are desperate and clinged on to them checking a lot of le metal checkboxes even though theyre more of a hard rock pop band, they have the aesthetic down.

>mercyful fate
not even close. Mercyful Fate goes fucking hard. These guys are just pussified trash.

who is it, leon redbone?

It's amazing how many shit bands I'd never heard of until I started coming here

they're just a Satanic stryper

This interview really got me on board, found it by accident. The channel is also cool that kid legit talks to legends and has great questions. Yeah for one second holster your faggy cynicism and opinions, check it out
Tobias knows how to interview but he treats that young man like an equal. I was aware of Ghost but after hearing their creator speak (even though he is wearing a ghoul mask) I was in, well spoken, articulate. The exact shit Satan would want in any worship or shilling
I don’t even listen to this music that much either
I think Ghost also does plenty of satire towards the church

>they sound like what hot girls think heavy music is
I'm stealing this, user

>I think Ghost also does plenty of satire towards the church
The music is mediocre, the stage show is trash, Tobias has barely any presence and his ghouls are even worse now that he can openly claim they're irrelevant.

Marilyn Manson did it better" is probably one of the worst criticisms one can receive as a musical act in this day and age.

They shouldn't have ditched the pope getup, and the last album was just the dude bitching about his band mates

their first album is similar to mercyful fate, the other albums, not so much.

I have never heard a single second of this garbage band and I never will.

Because their music is accessible and their gimmick appeals to the shallow and overdone critique of religion that prevails in our time. People enjoy the catchy music and feel that the music is saying something unique and intelligent.

For what it's worth, I actually think some of their music is well made (especially their first album).

nah. more pop metal than power metal. Iron Maiden songs usually don't have the sort of pop hooks like Ghost songs do

Maybe sometimes, I think it's just the catchiness + high grade theatrics 90% of the time though, lots of careful pop chord configs in there. Not so much to do with the statement on religion, all that seems self-mocking to a degree.

That could be true. I think the two are connected, though (the theatrics and the statements). The aesthetics inherently make statements against organized religion as an oppressive and fundamentally immoral institution. At the very least, I feel like this is a factor of some level.

Yeah, I'm sure it's a factor, just think people feeling the critique of religion is unique and intelligent isn't a primary driver for their popularity. Then again I'm not certain about that. Just a butthurt fan desu.

lmao wtf is steam powered giraffe trying to do now

How do you "know" they're garbage, then?

Same....boutta kill myself
