library music

example(s)?

Everytime I go to the library it's the same track playing. I don't what genre or who the artist is but it's like ambient, essentially silence with some occasional coughs and chair noises

sound check recordings from the mid 90's band LFO

The Wall, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, Money Shop remixed and blended personally into one album for his private listening. That and only that on repeat.

library music is a real kind of music. basically stock background music that can be used as background music or set moods in videos or things. Alessandro Alessandroni or Egisto Macchi are prime examples. obviouslt ranges in styles often some kind of classical or jazz fusion or electroacoustic progressive electronic type. italian composeres of 60s and 70s are kind of most known for this style. it was probably considered corny at the time but looking back is much more interesting as it is kind of complex music with weird background in a similar way to how city pop and japanese new age ambient from the 80s is viewed as really interesting music today

what the hell kind of libraries are you guys going to that play music

They are not literal libraries you fucking moron.

Yeah, it's basically mall music except instead of synthpop, smooth jazz or new wave it's usually bossa nova, space age pop or new age ambient. And instead of malls it was meant for use in cheap documentaries and small moldy shops.

It was mildly popular in the 90s with producers who made use of these records' obscurity status by sampling them in their music. Aphex Twin's Xtal and Moby's Porcelain were built on library music samples, as was DJ Shadow's Endtroducing.

The library stands as in a library of music.

so literally this:

idk some of its genuinely good. a lot of people like enio morricones soundtracks. he was a contemporary of most of those library music composers and making the same kind of music.
