the creator the music is a critic as well. they critique every sound they think about, every lyric they choose, and as such their “reviews” have more impact on the final product (the music) than any other listener. they are the most important critic, a different critic could only matter more than the musician themselves if that different critic released a review that completely changed the way people looked at the music. i don’t mean influencing the rym score by .5, i mean making people interpret the album as something literally entirely different from its original meaning. might be possible, but i’ve never seen it happen
scaruffi is an irrelevant pseudo-intellectual. he only uses this argument to make people think he’s important, but he fails to look deep enough into the argument to realize its full implications
