as we enter the chinese century, maybe old town road is the logical endpoint of american pop music: the formula perfected, a flawlessly assembled mutt earworm. it deserves to be #1 forever

literally who?
he is the reason there will be one political party in 2025.
No apology
>calling another ‘baby’

Ok. I listened to the Old Town Road for the first time thanks to this thread.
First of all, holy shit it was bland and generic. It's not even a decent earworm because it's not memorable. At least Despacito and Gagnam Style were memorable. Secondly, how the fuck does chart music manage to get increasingly worse. I would have thought that we hit rock bottom years ago, but apparently not.
Fuck, even Who Let The Dogs Out, Macarena, Asereje and Mambo No. 5 are amazing compared to this shit.
That is the rapper nas. you may have heard his album illmatic. He released it as a child in 1994. you can seem him pictured on the album cover. he has finally grown up and up out music since his 1994 hit. Old Town Road may have a larger impact than illmatic tho

Billboard has not been reliable since the 70s.

Apologize for what? I like the song and the EP. Glad he has the record. Shit is very good. I am still hoping for a Rodeo remix with Travis, didnt care for cardi b.
>Apologize for what?
probably for doubting /ourguy/. Or OP is asking billboard to
I'll care when he puts out consistent good work. But brushing him off completely is pretty ridiculous given how much of an accomplishment that really is, deserves his credit. Though it all seems kind of manufactured, you know? This guy doesn't seem more talented than other greats and I doubt he will have staying power.
Merging country and rap was a no brainer given how these are two of the most popular genres, actually pulling it off perfectly to where both camps seem to really enjoy it is another thing completely. This honestly might be a turning point for a new wave of pop music which is a cool prospect. Riff Raff did it first tho and he's actually cool.
yeah i guess maybe the second. i never doubted him. its a pretty good song. i like the video too. cant wait to hear more of his music whenever it comes out
Does literally anyone give a shit?
I could understand kinda caring before streaming numbers fucked up all the rankings, but even then, why care about how many other people are listening to an artist you like?
Based. I'm already over this meme but the people hating on it are even more obnoxious so I'm still rooting for him.
>he thinks this is a schizo opinion
Fuck off riajuu
