INDUSTRY PLANT!!!

What happened to black music? A blind nigga played on so much of this shit, now you're lucky if these new kids can play a note on the piano

i think commercialism exploits blacks since the majority are lower class due to the years of oppression and that exploitation gives us what we see today

Blacks were literal slaves used as tools and they still gave us great music for a century. Something's up

We took them out of the cotton fields where they came up with some of their best music is what happened

well you gotta look and see where the change likely occured, and i think it began with the commercialization of hip-hop/rap in the late 80s, early 90s. Even more so in the early 2000s with 'gangsta' culture being mainstream. the mainstream music labels saw it as easy money, get some relatively cheap instrumentation and get a nig to rap over it. with that commercialization, it was pumped into the mainstream and other blacks, only had this to turn to as most of mainstream culture up until recently has been dominantly white. therefore blacks growing up were now looking to rap and gangsta fashion/lifestyle because there wasnt really any mainstream alternatives for them to relate to. so i think it devolved from there

This album is an absolute classic, but I think Innervisions is my favorite- just throwing on "Too High" on a night drive is so comfy

That part is kinda obnoxious, but the first 3 minutes are some of the most joyful and uplifting music ever.

Innversions was just a warm-up for SITKOL
