The first guitar lesson I took was for $20 and all he taught me was what the frets were. He explained everything about the frets, the kind of metal they were made of, the radius they had, how they were installed, etc. By the time he was through my 45 mins were up and he told me next time I came in we'd discuss the nut. I was like wait, when do I start playing? He told me after he explained what each part of the guitar was and how it worked we could move on to music. This was in early February. I asked him how long until he'd be through teaching all the parts and he said it shouldn't take more than a year if I came in once every week.
I'm not spending a year and close to $2000 just learn what all the parts of a guitar are. I'm done. Fuck guitar, this shit is stupid.

Tone controls are fairly useless but if knobs of all things bother you on a guitar where they aren't in recesses so it's trivial to add some while looking OEM you're retarded
Just use amp or pedal EQ. There are very few situations where the tone knob would be pressed in the middle of a song and the EQ it provides is pretty limited compared to just engaging an EQ pedal. To change it you would have to solder in a new cap and everything.
Any time I buy a volume/tone guitar I make it volume/volume so I can blend the two pickups in the middle configuration.
