The kid and lyrics are next level cringe, but the beat is galaxy brain good. they're usually pretty fun and creative.

This new sped up funk subgenre annoys me more than i'd like to admit. Funk is just not supposed to be that fast.

Since this is seemingly the brownzilian containment thread, i'd like to ask why does every brazilian seem to be gagging on these congoids cocks? Their stuff is pretty average tbqh.

para com isso, o funk só melhorou, 150 bpm foi uma invenção de deus
it's good, people are just too intense sometimes
150 bpm is garbage, fuck off.
Hey Brazilians, stop calling your music funk. It isn't remotely funky.
It doesn’t have to be funky to be funk
Anything before 2016>>>>>>this modern 150 bpm garbage.

neckbeard alert
My theory is brazilians don't have brains developed enough for music, that's why all their music is like that, just a minimal beat and repetitive singing with acapella parts in the middle
*Clube da Esquina exists*
I remember blaring these and singing along with the lads at school. Good times.

Nigga right now there's 150bpm, brega funk, slow paced funk de Belo Horizonte, lame ass funk paulista, funknejo, kondzilla's watered down funk, and many more. There's a lot of shit to choose from, if 150bpm isn't your cup of tea just don't listen to it and stop being a bitch.
>brownzilian
>congoids
I shouldn't bother, but whatever: Racionais got big with the release of their "Sobrevivendo no Inferno" album in 97, a period in Brazil in which nobody outside of the favelas gave 2 shits about what happened inside them or in any place related to them, or to miserable people in general (the prison system, for instance). Most of their songs in that album are structured in storytelling fashion, rather than being preachy about a subject, something the rappers of the group were pretty good at (Mano Brown and Edi Rock mainly, Ice Blue kinda sucks).
You've got to keep in mind that by the time this album was released, while hip hop was thriving in the US, it still had no traction here in Brazil, so what Racionais did, and the way they did it, was unprecedented and made waves because of how crude and in your face the style of the lyrics were, it made people either really uncomfortable or touched, but ultimately aware of what was being told in the songs. I'm of the opinion that Mano Brown specially is a really good storyteller, his lyrics are light on metaphors and such, it's just a raw telling of street living in Brazil. All of this coupled with DJ KL Jay's beats, which really fit each and every song by the group and are made with samples from great musicians from the time and before it, made Racionais' albuns into timeless, influential classics in regards to the reality of the impoverished and/or black population of Brazil.
I believe a lot of what makes their songs so good for us may be lost in translation, there's a lot of slangs and figures of speech that are not easily translated to English, but are really important in making us relate to what's being told, so maybe that's part of why you aren't really feeling their stuff. Plus there's the fact you're probably not BR.
(cont.)
The following is one of their most important songs, which is about a prison massacre that happened in Carandiru, São Paulo, and is actually co-authored by an inmate that survived it. It's probably my favorite song by them and the subtitles in this specially highlight what I said, they really don't do justice to the original lyrics.

Gotta apprectiate how commited he is to doing it the right way.
Bossa nova.
That's all you need to know.
well that was informative, thanks user
Not only am i brazilian but my uncle died in Carandiru about a year before the massacre (which is partly why i have no sympathy for the congoids who were killed that day, i know from what my mother told me that these inmates were no saints and beat him up on the daily solely for the fact that he wasn't as poor as them and was the son of a portuguese immigrant, instead of a nigger like them.)
I just don't really get the hype over Racionais, they just sound average to me.
As for my liberal use for "offensive" terms, it is mostly just for comedic effect, sometimes out of spite.
Ta se explicando pros gringo pq anão
is brazil ok?
they were right.
