reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/ci3nf2/for_people_who_like_to_listen_to_full_albums_what/

>binging a 40 minute to an hour long experience
i gotta go binge an episode of seinfeld, hopefully i dont get bored and skip to the greatest hits!

someone unironically answered ITAOTS

seinfeld clip compilations on youtube are the best way to enjoy the series

I hate reddit more than I hate myself.

i hate to admit it, but i - on very rare occassions - might have binged an album or two before.

>winter 04
>bought eminem's encore
>listened in one go
>am bisexual now

i felt this

I binged Ichiko Aoba's discography recently
fucking 10/10

Are people actually like this? Are we actually that out there for just listening to full albums? Nevermind the whole digging for obscure bullshit part, but just listening to albums all the way through?

Yes. People do not have an attention span for entire albums
Not only that but Spotify on phone, if you don't pay for it, shuffles your tracks, I doubt most people pay for that.
Sad times.

People can't pay attention for 45 minutes straight? I can get 90 minute albums, that can get rough depending on the artist, but 45? People manage movies and Netflix is massive as is, how come music is so different? Because it's only sound?

>Because it's only sound?
Basically, for most people, music is background noise, they don't pay attention to music, they always do something else while they listen to music, browse the internet, something like that.

And also, to elaborate, most people listen to playlists. Not albums.

>And also, to elaborate, most people listen to playlists. Not albums.
I assumed that, but I don't really see what's different between 45 minutes of a playlist of what I assume is somewhat similar music and just an album. "Variation"? Most good albums are somewhat varied anyway.

I really enjoy the new Rich Brian record
Combine that greatness with my evening toke session and every track is such a bop!

Edit 1: spelling

Edit 2: Holy moley, thanks for 50 upvotes guys!

is this satire or a real post from the thread

old.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/cib68k/for_people_who_like_to_watch_movies_what_are_your/

>watching movies and not skipping to the action parts

that's a yikes for me

Yea, the fact that this got upvoted that much and has people responding to it with the most pleb taste imaginable is fucking awful.
This is why I only browse niche reddit if at all.

This made me irrationally angry

>I don’t do movies, I do anime. But when I do binge movies I binge the MCU

>M83 - Hurry Up We're Dreaming
>The only album I've been able to listen to without skipping a track.

lmao every post in the thread is like this

Music for this feel?

I fucking hate Reddit with every fiber of my being

just binged this thread
now it's time to purge

I don’t get it. I always have a lineup of albums to play if I want background music. Switching albums every 45 minutes is just as easy as booting up a playlist, and gives a better listening experience

youtube.com/watch?v=lbhAzwrSjL0

kek based

Yeah, exactly. You can queue albums for hours and its just as low-maintenance as a playlist and like you said, it makes for a better listening experience, but I assume these people don't really care about the listening experience that much since it's so extremely passive of an act? I have no clue, I really didn't think just listening to albums was that strange.

I don't know whether to laugh or be mad

>"Variation"? Most good albums are somewhat varied anyway.
They hate listening to the same voice/feel for more than a few minutes. Good albums are cohesive, and that's what annoys them. To be fair, if you don't know the music, you need a few listens before understanding each track well enough to really enjoy it. You also need to pay attention. That's why they stick to music they know or music that's easy to listen to.

cryptopsy - none so vile

I'm so fucking disgusted, you wouldn't believe it. You know what it feels like to come to Yea Forums after a fucking shitty day, and having to read that shit? Not only they are literal retards with a stupidly short attention span, but they also have an incredibly shitty taste. FUCK REDDIT

Pretty much. It is hard to comprehend how little the average person cares for music.

That's what happens when you asked people with no actual interest in music for opinions on music

>People manage movies and Netflix is massive as is
most people actually browse the internet on the side too when they watch something on their own

it's not just reddit, that's the vast majority of people

just got back from bingereading 10 pages of harry potter.. man am i exhausted

edit: stop fucking downvoting i will strangle you

The Mollusk
Master of Reality
High Visceral Part 1 & 2
SWAX

Any Tool album. Looking forward to 1 month +1 day from now

If you want something to binge listen to it's Dopesmoker by Sleep. It's an hour long song.

I know that this question is retarded but I have actually legit "binged" an album before. Back when A Crow Looked at Me came out I decided to listen to it while reading Blind Mute Loli, and because that greentext is like the size of a novel I ended up listening to that fucking Mount Eerie album like 11 times in 1 sitting. Every time I finished the album I would just put it back on and I did so until I finished the story.

I mean they're good albums but how must I know it's a white guy behind his computer/phone writing that shit out and thousands of other white guys hivemind upvoting that shit?

>Normally I wouldn't say anything about a comment as rude as this, especially without being involved to begin with, but you've said something that hits a nerve for me. Who the hell are you to say he doesn't have a right to have his opinion? Who are you to say his taste in music is poor? Dammit man, there's people like you in every community, and it's people like you who put a bad taste in other people's mouths. You could've politely disagreed over anOPINION, but instead you had to go and say he's wrong for enjoying what he does. It's so uncalled for. Just chill out dude, and quit taking the joy out of other people's lives.

Do normie really not "binge" albums?

40 minutes to an hour is not a "binge." Try 2+ hours next time instead and it might be considered.

Playlists can be really nice for occasions. I usually put on an album while listening to music at work etc. but I prefer playlists when I drive.

read the thread

how fucking adhd are these people

>binging albums
>not binging whole discographies, album cycles or charts/lists
Why are normies so adhd riddled these days? Did social media fuck up their neurotransmitters?

oversaturation of media makes it easier for the average persons attention span to be drawn away easier. Especially if the alternate option to what your currently doing is flashier and more exciting

the only reason more people listened to full albums back in the day is because music wasn't as readily available.
People were always retarded

It's not even adhd, it's pure normie laziness. I'm adhd and listen to full albums because I appreciate music as an artform instead of background noise. God these people are the worst.

Even when I was 9 I had my favorite pop albums I listened from start to finish. Don't want to brag but I even had favorite pop-punk bands with discographies I could listen to entirely, do this people even like music?

>do this people even like music?
I don't think it's fair to say they do seeing as they experience barely a fraction of it. It's like saying you love golf if you've played minigolf twice or that you're a movie person when you've seen a handful of trailers.

They like music, just on a very superficial level

Came here to post this album.

I was told that I'm "inflicting myself with Musical Stockholm Syndrome" for not skipping tracks I don't like

When i hear either/or for the first time i listened to it all day every day for like a month.

>at an Mgmt concert
>talking to this qt girl
>talks about how she goes to lots of shows and shit
>think she might be worth something
>"ah what's your favourite of their albums?"
>looks at me like im a fucking retard
>"ehm.. i just like the songs"
>nod awkwardly "oh.. that's cool."

just binged the new kanye west album, "ye"
it was a bit of an ordeal to sit through a whole album, but i'm grateful for the experience. i might try again in a few years
