Such a based post. Meteora is one of my favorite albums of all time, and i cringe every time someone on Yea Forums calls Linkin Park "bad" or "basic". While numb is pretty overrated, the whole album is a masterpiece from start to finish. Easier to Run is by far one of their best and most underrated songs. If you're reading this and haven't listened to Meteora yet, do yourself a favor and listen.

Linkin Park is Yea Forumscore, Yea Forums just doesn’t like to admit it

sauce for this gentleman?

basically I am not all that interested in that album.I loved it during my teenage years though.

However,A Thousand Suns still holds up and catches my attention to this day.I wonder how they had the will to go to that direction and sample actual discourses about the atomic bomb for a record that masses of angry/edgy teenagers would buy blindly.

A Thousand Suns is extremely underrated

This shit is just a soulless and mainstream-friendly take on Hybrid Theory.

Hybrid Theory is way better. I still like Meteora though.

I bought this album when I was 7.

it is,but Linkin Park's main appeal was to connect with that generation of teenagers and express their emotions instantly with Chester's screams combining them with rap verses that would only appeal to "alphas". Most of those songs were around 3 and pretty direct to the ears.

The problem is that ATS demanded to those fans to listen to an entire concept album of 48 minutes instead of a compilation of well known songs to show off to your cool friends.
I may be wrong with this statement but an outsider who listens to prog rock or electronic music albums could judge better ATS for what it is (most likely) rather than comparing it to the first two records like the fanbase did.

get out before it's too late. i am not joking

this. this to everything in this post

Numb isn't that bad. Faint is worse.

>2003
>15 years old
>Sitting in my room doing homework
>Listening to Meteora
>Life was good
Now that I'm all grown up and realize how shit life is this album means so much more to me.

Sure feels millenial in here.

>that
>no lyrics
>10/10

It's possible for a track without lyrics to be 10/10, but that wasn't nearly good enough.

Even as a kid their first album was the only thing of theirs I could get into

a thousand suns is literally their only good album

A Thousand Suns is so fucking good. The goddamn balls on those motherfuckers to release something like that at the height of their popularity is something I will always respect.

Which songs are must listen on Thouasnd Suns. I've listened to it because people on here do say alot that it's their best, but it still hasn't clicked with me. I like Meteora the best.

I bought this album when I was 2.

I was 10 when it released. Everyone in my fucking 5th grade class had this album, all the boys and girls.

This is partly a retread of what you said but I've to get it off my chest: A Thousand Suns and A Hunting Party are the peak of the band, IMO. The first is the deepest and most experimental they've ever been, and the latter a return to form to their original style, but with years of maturity and skill to elevate it. I don't give a fuck what anyone says, the band was good well beyond their first two albums, and I'm legitimately curious to see what they do moving forward.

It's blatant retardos playing Smashing Pumpkins with turntables.

I DONT KNOW WHATS WORTH FIGHTING FOR
OR WHY I HAVE TO SCREAM
I DONT KNOW WHY I INSTIGATE
AND SAY WHAT I DONT MEAN
I DONT KNOW HOW I GOT THIS WAY
ILL NEVER BE ALRIGHT
SO IM BREAKING THE HABIT
IM BREAKING THE HABIT
TONIGHT

ILL PAINT IT ON THE WALL
CAUSE IM THE ONE AT FAULT
ILL NEVER FIGHT AGAIN
AND THIS IS HOW IT ENDS

Thoughts on nu metal Heavy?

As someone who got into LP from the beginning of their major debut(One Step Closer) and loved the F out of their first two(counting Reanimation) and then went and listened to all their pre-major days, this Thousand Suns you fags keep going on about better be good. I've only heard like 2 or 3 singles since Meteora and they were pretty meh.

Halfway through, it's interesting. Music pretty much ever hits me at first, only after a few listens but I feel like this is worth another listen so far.

Wretches and Kings though

>tfw I'm actually interested in checking out a 2010 Linking Park album
It better be good.

my nigga

It's definitely a departure from their early stuff, but not completely devoid of heavy rock/screams. For some reason it makes me nostalgic even though it's my first listen. Some songs I felt like I heard before even though I know I didn't.

>the messenger
Dammit Chester

Oh wow didn't realize it was the last song. Yea mayne it was worth a listen.

if you had wanted a good bait/troll move, I would have picked One More Light instead and get a laugh from the replies.

But it's so generic that it's not even worth recommending, even in the pop genre, and options like Avicii would have been much more pleasant than that record

Ok, now redpill me on POD. They were amazing in their prime. Did they even still make music after that? They totally fell off the map out of nowhere.

One More Light is underrated

Faint and Somewhere I belong are great, the rest's alright

>Numetal
Linkin Park is Rap Grunge you idiot

I don't, it was my first CD. I'm quite fond of it, if anything.

Masterpiece of shit

Listening now - it does have a very good, fresh sound. The biggest problem is that it does feel very consciously aimed at 15 year olds, especially with how on the nose it is, especially with the rapping. For example, Chester sings "release the pain I've felt so long," which sounds great. Then Shinoda literally just says "release all the pain 'til it's gone." That's just annoying and stupid. Shinoda's a talented rapper, but here it feels a bit crass. Honestly, they make blink-182 seem subtle by comparison.

>Shinoda's a talented rapper
Is he? He's always seemed very middle of the road to me and his main feature as a musician is that he's versatile in his skill set. He can rap, do a bit of singing, play the guitar and the piano, producing etc. He's just not particularly noteworthy at any of them.

good album, but hybrid theory was better and this is basically a carbon copy with some very minor changes.

i can only tolerate their old stuff
but didn't podestas child say that his old shit was gay and didn't even want to play it on concerts ?

>it was my first CD
>tfw almost buyed it even though i had it pirated on my pc
i was such a dumb kid holy shit

I remember getting meteora and HT on my 4th or 5th birthday. I listened to them pretty much all the time on one of those fat disc players. Every once in a while I'll listen to them a little, not bad but so fucking edgy and angry. RIP Chester, dude was actually talented.

rage against the machine...?

this is one of the worst mixes i have ever heard. its a shame cause alot of these songs are good, but dam , listen to somewhere i belong and tell me when the guitars come in that it doesnt sound like finger nails on a chalkboard

This, Hybrid Theory, Meteora and A Thousand Suns are ACTUALLY good albums.

Just listened to it and, this

If you're a hardcore fan of their old stuff you won't like A Thousand Suns. It was insanely polarizing when it came out, but in time people came to realize it was kino

>Not The Catalyst
Best god damn song they've ever done

>LIFT ME UPPPP
>LET ME GOOO

>Such a based post.
>If you're reading this and haven't listened to Meteora yet, do yourself a favor and listen.

It's just a Boards of Canada rip off. But must confess i like it

>Somewhere i Belong
>Fingernails on a Chalkboard
Both based tracks tho

I'm more of a Waiting For The End kinda guy
>HOLDING ON TO WHAT I HAVEN'T
>
>GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
Never fails to get me choked up.
