High Five Anxiety - Nerf Herder
Mr Blue sky
why be sad when you could listen to the happiest song ever
well this is pretty much green day with less graceful lyrics
the whole Origin album from Evanescence
The key is listening to happy sounding songs with sad lyrics
Yeah it's great isn't it
every song off script of the bridge
lemon tree is first thing that comes to mind then
I am reluctant to listen to this because of words like "rap" and "horrorcore"
Melancholy hill
Kid A
þau Hafa Sloppið Undan þunga Myrkursins
get with the times gramps

this is genuinely juvenile and disturbing. I put it on shuffle and got a song by a guy called "bones" called "the cafeteria". So edgy name and juvenile high school song name. And then guess what the music video is about? The columbine massacre. Reevaluate your priorities in life. If the other songs in this playlist are anything like this one, then basically the whole thing is depressing, not something soothing and fun to listen to when you're already feeling down.
How about this one?

You can skip to 1:27 if you don't like intro
When I get really depressed and in heavy anhedonia, almost all music doesn't feel genuine. Mostly because it isn't and truly 99% of everything is shit, but often all the music I used to like and emotionally resonate with as well. Sometimes I can infer the meaning and value of a lot of more complicated stuff like jazz, but in times when my head feels full of sludge its like I don't have the mental capacity to appreciate that stuff.
But I like listening to really cold and mechanical idm like Autechre's Confield, Chiastic slide, LP5 (etc). It feels unable to be fake due to being robotically "emotionless" and therefore having nothing to lie about.
Focussing on this kind of music for a while clears my head and prevents me from ruminating on negative things. Some beats that sound sterile at first end up strangely beautiful the longer you listen, as you begin to understand how all the little parts and blips and stuff fit together in slowly changing, evolving and degenerating patterns
usually doom / drone + weed works for me

I woke up today and felt more depressed than I have in years. I went to the library and read some random books about painters. went home and listened to music and tried to meditate but I still feel like shit. I know how you feel mate

it depends on what you're looking for. For me, I like to make myself feel worse, because I'm apparently a glutton for emotional pain which I suppose is how I end up in these states to begin with. Last night I listened to Pot Kettle Black by Wilco and cried myself to sleep. Really it's anything that reminds me of the times I can never get back.

>I love to fly. It's just, you're alone, with the peace and quiet, nothing around you but clear, blue sky. No one to hassle you, no one to tell you where to go or what to do. The only bad part about flying is having to come back down to the fucking world

It's a weird song. It's both perfect for when you're depressed and when you're happy.
