Black people are constantly told they're ugly because of eurocentric colonialist beauty standards. Beauty is often associated with fair skin and blond hair, so it's natural they would take pride in their complexion and hair color since they're generally overlooked. The issue is so bad that some black people even bleach their skin, so artists uplifting that kind of phenotype is helpful, especially to young people who might have never been exposed to such views.
The reason why it's not the same if white artists do it it's that whiteness is already seen as the standard, it's already seen as beautiful.
